psst... Meedis, I've been banned from this thread, but no storebought broth should be used and no meat/chicken should be used.
gotta go before Res and Soph see me, with their evil brownie-cheesecake eating ways.

Hey! Methinks peanut is doing a drive by. Perhaps we should discuss dripping fudge cake and pecan encrusted cheese balls with whole wheat crackers. Well not together...unless you're really hungry.

    Egads...

Firstime: Isn't that combo fantastic? Someone mentioned sprinkling chopped walnuts over the top -which I've done- and THAT is a fantastic idea! Walnuts contain a large amount of Omega-3 fatty acids which inhibits certain types of cancer. So it tastes great AND it's doing a nice job of fighting off junk in your body! It's a win win situation.

Soph: the dates are A-ok because they're FIBER full. So eat up and it will move out the brownie. Plus you have those Turkish Figs working for you too. Mmmm figs. It's 5:30 in the morning and I haven't had anything to eat yet....I have a pear staring at me. I may have to engage it.

So, to everyone After the Cleanse....find an eating plan and STICK TO IT. For those doing well, post your plan here to help the rest. And to you Lurking Cleansers....cheese danish. Now get back to your lemonade!!

    Love to all,

    Exclamation Re: *After The Cleanse*

    don't forget Res

you think you're tormenting Pea-- but she's in another land-- that's craving FREE-- probably immune to those fudge cake pecan crusted balls yer talkin about.

you have, on the other hand-- stabbed me-- hard-- and my only revenge is this:

I MADE A GREEN SMOOTHIE so thick-- it can stand up to any of this--with DATES, and (TURKISH) FIGS-- banana, orange, and some sortof horrid GREENS. the worst of it-- is-- mea culpa-- put in vanilla (eden) soy extra-- sunflower seeds and raw tahini, not to also mention flax-- and the thing prob'ly has more calories than a slice of pizza.

LOVE TO YOU ALL whichever side of the fence you're on!

    soph

POST SCRIPT: oh my GOD-- there just came a knock at the door-- and the guy who was feeding me roti yesterday-- (my revenge was to give him organic chocolate) just said: "You're in for worse-- I made banana nut bread yesterday-- it's with Arati (his wife)" but he's bringing it now and putting it THERE--> (he said, pointing to the nook where we all share...) God must be doing this so I learn how to eat.

and as if this wasn't bad enough-- I went to the kitchen to refill my green smoothie-- and there was the corner of a currant tart

and a strawberry-- and what can I say---- I SNARFED IT ALL UP!

How adorable is that, blue currants!!!

I posted a recipe in the recipe box about Raw Apple Pie (which is amazing). I'm going to make the crust (made with dates and walnuts) and create a RAW Blue Currant PIE!! Soph you're killing me. And if you're killing me, the Little Lurking Cleansers are sure to be gritting their teeth! (craving free, huh? hahahahahaha *cough*)

The uh, um, green smoothie sounds, uh, delightful.... Perhaps you can shape it into a lemon and let it dry. Then use it as "art deco".

I'm still mesmerized by your "carrot tops" which I haven't made yet...I should do that tonight.

So, saute raw carrot tops in olive oil and use soy sauce or tamari? Garlic and lemon and eat? Yes?

I have raw cuc's & red bell pepper on my desk with a deep red tomato and raw cashews... I also have a small chunk of organic chocolate...lots & lots of water and a lemon (you just can't get away from them). I love squeezing the lemon in the water...mmmm.

    Okay, enough!!

    Love to all!

--and umm-- arn't u the one that broke the news that raw cashews ain't RAW???

    Yeah, Soph,

I think Res did talk about the "raw" cashews.

But I think you're on the hook for false reporting: that currant tart didn't have a "corner"!

    Soph:

Yes, yes about the raw cashews but I KNOW that. They're "steamed" I guess and not truly raw. Saw a photo of the raw cashews and they come in a weird air tight bag and they look wet....very costly - may have to just soak my nuts.

mtmouse: HAHAHAHA about the "corner". I'd love to say "BUSTED" but, that wasn't the exact "Tart" she was referring to. lol

Have to post this cause I'm on a roll. I suppose if the "junk food" mood hits, it might as well be healthy "junk food".

No Bake Carrot Cake (From some London people so spelling and references are going to be a bit Brit. )

*References to :Chet" means Chet Day. www.chetday.com. Well worth a visit.

Its wonderful moist rich tasting cake and no baking either.

1/2 cup of soft pitted dates
1/2 cup of drained chopped frozen or frsh pineapple
    3/4 cup of dried apples
    1 cup of carrot pulp
    1/2 cup of unsweetened coconut
    1/4 cup chopped walnuts
    2 teaspoons cinnamon
    1/4 teaspoon of allspice

Puree the dates and pineapple. Grind the apples till fine and mix all ingredients together.

Shape into two layer 'cakes' about 6 inches
    round.

Assemble the layers one on the other with frosting between and on top.

Chet's cream frosting is easy but takes 12 hours and the family wouldn't wait till tomorrow. You put equal parts of soaked and rinsed cashews, and water and blend until creamy.

Then put into a mesh bag over night to produce a cream cheese, which can be flavoured with a couple of dates to 1/2 cup of cheese and 1/2 teaspoon of almond
extract, and he suggests sweetening with rice bran syrup, whatever that is. It must be specifically American and I guess honey would have to substitute over here.

Well worth the effort and the tops for a treat meal.

    Cheers!
