    lol loved the comic!

I really had a good time last night. We talked and laughed and shared confessions about our pasts, embarassing and random stuff. We also made a mini movie. My costume - The great white lie - I was wearing a white shirt and they taped lies about me, each other and life in general on my shirt. So it was all totally worth the minor disappointment and subsequent pain.
I had had a rough day emotionally - I wonder if I'm going thru detox - with the mucus and congestion and emotional instability and cravings - oh and pms too, let's not forget that. But I did go to the sauna yesterday and I am doing a raw food diet so I could easily be going thru detox.
Either way, the best part is that my bf came over and rubbed my belly, made me ginger tea and made everything all better.
So I'm doing my swf and looking forward to a brighter day.

Thank God for tomorrows. Without them, all we'd have to focus on is yesterday.

Ok usually if i get sick or whatever I do 3 -4 days raw along with the swf. since i'm already doing raw, I need to do something a little steeper. Quick opinion poll - should I do 2 -3 days of lemonade, the citrus and cayenne will help break down the mucus, the swf will flush it out, common knowledge. or 2 -3 of lemonade mixed with other juices (green smoothies, wellness juice mixture, other juices (oj) etc) or 2-3 days of nothing but liquid, the juice place I frequent has a 2 day detox gallon drink you have for 2 days - basically it's 1 gallon a day of fresh grapefruit juice, fresh orange juice, fresh lemon juice and water. hmmm but for all that i can drink lemonade at home for free seeing that i already have the ingredients. so I guess it's option 1 or 2.
lemonade alone or lemonade and other juices.

PB, you definitely had a rough night. Thankfully, we get no treat or treaters on my street. I'm not even tempted to have anything other than the SWF, lemonade, and SM tea. Although I have put a couple of treats aside, I am concerned that my stomach will not like them and I hate tummy aches. I may in fact avoid them altogether and go back to eating no candy whatsoever.

Last night was Day 7 MC1 for me, and I was so tired that I went to bed a little after 8 pm! Detoxing I suppose.

As for the quick poll, that's a tough one to answer. But considering your previous night maybe 2-3 of lemonade mixed with other juices would be suitable, since 'wellness' was mentioned I chose that one.

PB - Your BF sounds like a real gem. What a sweetie, sharing your raw foods and smoothies, rubbing your tummie. I like him.

Hey, I'm *SURE* your symptoms have to be, at least somewhat, due to detox. I'm not totally raw, but mostly these days, and I'm craving a cigarette - I haven't smoked since 1987!!!! It's so remote for me, almost like you and churros. No chance I'll light up, but I find it hilarious and surprising! Gotta be post-cleanse raw food detox!

    *sigh*

so i have been doing liquid only today. that oughta give my digestive system a break so my body can heal it self and this mucus will leave me alone. did a swf this morning, had a litre of lemonade and two smoothies, one of which was green. I wish I had a juicer now so I could just juice all my friends and veggies.

i also had some raw garlic - cut it up to release the medicine then swallowed it with water like a pill. in retrospect, might be work on my stomach to digest but it's not like my stomach has anything else to do.
anyway, i am definitely going thru something. detox. PMS. seasonal allergies. depression. All of the above.

I had a talk today with one of my friends about me being congested and sounding like a parent/teacher on charlie brown. This morning was rough - i could barely talk my throat was so raw and I sound like someone punched me in the nose. Other than that and a cough, I feel fine, energetic and able.
Anyway, he is all about me fasting it out and the garlic and such. he also suggested going to a chiropractor for a realignment, he says that helps me alot too. can't afford that now tho.
He also mentioned another point that I know but forgot I guess, but wanted to share with you all- we open ourselves to pain and sickness.
Think about it. germs and bacteria and viruses are everywhere. but when there is imbalance, physical or mental, we open ourselves up to them. And while I've been raw and eating well, mentally I have been stressing out about everything and feeling confused, overwhelmed and worried. And that dis-ease in my mental affected my physical.
I'm not complaining. this is something I had to go through. I'm learning. I'm getting thru it. I'm taking care of myself and my business. And I'm taking the necessary time to rest and think and thanks to the bf, and even dinner with my friends last night - enjoy myself.
I guess i just wanted to get that off my chest and hopefully someone will learn something from me. Or have a bit of advice to add. Or nothing at all.
I think I just needed to make that point, that sometimes no matter how healthy you are physically, you have to get it together mentally too because negativity, confusion, fear and all that stuff spread like a cancer.

    upward and onward.

hey everybody! hope your tum's doin better'n mine PB. look what i had to contend with today:

just as I was coming back to my office with the resolution that I wasn't going to eat any more junk--this stuff materialized and I'd been "boo'd". What was lying in wait for me were-- 3 chocolate pudding "tarts" with gummy bear worms, anothe bag of "brownie" mini-cupcakes, and a single large cup cake. Neeless to say-- I ate them ALL!

