I assume after reading all of this that I need to drink OJ for at least a week and maybe try the liquid from a vegetable soup as well. I am so nervous to gain all that weight back so I have decided to also do the raw veggie thing. My quesiton is why hasn't my tongue cleared up? I've have been 100% committed and not cheated or anything.
    Hi there,
I remember that feeling of coming off the MC. I went for 24 days and my tongue didn't clear either. No sweat, I think it has to do with the amount of toxins that are in our bodies. I did notice however, that on days after the middle of my tongue got a little pink.
I too was nervous about gaining the weight back. I lost 20lbs and I am still on the overweight side. Since they recommend drinking the OJ or lemonade for breakfast and I read somewhere in the MC book that our body cleanses from 12 midnight to 12 noon, I thought that would be a good reason not to eat anything. I kind of go further with it also. I try not to eat until I get home. It works well when I make a smoothie for breakfast and lunch. I am not too hungry on that.
It's been 3 weeks and the scale has been going up and down but no more than 3 lbs added. This morning I am back where I lost the 20lbs. Try it.

    Hey there Crystal,
Took the senna last night cause I felt I picked on a little too many things yesterday (sugar cane, left over fish & okra, yoghurt, mangoes, etc). My husband commented on my snacking and I didn't feel good about that, so senna OUTwith it.

At what time of the day do you have your first solid intake of food? Today I had my OJ in the morning and I brought some lemonade (molasses) with me for lunch. But am I hungry? YUPPP! I hope I will last until I get home because I really need to remember that I can survive on liquid alone. Oops, what am going to eat? Darn this planning of food is work. Also have some left overs but don't want to eat the rice (white) as I had some last night. Certainly don't want to encourage that again so I will have to think of something else.
Are you still having your kombucha? I should be finished with the probiotics on Monday (30 days). Thinking about going to the gym for even 2 months, I need to tuck away the loose skin No discipline at home. Are you exercising?
    Take care.

Hi Bridge! Was wondering where you've been. Yeah, I'm exercising. I do Tae Bo just about everyday. I know you're supposed to take one day off a week, but I don't bother because I know there will be a day when I just don't have time. So, if I took Monday off then couldn't get to it on Wednesday, I would feel bad that I didn't do it on Monday. lol I also do some extra weight exercises a couple times a week and body sculpting for my butt . Would love to take up running again, but I don't have time away from the kids without getting a sitter and they're still too little to keep up. Would also love to have a gym membership but I'm doing the single mom thing, so don't have the extra money for that.

When things are going right, my first solid meal is a salad for lunch. So, it should be 15-16 hours between dinner the night before and lunch the next day. And I feel SO GOOD when I stick to that. It's just hard when there's "other stuff" sitting in the house. ugh I really am feeling like I need to do another MC soon. Just a 10-day this time. After the first MC that was a 10-day, I did really well with eating the way I wanted to (at least for a while!) and I didn't feel hungry all the time. Since the 20-day MC, my appetite is just insatiable. Don't know why, but I don't like it. I'm thinking about maybe next Saturday. I wouldn't do it so soon, but kids' dad will be in town to visit on 9/9 (first visit in 2 years) and that's my time to recharge and hang out with friends so I want to be done and eating by then!

eta: Yes, I'm still doing the kombucha! I make a bottle of 2 servings last 3 days. But at least I have some everyday!

    Hi
I really envy you with having an exercise routine and sticking to it. If you don't mind, please tell me more about that routine. I will use you as my mentor I have a set of Billy Blanks Tae Bo Boot Camp. I will pull them out and since evening classes are done for me (2 yrs assoc degree) I WILL do it in the evenings. I will need your help, ok? You sound young, how old are you? I just turned 40 with 2 daughters 16 and 13.
With regards to eating, it's like I want to taste everything now. Food is calling out to me and I am trying not to answer. My daughter made a salad for me so I will have that for lunch today with sardines. It's also difficult to eat healthy when the funds are low
Well, I woke up late this morning with studying on my mind. But after reading your email I think I will put in some exercise time......maybe later after the senna has finished its toll (cramps)
Tell me for sure if you will start next Sat and keep up the good work girl!

It's funny because I look younger than I am (people always guess wrong by 5-8 years) and I feel younger than I am, but I'll be turning 37 in a couple weeks! With the Tae Bo, I really think it's all about the endorphins flowing after doing it a while that make you WANT to do it everyday. So, if you commit to at least 2 or 3 weeks of not coming up with an excuse to get out of it (LOL!) you can get yourself in that zone I think. Plus you should see some good results in that time, which keeps motivation high. I've only done one of the Boot camp DVDs and it was a great workout - never got to the point where I could do all the ab exercises in a row without taking a break. I would probably LOVE it if I hadn't tried the "Amped" series. Those workouts are just unreal. They are an even better cardio workout, meaning that your heart rate stays up more consistently. When you go through some of the combinations you are just PUMPED, very powerful stuff. Anyways, the cardio is what really burns fat, all the strengthening and toning is awesome too but I couldn't really see the muscles anyways til the fat started melting. lol If you ever want to try some of those, I really recommend the "Tae Bo Amped: Jumpstart Cardio" for the first one. I just rent them from netflix and send them back when I want to try another.

