    Kathy THANK YOU!

If throwing stuff in my Vitamix will work instead of having using the blank
in the Champion I think I will stick to the juicer I have. I didn't even know
what the blank did . My juicer makes lots of lovely dry carrot
pulp for recipes - so I am good there.

Might still read around a bit but I think you've just convinced me to stay
put. Thanks for that too btw - I'd rather spend money on stuff to put IN
my toys than more toys at this point. lol.

    Have a great evening!

I am coming off 10 days tonight and feel pretty good about myself. I finished what I started and I do feel "cleansed". I have a couple of questions about the next few days, as I'm not going to be going totally raw, but will be eating healthier...

    1) When making the vegetable soup SB gave in his book, is it OK to add just a touch of organic chichen broth?

    2) I want to be sure that I don't take the lax tea or SWF any more, and I don't take the lax tea tonight, right?

    3) If I find that the OJ isn't enough the next two days, can I still drink some LA to tide me over?

    4) I'm guessing that it's OK to keep drinking lots of water?

Thanks for answering...I re-read both SB & PG's books again, but didn't find these answers.

    1. Burroughs p. 26: "no meat or meat stock" in the soup.

    2. Correct.

    3. Sure.

    4. Definitely!

    Congratulations on completing your cleanse!

Day 3 Post Cleanse...so far everything's okay. I haven't had my first real poop yet, though.

I made my special soup Day 2 and ate some later that day. I also started the first probiotic. Day 3's started with the morning probiotic and then my meals were oatmeal w/cinnamon for breakfast, more soup for lunch, and even more of my soup for dinner. I later had a red grapefruit.

Hopefully something will give soon. I feel like I'm just refilling my intestines at this point...

I'm on my 2nd day post cleanse and doing well. I drank grapefruit juice and lemon/limeades yesterday. I've been doing the same again today.

A little while ago, I decided to try a little whole food, so I ate a couple of cherry tomatoes and they were so good! Then I ate a couple of baby carrots. I'm really starting to feel hungry!! I know that I have to go slow and it's really hard. I'm just so ready to eat!!

I'm planning on eating raw for the next few days and then I'll gradually go back to my vegan diet. I really like the McDougall Program and right now, at this time in my life, it's working very well for me. I've been eating a lot of raw foods since the cleanse that I finished back in Sept. '07. I really really love those raw green smoothies! I've been craving one for days!!

I think I should be able to eat a small salad by tomorrow and am looking forward to it.

From Peter's Newletter: This is HUGE!

"1. Victory for consumers on labeling of genetically engineered growth hormone in Pennsylvania!
In my December 2, 2007 newsletter, I urged you to send an email to Pennsylvania's Governor to let him know you value labels on milk saying it comes from cows NOT treated with genetically engineered growth hormone (GEGH), and you do not want their use restricted. His Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture wanted to prohibit labeling of milk saying it did NOT come from cows treated with GEGH. That's right. They wanted to prevent consumers from being able to make a choice between milk from cows treated with GEGH and those that weren't!
The ban was rescinded January 17 after a review by Pennsylvania Governor Rendell due to consumer outcry. Your emails and calls to Governor Rendell urging him to not to put this ban in place worked!"

I sent an email! I'm so happy this worked!

    Love,

I'm sorry, I know it's gross, and not ladylike, and it's embarrassing to be posting this. But I need to know if anyone else has experienced these "eggy" burps and can shed some light on this for me. Thanks!
Hi Marina Mermaid: I've experienced this a number of times. All but one of those times, it was in my SAD diet days, and I ate too much dessert. I thought it was due to an overdose of sugar, but I have a vague memory of reading somewhere that, when there's an overproduction of bile, it tastes and smells like rotten eggs. So maybe it was the overindulgence in the fats in the desserts that did it.

That would explain the last time I had a few of those eggy burps: last month, soon after I'd come off the MC, when I was eating raw. I think I ate too many nuts (not alot, but I guess too many for having recently come off the MC).

I think I also got kinda gassy and bloated. (But no stomach cramping or vomiting.)

Knock-Knock-Knock. Hi everyone, can I come in?

I have completed 21 days MC and yesterday I still had the SWF. I then had four LAs then early afternoon I had freshly juiced apple and pineapple. Believe me that it was fitting enough for the Gods. Later I had cucumber, celery, carrot and apple juice. WOW Had to consciously slow down.

This morning I had two LAs and later apple, celery, cucumber, yellow cling peach and baby spinach smoothey. Then one LA followed by the remainder of the apple, celery, cucumber yellow cling peach and baby spinach I had made earlier. I am also taking probiotic.

At the moment I am really feeling wonderful.

    Light and Love.
    Namaste, Gerry.

I've finished my 4th day post-cleanse. I've been "pushing the edge" (okay, breaking the rules ) at times, but not enough to feel really bad. I started on cashews and dried apricots (one of my fav raw snacks) yesterday. I'd like to eat more nutty treats, but my body doesn't want to, so I won't!

I've been thinking I'm just coming off a 10-day MC. But, over the past 2 months, I've fasted for 27 days: a 10-day MC, an 11-day MC, plus 6 days of preparatory colon cleansing with diluted citrus juices and then nothing but psyllium and bentonite shakes (that part didn't work so well...none of the p&b that went in came out! ). And 30 days of 100% raw.

I need a raw replacement for a good pot of veggie soup...something I can eat lots of (if I must!) without suffering from too much. Not smoothies (I wanna chew...although my lumpy smoothies are almost chewable!). Not salad (although I did have a pretty good Waldorf-type cabbage-fennel salad today). Maybe a big jar of marinated veggies... Maybe I'm having an attack of cooked soup envy just because I can't have it.
