So this morning has been crazy so one of the managers brought in donuts for all of us. lol I whipped out my SmartMonkey bar cereal and munched to my hearts content on a; cacao cookie bar, raw sunflower seeds, fresh organic gala apple, buckwheat krispies and vanilla almond mylk. My stomach is happy - I have no donut crash and burn insanity with my body and I don't feel sick. Yes, donuts appeal to me, but when I think about trans fats, white sugar, white flour and zero nutrition it loses the pull ALOT! I'm no angel but boy o boy do I love raw food and YOU GUYS!

Don't know why that post of yours made me think of this, Res, but who cares? LOL.

I used to hate carob. It was always chocolate for me, thank you very much.

And even in this last year, eating really almost all raw, I've always used the raw cacao powder for everything chocolaty. Then I learned that carob has like a fraction of the fat that cocoa does. I looked for raw carob online and could not find it anywhere!

Then I happened to check in my very own health food store, and there it was: raw carob, at a fraction of the price of raw cacao! So I got some to try.

Now, this was about four days before I started cleansing, so I haven't had a chance to give it a real audition. But I put it in my frozen banana ice cream that I make almost every night and it was delicious! I couldn't really tell that much difference between that and the cacao.

Maybe my tastes have actually changed here. Or maybe raw carob is a lot different from the carob I was trying 30 years ago. But once I get off the cleanse, I'm going to make Sim's chocolate sauce using carob. That'll be a good taste test.

But even if I'm still attached to cacao in that recipe, I'm sure I'm going to enjoy the carob in various fudge balls, ice cream, shakes, etc. And if that cuts the fat and calories, so much the better!

    But that's a ways away .....

I'm not sure what you mean. It sounds like you're trying to do lemonade fasts for a few days at a time without any laxatives?

I don't think it's a good idea, but perhaps others will have comments.

This talk of carob and cacao is making me crave something something chocolaty.

Anyways, eating raw foods has been going pretty well and it's very satisfying, but I still have a problem. I keep eating even when I'm full. I tried not to today, but if food is there I eat it. Especially foods like seeds or raisins...I tend to over eat those because I can without actually having to prepare anything. I feel like I'm gaining weight because of it and that doesn't feel good. I suppose "feel" isn't the right word because raw foods are making me feel really great...I seem happier after eating them. I just don't like seeing the tummy....but I had a bigger tummy before the cleanse so I shouldn't complain too much.
I may do some alfalfa sprouting this weekend, and I don't know when I last had sprouts, if ever.

irhxcbcziuzxs: I agree with mtmouse; I think you should do the laxative tea because even though it can cause uncomfortable symptoms, it's worth it. Towards the middle of the cleanse and after I think the tea made more of a difference than the swf although the swf if important too. So, if you want good results the laxative is needed.

    Question Re: *After The Cleanse*

    Hi Everyone!

I am actually on Day Nine of the Master Cleanse. This is the second one for me, since May, and I have vowed to go all raw afterwards so I don't slip-up and have to do the MC a third time anytime soon.

I have plans to leave Albuquerque and go to the annual Raw Spirit Fest in Sedona Arizona. I plan to go to a lecture by Victoria Boutenko in Scottsdale on Wednesday and, going to both places, they have a couple of raw food restaurants I am dying to try. (There are NONE in my city!)

The trouble is, of course, if you do the math. Do I have to get in at least ten days of the MC before doing juices? See my plan was to end the MC today - on Day Nine - and do the juices tomorrow (Tuesday), and hopefully be ready to partake in raw food restaurants and Boutenko's workshop on Wednesday. Is this at all realistic, or am I just setting myself up for jeopardy?

The Skinny on 4 fad diets

This is a hoot! The Master Cleanse gets praise and gets slammed (along with the other "fad diets"). The comments are hilarious on one hand and asking for a fight on the other. lol

Okay I am haivng a problem. After the cleanse I am 100% raw. I bought Victoria Boutenlos books and have been drinking my green smothies daily. But I am gaining the weight back that I lost on the cleanse. THis is not good because I still need to lose weight. I am still about 30lbs to where I want to be. I do yoga and pilates. I'm not sure why I'm not losing any more. Should I be doing more cardio than my daily walking? Could this bwe my problem? HELP!!!

hang in there. what do you mean by 'gaining the weight back'. 3-5 pounds+ is a given and does not equal gaining weight back, it's just food in the digestive system.

are you overeating? how do you feel? how do your clothes feel?

i am all for cardio -- i just don't want you to upset yourself with something that is expected.

post a day's food intake, we can analyze.

if you go raw, you will be fine! hang in there. transitioning back is scary.

    Talking Re: *After The Cleanse*

Okay I have gained 6 lbs back but I did not know that 3-5 pounds was food in my digestice system. phew!!! I thought i was gaining it all back. My clothes fit fine. Great actually. I've had to go shopping twice since last month for new clothes. I guess I am just obssessed with the number on the scale. I blame our culture for that one. I don't think I am overeating because I really don't eat much. Here is what a typical day is for me.
Morning- banana with some type of nuts on top (walnuts, almonds etc.)
    10-11- green smoothie
around 2- some fruit (mango, apple, whatever I have in the kitchen)
    4-5- green smoothie
dinner- usually a salad of greens and veggies

that's what I am eating now. Before I had a horrible diet consisting of takeout, pizza, and just not healthy things. I am feeling more energized now. Better than I have in a long time. I use to be on antidepressants and anxiety medicaiton but now just after a month I am not longer on them because I don't need them. I guess I am doing everyhting right. ITs just that I am so new to this I don't want to mess it up because I want to keep the good feeling I have. It's weird, but I have nevr been so clear or happy. I even changed my Majorin school to something that would make me happier. I was a business major because I grew up with paprents telling me that I needed something that would surely make me money. I was absolutely miserable studying business. Now I am an art history major and am thrilled with my decison. ITs sounds funny but I don't think I would have made the change if I had not done the MC or started eating raw. Before I was going through life with a clouded mind. NOw I see clearer and am an better wife and mother for it. Plus its great that my family is trying to make the transition with me. My husband still loves his steak but drinks the green smoothis with me

Aww jmommy, what a cool story, a cool major change and a cool hubby. As Kiropa surmised, you're doing fine. If you feel like you want to branch out a bit more foodwise (down the road) first check out the 30 day challenge thread and then the lemonhead recipe box.
