Hey Nymue, Sound like you have a pretty good plan, too. My husband, the primary uncook chef in our home, has enjoyed preparing Jennifer Cornbleet recipes. I, of course, enjoy eating them, LOL. And, yes, we have tried the mushrooms...yum .

You are on the right path. I believe we each get to tailor a pilgrimage that fits our individual lifestyle and taste. Thank you for sharing your journey. It seems we have had similar experiences. I look forward to reading more of your posts.

Hello.... I haven't been posting, but I just did the cleanse for 10 days! yey! Today was my first day off the cleanse. I made "green lemonade" today... 1bunch of celery, 6 stalks of kale, 2 red apples, a whole lemon, 1/2 inch of ginger root (juiced it all up & it made 32oz) took it to work with me today and drank about 12oz... I ate some brocoli and cauliflower and carrots too, but that hurt my stomach really bad... I ate 4 strawberries for dinner... I hope I'm not rushing back into food too quickly but, I'm hungry!!!! Also, I was wondering how long it took everyone to have a BM after finishing the cleanse.. I feel weird that I haven't gone yet today! Should I still be drinking the tea and doing the salt water flush? I feel like the book did really spend much time on that...

Kellilynne, I know what you mean. I was starving after my first MC. I break my fasts the Stanley Burroughs way with two days of fresh-squeezed OJ. Peter recommends the Burroughs way on page 55 of his book. I love this soup (Burroughs book page 26)! After my January 09 fast and two days of FS-OJ, I broke my fast with the raw vegetable soup below. Please be kind to your digestive system. It would hate to hear that you've sensitize your digestive track to the point it prevents you from eating the foods you love, or future MC fasts. You can find more topics in the link at the bottom of this email.

    Hi,

I am on my second day after a 10 day cleanse. Yesterday, I had about 3-4 oranges worth of orange juice. That's not very much, but it's about all I had at the time. The book says to drink more OJ on the second day, and have vegetable soup for dinner. However, my question is how to get or make this vegetable soup? Are there certain vegetables we should go for, or ones we should avoid? Also, what can we cook it with? My mom boiled the soup broth using fresh chicken, thinking that the nutrious juices from the chicken will make a great broth. She also included broccoli, cabbage, carrots, and potatoes. I left out the chicken and potatoes. But can we eat the soup broth with the broccoli, cabbage, and carrots? Or is the poultry broth too heavy or not good for us? And the SITE/BULLETIN BOARD says that if we're used to eating meat and drinking milk or dairy products, we should have fresh fruit and a raw salad on the second day. But the BOOK says to only have OJ and vegetable soup on the 2nd day, and to have fresh fruit and salad and soup on the third day. I'm confused. Any suggestions?

1 of no other, I had written quite a bit for you but I timed out and it got lost. Peter's book, page 55, directs you to page 25-27of Stanley Burroughs book. In a nut shell if you are a former meat eater: First day, several 8 oz glasses of fresh squeezed OJ. Second day, repeat the first day and have it with extra water if you find it too acidic or heavy. Third day, OJ in the morning, soup for lunch, and vegetables, salad, or fruit for dinner. No meat, fish, eggs, bread, pastries, tea, coffee, or milk. Fourth day, resume normal eating, but have the lemonade or fruit for breakfast.

I love Stanley Burroughs' vegetable soup recipe:
Use several kinds of vegetables, one or two kinds of legumes, potatoes, celery, carrots, green vegetable tops, onion, etc. Dehydrated vegetables or vegetable soup powders may be added for extra flavor. Okra or okra powder, chili, curry, cayenne pepper, tomatoes, green peppers, and zucchini squash may be included to good advantage. Brown rice may be used, but not meat or meat stock. Other spices may be added (delicately) for flavor. Use salt delicately as a limited amount of salt is necessary. The less cooking the better. Read the special article on salt in the September 1077 issue of National Geographic magazine.

If you want a raw vegetable soup for after the cleanse, see my posting on March 12.

    I hope this helps

    Question Re: *After The Cleanse*

Hi everyone, I have a dilemma. First, I am on day 6, that's not the problem. My husband promised to take me to my favorite restaurant on our next date night which happens to be two days after I finish the cleanse. This is his way of being supportive and encouraging. The restaurant is Japanese, lots of raw. Is this okay? Can I get away with eating and not feel sick. Another question; does eating raw include raw fish or beef? Also, when is it okay to have alcohol? Please Help. I want desperately to enjoy a Sat. night with the hubby- not end up feeling nausea and getting sick.

Hi Lorene! Dates with the hubby are great ! Maybe you can renegotiate how you spend it this time since it happens so soon after the cleanse.

Take a look at my recent posts over the past few days. Also, use the link below for Newbies. You will find loads of information there to help with your transition. In some arenas raw includes fish or meat, but not this one. The MC book promotes a vegetable based life style. The people I have met on this site tend to be vegan, vegetarian, RAW-VEGAN , or practice a very balanced standard diet. Yeah! Dead foods : meat, fish, poultry, milk, dairy, flour, pastries, bread, pasta, and rice, should be eaten in moderation. You don't want to undo your progress and quickly lose the benefits of the fast. Also, it may be too soon for alcohol.

I hope you are cautious. You are about to transition from detoxing your body and your system is vulnerable and sensitive.

    Hi new member PLEASE HELP!
it's my 2nd day post MC (my first one - I went 10 days ) -- been following instructions per Burroughs except for adding a bit of fruit today. just had soup for dinner. yesterday (with only OJ) I felt great - LOTS of energy! but today..... why do I feel awful? I am so tired, I can hardly play with my 4 year old, I'm getting chills, weakness and feel FAMISHED. from what I've read on the posts above it sounds like I might be still in "detox" mode, but I'm a little concerned and need encouragement! how long does detox mode last? I don't plan on going all raw, though I do eat something raw everyday. HELP! Thanks!

SHM, What a downer...look to the positive side, you are probably almost out of the woods by now. You'll be fine just give it some time. If you haven't read this link, you may find its contents useful. http://therawfoodsite.com/forum/showthread.php?t=619 It says your symptoms will last about four hours. But, no one can really predict this. Keep in touch and let us know how you are doing. Take care, rest, and take your time introducing new foods and savor them. Best.

Hello everyone. I'm on my day 5 of my very first Master Cleansing, and so far so good. I had some craving during day 4 but I was able to get through the day fine.

Before I started the cleans, I would eat junk foods, meat, drink soda more than I drink water on a daily basis. I was looking through the internet about Low Carb, Low Fat Vegetarian diet, and I think I'm going to try that after I break the cleansing on the tenth day.

So far I've lost 11 pounds, my goal is to lose atleast 22 or even 25 pounds. I would like to keep losing weight after I'm done with the cleanse, I am 5'2" and was 205 lbs before the cleansing, now I'm down to 194 lbs, so I still have a lot to lose.

It's a new life for me, and hopefully I can encourage my husband to do the cleansing with me sometime in June, which would be my 2nd MS. He said he'd try it, we'll see

I feel more energized, happy and cleansed. I'm halfway there, and I'm so happy to have found the MS, and this Bulletin Board.

Thank you everyone for all your encouragements. God Bless You All.
    ~Maria~
