    Hi Everyone!

SOS! Please help... I did a 30-day MC (my first one ever) and lost 21.5 lbs. Today is my 5th day after the MC and all I've been eating/drinking is fresh squeezed OJ and veggie soups... Why did I gain 4 lbs back already?

Since I started eating the veggies in the soup I gained .5 one day, .5 the next and 3 lbs when I ate some tofu in the soup...The soup yesterday I did buy at a Thai restaurant, I didn't make it myself.

I do NOT want to gain the weight back. I'm thinking about going back to the MC for a few more days...

    PLEASE HELP!

Alicein1land: How did you continue to lose after you stopped the cleanse??? what did you eat?

    Thanks for your support

should i be worried that i was only three days post cleanse?
I don't believe you should be worried. Think about it - people get pregnant all the time in a pre-cleanse state and toxic! You've created a nice environment for your baby to grow in. Congratulations!

Funny how you're drawn to lemonade and it doesn't come back up. At this point you really can't eat if you're not hungry - but stay hydrated. You'll have an appetite soon enough. Eat well okay?

Chinita: Welcome to what most of us have gone through.

Gaining a few lbs actually makes sense. There's nothing in your colon when you end your cleanse. When you start eating again it takes the body a while (days) to adjust to digesting food again and the colon fills up a bit. That's why it's important to not over-eat (I'm not saying you did, this is in general). We need to work with our bodies so that's the part of the journey that you're currently on.

If you haven't eliminated yet, that could be part of it as well.

I am about to start my first cleanse. I finished the book and am very determined to succeed. The raw food diet is new to me and very intriging. I want to be healthier and feel better. I've spent many years feeling sluggish and being tired and I never new why. I plan on reading the recommended book while on the cleanse so I can continue a healthy lifestyle. Can anyone give me info or expirence on the differences they felt on a raw vegetarian diet versus vegan. I want to make a change but I'm not sure I'm ready to give up eggs and fish. Also, any thoguhts on having an occasional alcoholic beverage while on a vegan/vegitarian diet after the cleanse? I realize it's not something you want to put in your body on a regular basis, but how about for special occasions? Would wine be the best thing to drink? Any advice would be great! Thanks!

    Hi Res:

Thanks so much for your help. It does make sense... i just get so scared because I really like the way I've been feeling and I lost a lot of weight and I want to make sure I don't gain it back. But as of right now, everything I eat - even if it's a simple salad bloats me. I can still feel it the next day. I thought of going to the lemonade again for a couple of days just to make sure i don't gain a bunch of weight back.

Also, how soon could I do the MC again? Not that I'm obsessed, but I really liked how I felt.

    Thanks for your help!

    hi everyone!

finally finished my second cleanse on last saturday. i've been doing well. i do my version of green protein shakes in the morning and i'm set on becoming a vegetarian(while trying to add vegan/raw foods where possible). my question to all of you is how can i get more protein. yesterday i had my shake for breakfast, beans and a salad for lunch, and a homemade bean burrito w/cheese( ) w/romaine lettuce for dinner. if anybody has more examples and or ideas of how to sneak more protein in my diet...that would be lovely!
    cheers

Oh lordy fantasi: You've come to the right place. Take a peek in the Lemonhead recipe box and also the 30 days raw challenge threads. There are SO many nut recipes (protein) so you won't be hurtin for protein. Also there's nothing wrong with eating raw cheese if your body adapts to it.

Ever had almond milk? It was once typo'd as "almost milk" and it's SO good! You can use it on raw cereal and in smoothies or just as a treat.

chinita: Burroughs states that you can do the cleanse up to 4 times a year.

Tiffany: It would take us a year to tell you about all the fun we've had on this wild journey. Use the search feature to look for specific threads or topics, or just start at the beginning and read through.

I was all raw for approx 3 months - it was a good experience but there are definitely things that my body needs that aren't raw and that's where I'm at now. I eat organic free range eggs on occasion and wine when needed. I don't think it's so much about do's and don'ts but about what works for you. We're each on our own journey but intersecting with each other for stretches of time and then off again. One thing I will add that I now believe is of the utmost importance is to buy "organic" and only "organic". I'm just learning but perhaps one of the Guru's can pitch in here and give more insight.

Hi chinita145: I continued to lose for almost a week after the cleanse. But I was very gassy and bloating and didn't feel well once I started eating solid food (raw fruits and vegies) so I didn't eat much. Once the gastric distress passed and I could eat more, I gained some of the weight back, but have been holding steady since.

I'm currently eating 60-70% raw, w/ some other things (fish, chicken, a little cheese, a little bread) thrown in. I have to agree w/ MCconvert and the gluten, as I did not tolerate the bread well at all! Both my mom and her sister have celiac sprue (gluten intolerance/allergy) and I have wondered if I have a similar problem. I have not been tested, though.
