there is alot of incorrect information out there on the internet. the best and only guide we suggest following is Burrough's instructions.
this is taken from the General Help for Newbies Thread:
How often?
As per Burroughs instructions, 3 or 4 times a year means ever 3 to 4 months. Seasonally even. Cleansing too frequently can be harmful on the body as well as the mind. However Burroughs does say that those with serious health issues can cleanse more often than 3 times a year. He also suggests a diet plan to do in between cleanses so you do not go back to normal eating and yo-yo cleansing.
Starting and stopping digestion can be jarring on your system and confusing to your body. Also, after a cleanse your body and metabolism need time to restabilize so the shortest recommended time between cleanses is 6 to 8 weeks.
The MC is good for you, but there is such a thing as too much of a good thing.
Known side effects of long or too frequent cleanses are hair loss and rapid weight gain.
-- If fasting is overused, it may create depletion and weakness, lower resistance, and allow diseases to begin. Certain people are not good candidates for fasting or cleansing. Others may enjoy fasting so much that they overindulge in it and take it beyond the limits of normal elimination, resulting in protein and other nutritional deficits, reduced immunity, and loss of energy. While fasting allows the organs, tissues, and cells to rest, clean house, and handle excesses, the body needs the nourishment provided by food to function after it has used its stores.