The day before was bad enough with all the Halloween candy lying around and Dunkin Doughnuts to boot! I took a picture but I'll spare you from having to look at all those chocolate ,candies and donuts.

Some part of me realized that I have to become an adult, and "parent" myself through this- or the result will be that I'll weigh a ton and die of heart disease. Too tired to write at length, and also feel guilty that I seem to need help around my "compulsive overeating"-- or inability to say NO to the stuff that makes me sick.

I don't exactly know the way to cope. I have succeeded in the past only by going cold turkey. no "half-way" measures seem to work, nor does "moderation". As Gary Null puts it: (very loosely) if something is bad, its bad, so don't do it.

This means I have to basically cut out all the "evil white" foods-- like white sugar, white flour, ... cheese, dairy. Right now- I'm too tired.

    CIAO.-- good night!

i'll support you soph. quit that white stuff. it's poison. i can be your sponsor. (that's what they call them in AA right?)

I'm in the middle on my swf and coughing up and spitting out what may be pieces of my lungs. Better out than in right, or does that not count when it's a vital organ?
more juice and lemonade for me today. Yeah!

if anyone lives in the los angeles area there is a newish raw food restaurant that i just tried -euphoria loves rawvolution it is called. it is so ridiculously good that i am almost a convert. (cannot give up sushi) he also has a cookbook called rawvolution which i will pick up as soon as i feel economically ready. if anyone is in the area you must go!

peanutterb your reasoning with yourself sounds wise, i hope you are feeling better. you counsel so many cleansers on here, were you able to comfort yourself? there is always a mental component, it is intimately connected, and it is smart to remember that. i.e. what you are going thru is temporary, possibly caused by your body's healing process.

sopheesta i feel your pain. i work in the entertainment industry where it is standard procedure to make sure we have a table full of snacks and sodas coffee etc close at hand all day. craft service they call it. what kind of "service" is this i ask you? candy cookies chips. some healthy choices but how do you eat that when your favorite junk is right there! i have noticed personally that it is easier to say no since the cleanse? but not possible to say no all the time. all we can do is try again.
i am just getting to the carrot tops today. i am excited all this cooking is fun!

good luck with the carrot tops miriam don't be afraid to experiment, and tell us how they turn out! i like your idea of how we get to "try again" -- sort of like a movie that i like: "Ground Hog Day", or reincarnation... I think part of what makes for good outcome is making some kind of decision in advance which helps to incline the mind. things worked very well for me at certain points in my life and not others. i think i can easily get into wrong behavior by fallacies in my thinking and then everything nosedives. sorry if I'm rambling.

btw I just got my period which i had skipped last month. it may be because of the cleanse. i may as well say that i'm getting to an age where it could also be menopause-- but at this point it has happened twice, and both times after a cleanse. I've done 3 cleanses to date--the first was 52 days long and I had two periods during. the second and 3rd were both of the order of some 30 plus days--(although they were somewhat unorthodox because I interrupted both in the middle then went back on.)

I didn't want to make a big deal about this because everybody is different etc-- I went to my naturopath and my gynecologist after the first time it happened because i was literally climbing the walls... they both said it was because of the cleanse. don't know. the second time i didn't have the heart to tell them about it and suffered silently (altho i complained pretty vocally to people close to me-- who really had to hear about it). not a joke it was awful to skip. glad it finally came.

p-b i'd love it if you "sponsor" me--if u really think u can handle it. (to be honest, i can't handle myself). btw -- to confess: i already had some of the "white stuff" in the form of raw, organic "transition" feta cheese from the farm. hope that was ok. this was on my fabulous marinated kale salad--augmented w other great ingredients. rushing so i won't list. i also had organic oatmeal, (NOT RAW) and quinoa (off white and also not raw) hope this doesn't mean i've completely blown it. at least it wasn't DURING THE CLEANSE.

    gotto go back to work.

    love,

    soph

PS: p-b i hope you're only joking about coughing up your lungs. you CAN irritate them you know-- from too much coughing... so take it easy there--and try to drink some tea or something like that-- maybe even with maple syrup! i'd say raw honey, but Burroughs has such a think against it I don't know what to think. But everyone "back home" (ie Greece) would have honey and lemon in their tea and never thought anything against it...

Also: good you're having a lot of juice and lemonade. those should certainly help!