Just keep in mind that if you haven't done it in a while, you will ABSOLUTELY have to take the next day off. After that, on the 3rd day I could do it but not quite as vigorously as the first time because I was still a little sore. Then after that, I committed myself to doing it everyday and slowly got stronger and better (more coordinated). Now, I'm definitely in that zone where I do it because I want to. It's exhilarating and I miss having that feeling on the occasional day that I don't have time for it.

Wow, if you start now then are able to continue during an MC, you will feel amazing! Now, I couldn't do it everyday when I did the 20-day MC. There were a few days my energy was just too low. But most days I could and it was nice to know I was burning even more fat than usual.

Right now, I'm feeling pretty strongly that I'll start next Saturday. I really don't want to have to wait until mid-Sept after the ex leaves. Feel like I will have un-done all the good from that 20-day MC by then. lol I definitely still have more healing work to do in terms of the MS - I think that eventually I will be able to relax and not feel like I have to be ON IT all the time. But for now, I want to keep all that healing momentum going!

    Hi Crystal,
I am studying for an exam which takes place on Thursday so I have this big book in front of me trying to finish. Took the day off from work to do so too.

I will look for your Tae Bo version and try it. I take it you do it for the length of DVD? With the boot camp version I could only do 20mins lol Hope this one will be better.

I didn't get to pick up any fruits or supplies last Friday and Saturday I wasn't mobile so I didn't get anything. Found a mango and had that for breakfast this morning. Around 12noon I had few pieces of fried plaintain and then made some oatmeal. For dinner I had rice with vegetables and ackee (a type of fruit). It's a one pot meal we call seasoned rice.

Not too sure about doing the MC again since I am thinking that I spent almost 30 days getting back the good flora in my intestines to have them go out again. I think it might be too soon. We'll see.

    Hey Bridge,

I'm gonna scrap the MC too for now. I realized I would be fasting on my birthday! Not cool. lol So I think I'll do a couple short water-only fasts between now and the ex's arrival. I usually go from Friday after dinner, through Saturday, then start with juice Sunday morning.

I did the boot camp DVD after I had been doing Tae Bo for a while, so I was able to go the whole 55 minutes or whatever, but I just couldn't do all those abs! I believe the Jumpstart Cardio is around 36 minutes and that includes stretches before and after, so maybe 30 minutes of cardio? At any rate, I always just do what I can and know I'll work up to doing more.

The fried plantains sound yummy, haven't had those in a long time! Is ackee similar to another kind of fruit? I've never even heard of it. Good luck on your test!

    Hey all

Hoping someone will be able to guide me as I am trying to transition into raw food lifestyle. I did by the book 12 Steps to Raw Food and I already love what I am reading so far! I definitely want to make the lifestyle change but I am not sure if I should do another cleanse...

On August 1st , I did the Master Cleanse for 14 days. I was planning on going for 21 days, but I cheated and when I went out on the weekend, I ended up eating. I tried to go back on the cleanse 3 days later, but in another week I was back to eating junk/processed food when I was going out.

Now I still do my SWF in the morning and I have an occasional spicy lemonade here and there, but for the past two weeks, I have been eating out and having lots of junk

My question is, should I just start a new Master Cleanse the beginning of next month and do the 21 days and then slowly work my way into raw food? As you can tell, I do have a junk/processed/cooked food addiction and I would love to be able to curb it!

If I started another Master Cleanse in September, would that be too much cleansing since I did 14 days in August. I read somewhere that you should only do 1 MC every 3-4 months...?

Please advise b/c I desparately want to do raw food and kick my bad food addiction - but I am really struggling! Thanks for reading

    Hi,
    Just dropped in.
Ackee is Jamaica's national fruit (http://wwwchem.uwimona.edu.jm/lectures/ackee.html) , usually eaten with codfish and fried dumplings and some fried plaintains too.... mmmmm real good.
When is your birthday and when is the ex coming?
I think those short fasts will do for now. Anytime away from food is usually a good rest for the system. I'll do the same
30 minutes of cardio should be ok for me
    Going to read... later.

Hi there! You know, you did awesome with your 14-day MC. Congrats! I would normally plan to do 3-4 MCs a year myself, except I'm in major healing mode right now. So, I just listen to my body. I don't think the cleansing itself would be an issue, but more about how long one can go on restricted calories. If I were feeling weak and increasing lemonades didn't help (last time I felt a difference in less than 24 hours) then I would probably stop it. But as long as I'm feeling ok...I'm gonna go for it!
