Makes 6 servings
Soak 2 cups of fresh pecans (about 1/2 pound) for about 5 minutes, rinse them, soak them another 5 minutes and rinse them again.
Then put into a Vita-Mix (or powerful blender):
- 8 pitted dates
- A level teaspoon of Celtic Sea Salt (or to taste)
- 2 – 3 teaspoons of honey (or to taste)
- 1 and 1/2 vanilla beans (optional)
- 5 – 12 macadamia nuts (make it creamier!!)
- Refrigerated cold water to total 60 oz.
Turn on low until the nuts are ground up. Then whip it on high for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes.
How many calories this recipe?
It looks very rich to keep my weight down, am I wrong?
I don’t know how many calories it is because when you eat mostly raw food, you don’t have to count calories. You count calories when you eat pizza, hamburgers and ice cream.
You keep your weight down by not eating many prepared foods.
Dear Peter,
A friend of my friend wants to do the Master Cleanse but is afraid to continue on the cleanse because of her allergy to fresh lime and lemon juices. She did start and on the second day threw up. She wanted to know if she can do it without using either lemon or lime juices (just water, maple syrup and cayenne)? Please advise. Thanks!
Connie
Hi Connie,
Although not common, vomiting on the first few days is not unheard of and does not mean the person is allergic to citrus. Stanley Burroughs mentions this in his book The Master Cleanser. It turns off very quickly. It is basically a strong detox reaction.
Doing just water, maple syrup and cayenne (and presumably salt water and lax tea) is an even more powerful detox and may likely cause vomiting also.
If she’s really allergic to citrus, she might be better off with a colon cleanse product. Although it won’t cleanse the whole body, it will be easier to tolerate.
Best wishes,
Peter
I know someone else who is allergic to citris and apparently it is alright to sub in pure orangic cranberry juice for the lemon/lime juice. She has done it a number of times using this method.
Best of luck to her!
I’m aware that individual variations have been tried and sometimes work well. My advice is always that if one finds a variation that worked to use it for oneself, but not to promote it to others because the instructions that work best for the most people are the original instructions of Stanley Burroughs and I want to see the greatest number of people get the best results.
Using organic cranberry juice in place of lemon juice may make a very good juice fast, but it isn’t the Master Cleanse. As long as everyone knows it’s different, that’s fine.
