hi molunat, congrats on 14 days! that's great. i'm still around. i'm about 6 days post cleanse now, and this is the first time i have not gained any of the weight back. in fact, i've lost 2 more pounds, only 7 more to go until i'm back to "normal" and my jeans fit me again.

but much, much better than the weight loss, which is really great, i feel so energized and clear and so motivated. i attribute that to cleansing for 12 days and then following with raw foods that are ALIVE. what a huge difference it's making for me. i have to say, also, that for me, transitioning to food with something raw made all the difference. i made raw soup (just blended veggies with a little water, there's a recipe on one of these threads...) instead of the cooked. if i can give anyone advice on transitioning to more raw after the cleanse, i would say, without a doubt, forget the cooked soup. that's what worked for me, anyway.

i've tried to eat more raw several times over the past few years, and while i felt great while doing it, i was like a policeman to myself with the food. i was way to hard on myself and also pretty unrealistic, i think. this time around, i really want to maintain a good balance for the long haul, so i'm not being so rigid about it. a little something cooked here and there is something i'm really ok with. i'm probably about 90-95% raw now. that's way better than what i did before. and like i said, the weight is still falling off and i feel great!

ok. no more writing. (see how energized i am??!!) hope you're having a great day, molunat, and keep me posted on how you're doing.

marsh, that's great! Good for you. It seems that you came to that point when your mind is determined and you don't have to fight urges all the time. The soup sounds great. I'll look for the recipe. I'm, also, thinking about making gazpacho. I saw some heirloom tomatoes at the supermarket today and they looked yummy.
My goal is not to lose more weight (right now I am 4 lbs below what looks good on me), but to bring my body fat percentage back to 17%-18%, which is what it was two years ago. I was able to maintain it by running long distance. In fact, I expect to gain muscle weight as soon as I hit the pavement.

I'm sprouting chickpeas, but I just read that uncooked chickpeas may be toxic. I don't know... I'm not sure what to do with them.

molunat- sprouted chickpeas are wonderful and healthy and delicious. use them! you can make raw hummus, or put them in a salad, or even make raw chickpea bread if you have a dehydrator. there is so much you can do with them. they are sort of starchy, which is good if you're not wanting to loose weight. do you have any raw books? i just bought 2 and they are super helpful.

there are several raw soup recipes here in the lemonhead recipe box thread, or just google raw soup and a bunch will come up. mine was really simple. i can give you my recipe if you don't find one you like. it has a tomato "broth" (with fresh basil, a few soaked raisins, lemon juice, some jalepeno and a little salt all blended together), with avocado, corn, and bell peppers cut up and added to the broth. i guess i just gave you the recipe! it's so easy, just add or delete to your preference.

i'm glad you're hanging around after the cleanse, i'll be here for a while so i have support. i really want to keep a good thing going, and i'm the only one in my house doing this. i'm the cook, though, so i'm hoping to slowly convert my husband and daughter. or at least offer more raw options.

good luck with your chickpeas and soup!

Raw foods are living vegetables, nuts, and seeds that have not been heated over 118 degrees. Therefore, steaming foods would be considered cooked.

I have a question about probiotics, is it safe to take probiotics supplement even when not cleansing to keep a balance on good and bad bacteria in between regular cleanses.

Cooked food is any thing cooked or steamed above 115 degrees Fahrenheit (46 degrees Celsius).

It depend on how focused and determined you are. After I complete an extended cleanse I am really ready to eat. What's the purpose of combining the MC and the green smoothie challenge?
