    Hey cd2318,
It's good to hear from you again. It sounds like you had a fun trip. I'll probably not do another cleanse until at least late Dec. or early Jan. if then.
I don't have a problem at Thanksgiving or Christmas because when my family gets together, we always have both meat and veggie dishes so that everyone can enjoy their meal. It's way too soon for me to think about another cleanse right now!!! I'm enjoying eating again and don't want to think about lax tea and SWF's again yet!!!!

It's weird,.... most people break their cleanses and start getting concerned about no BM's after a few days. This time, I had my 1st one on day 3 post cleanse and have been going a few times each day since. I think it might be because I broke my fast doing all raw food. I drank juice for 2 days and then just started eating the fruit whole and then added raw veggies. I also drank lots of water. I didn't eat any cooked food until the end of day 4 and it was just a little.
I've been starting each day with raw fruit/veggie smoothies (lots of green veggies). Believe me, they will send you to the BR.!! I've been making the smoothies in my Vita-Mix and they are very filling. It takes me a good part of the morning to drink my entire concoction!! That's good, because it keeps me satisfied and keeps my mind off of wanting to eat things I don't need!!
I've been drinking a glass full for breakfast and then after it has had time to settle, I do my daily exercise. Then I shower and dress and I just sip on the rest of my smoothie until it's gone.
Lunch for this week has mostly been tossed salad with a few beans or nuts thrown in it. I also sprouted mung beans and a zesty seed mixture and have been enjoying the sprouts. I put some of them in my smoothies too!
My dinners have been the time when I've added more cooked foods in, mostly cooked veggies so far. Last night I had a fresh veggie stir-fry, Thai style, and a little brown rice. It was very good, but the rice actually made me feel too full. I haven't tried any cooked potato yet, but might this weekend.

Because of previous illnesses and health concerns, I don't eat any animal products at all, including dairy which I'm allergic to anyway, and no processed oils. This is the McDougall Program, and by eating this way for the past 5 yrs, I've been able to eliminate about 4/5 prescription meds that I used to take for various illnesses, each of which I no longer have. I cured my illnesses with diet, which is the way it should be done. The only prescription med that I keep around now is one I use if my occasional hive break-outs get out of control.

I started back on my probiotic the 4th day post cleanse. That was when I really started whole food again. Sometimes starting the probiotic too soon, can make you feel ill or at least it does me. I take probiotics most of the time because I have a lot of food allergies and I feel better and feel like my body digests my food much better when I take them.

Res, congrats on finishing your cleanse!!! I hope you know how much your presence here helps us and I for one, greatly appreciate you. ((((((Hugs))))))

cd2318: A massage sounds lovely. I think I'll book one for next week. It's great to see you here.

Matty! CONGRATULATIONS! I knew you could do it!

Just eat the way that makes sense to you and works for you. More greens and fruits and go for everything "Organic". I'm a meat eater so I'm going to do basically the same thing you are. Just a bit of grass fed free range whatever but not everyday. YOU ROCK!

Cristy: Thanks for the link. Aniphyo.com has some nifty Smartmonkey bars. I'm waiting for my order.

    Holy crap yes!

Lin: I'm not going to eat anything cooked either to break my cleanse. It's juice and miso broth that Ani Phyo talked about. I picked up the miso today.

I'd like to get off this thyroid medicine. I'm beginning to think my diagnosis is a bunch of crap OR the cleanse and food lifestyle changes I've made over the last few years have cleared things up. I've gone from a 60mg tab to 15mg tab. The endocrinologist got mad when I tried to talk to her about it and she dismissed me. lol

Thank you for your kind words. This board draws the most amazing people and you're one of them!

Res, would you mind sharing your recipe for miso soup?

I finished day 10 yesterday and squeezed grapefruit juice mixed with fresh oj 3x today. Tonight I had 3 bowls of lettuce, yum with a little bit of avocado and a little bit of favorite dressing (vegan). I feel good. I did have a bout of the runs this morning right before work leaving me worried about having to zoom out of the classroom but I did not have any more at all.

Lin: I'm kind of winging it really. Ani talked about miso soup and buying the non pasturized organic brown kind. I did that today. But before that, I read about a Japanese man who turned 112 this week. He said he eats miso soup with seaweed (he called it waka- something) every day with a little rice, so - what I'm going to do is just put a large tablespoon (I think) in warm spring water with the seaweed (after I find it at Whole Foods) and if I can't find the seaweed I'll use raw nori. Then let it sit and soften. Then eat it.

Thats not until Sunday though. Ani has a few soups that probably wouldn't be good for me at the moment because they include a cup of olive oil (recipe is for 4 people) mixed with 3 to 5 cups of water and then some raw veggies. I'm easing back into food so it will be a while before I can say how it tasted. BUT I'll BE GLAD TO TELL YOU!

Terrys: That's a pretty quick transition to solid food! Glad you didn't get sick.

    Dear Senior members,

I finshed my first cleanse this week - 12 days! I prepared and ate my beloved veggie broth (and several veggies) last night. Afterwards, I got a headache. Today, I STILL have the headache! Is this most likely

    A. A side effect that happens when one resumes eating
    B. An allergy to something in the soup
    C. A coincidence that has nothing to do with eating or soup

Insights are appreciated. I haven't posted a lot, but I have done a TON of reading and research on this site over the past couple weeks. Thanks so much for contributing your knowledge, experience and support

I'm pretty sure this is where I want to post this since it's "after the cleanse" but I haven't eaten yet. Spent the morning making Cohen's beautiful pizza. Take a peek. *giggle*

moonmythb: Did you break your cleanse with OJ? Or did you go straight to soup? I don't know why you have the headace.

I broke my cleanse this morning with OJ and I have a headache. lol Most likely it's because the OJ doesn't agree with me. I stopped using OJ about 8 cleanses ago but decided just to do it this time. Wrong...

Hang in there and take it easy with the food. Most people start eating WAY too soon. You need to ease back into eating. Work with yourself and not against. Hang in there and drink a bunch of water.
