Yes, I agree! The Vita-Mix recipe book has disappointingly crappy ingredients!
We just have to stick together, rawbies, and make our own way!

This is Hilarious at first and it's entitled, "If Michangelo's David Lived In the US Today". If Michelangelo were to create a symbolic sculpture for today, it’s not impossible it would look something like this photo; (it's actually pretty sad but at first look it's darned funny). Read the Article here.

Hi:
Just finished reading the book and plan to start the MC Jan 1. Planning ahead a bit....where can I find the recipe for the soup that you are to start back on after the cleanse (after the OJ)? I thought I could find it on here.
Check out the General Help for Newbies thread:
http://www.therawfoodsite.com/forum/...ead.php?t=1154
On page 1 there's a Table of Contents. Scroll down and you'll find an article on how to prepare the soup.
Happy cleansing!
Kathy

My drastic silence (especially for me) has meant exactly what it looked
like - Iiiiiii fell off the wagon. In a BIG way.
Two days before Christmas I had a dinner party. The dinner day itself I did
really good. I did have cooked foods - but only veggies and most of them
were only barely steamed. No breads... no dessert... a little wine...
However - the day before and the day after? What. A. Joke.
I was stressed about the party, then stressed to finish Xmas eve and
I ate to prove it. It was amazing the things that had stayed so far off my
temptation list for so long - that I was finding myself eating before I
even realized I was losing my willpower...
On the bright side it made me immediately sick and I have been since.
Fitting punishment.
All I can say thank goodness I already had a cleanse planned. I am running
back to my SWF and LA's in the morning with open arms... My raw attempts
will be waiting for me on the other side shining bigger and brighter than
ever I'm sure.
Thank you ladies for your kind words re: my last post. Glad I have somewhere
to turn when I am done and once again trying to cement habits...
Happy 2008 everyone...

Thanks Res!
You people are the only reason I was able to start cleanse 2 today with
a decent amount of maintained weightloss and an unimaginable amount of
excitement! I know on the other side I'll again have the support I need to
fight for raw again - and maybe even win this time!
Much love -
New D.

Dear New Direction,
I know the guilt and sickness you recently experienced. I was invited to dinner the week of Christmas and the hosts were SO sweet, they said "we heard you're eating vegan, so we went to whole foods and found this vegan whole grain pasta, and vegan cake!" I felt so bad, and I didn't want to be rude, so I thought, "one plate of pasta won't kill me." I paid for it later that night, spending a couple hours in the bathroom. THEN, two days later, all hell broke loose. I spent seven hours in the middle of the night until dawn vomiting and eliminating everything I had eaten in the past two days.
I've fallen off the wagon a few times before too, and it's so fascinating how when you're eating organic/raw/vegan, you don't even miss the crap in the Standard American Diet, but when you fall off, you start to get a taste for the junk again, and if you don't stop it, then before you know it you're eating everything in sight wondering, "how did I let this happen?"
Good luck on your next cleanse, and the great people on the bulletin board will be here to support you!
