Congrats Peanut! Time flies for sure (perhaps not for you during those 32 days )

I just received a bit of disconcerting news from Dr Mercola about Probiotics. Just like the rest of you I pick and choose the information that works best for me. I don't have "all my eggs in one basket" so to speak but I do respect Dr. Mercola and his research.

I happen to believe that after "upping" my brand of probiotics that my 'condition' actually improved and I'm going to continue to increase them for a while until I stabilized on my new raw food path.

Here's the info and I hope this generates some lively conversation.

Well...I copied it into Word to edit it and post it here but it's still a big mess - and I don't think you can access the info unless you're a member (which takes two minutes to subscribe). I still may try to paste it here so forgive me if it's a dire mess.

    Love,

Okay, I decided not to post it because I think it's just a sales pitch, tsk, tsk, tsk Dr Mercola.

    Use them though.

But if we're supposed to use them, what's "disconcerting" about it all?

Oh, sorry to leave you hanging like that. lol Basically he was saying "Not all Probiotics are created equal".... well we already knew that! So he was pushing an "all encompassing probiotics" brand that he's selling on his website.

Basically and especially nowadays we need the good bacteria in our systems and we need an outside source for it because of the air, water, food we (SAD) normally eat, tears down the good bacteria.

Hi all! Skinnyminnie is back! And I am very ashamed of myself. Am almost back to totally cooked foods again! YIKES! Went to New York, ate really bad, ribs, etc. And last night had spaghetti and meatballs, coffee, ice cream. I feel like such a failure! I feel like I wasted those 10 days on the cleanse! Part of the reason being I don't have all the necessary equipment yet. My father-in-law bought me a Dehydrator (Mr. Coffee - 5 tray) and it's very nice but had no instruction booklet so my husband has to try to find me one on EBay. I had a juicer and it was a piece of crap, got another one, another piece of crap (broken now) and need a new one. Don't have a food processor yet and am feeling so overwhelmed since I haven't even familiarized myself yet at a health food store to find out what half that stuff is in the new cookbooks I bought.

Also, my son in LA says the there's a Master Cleanse craze going on over there. His fiance is on the cleanse but said she had a hard time with the salt water flush. Said she ground the salt from those chunks. I didn't do that! Was I supposed to???? I just used it the way it was and measured it the way it came in those large grounds. I thought it only had to be ground if you wanted to use it for table salt. Now I'm not sure if I even did the cleanse correctly! someone please set me straight! Mtmouse, are you there?????

    Hi skinnieminnie!

    Yes, I'm here!

Don't worry about the salt. If your SWF worked for you during your cleanse, it worked! All the grinding does is make the salt dissolve a bit faster.

And as to the reversion to cooked food, that's not such a terrible thing. Especially, as you say, if you don't yet have all your ducks in a row. There's nothing terrible about cooked food (well, some is terrible, LOL). It's just that you're losing some healthy stuff by cooking. You can always start by simply adding more salads and easily prepared raw stuff to whatever else you're eating, and transition slowly when you decide that's how you want to eat and you have what you need to make that transition easy.

So don't be so hard on yourself! A cleanse is never wasted. You've learned lots even if you didn't turn into somebody perfect (like me and everyone else here, LOLOLOL!). And you have time now to start implementing small changes to change your direction. If you want to. No one says you have to! Just start listening to your body and see what it says.

Anyway, come over into our "30-day raw challenge" thread. Maybe sometime soon you'll want to try something like that. I tried it to help change my habits, and it's been great!

I just can't get away from being drawn to this place!

See the following article...unbelievable. The FDA is going to determine if's it's OK for "us" to eat contaminated chickens. Thanks FDA, I think I'll decide that for myself...

I recently just finished my first MC. I went for 22 days. The first two days after cleanse I just drank OJ throughout the day, then the next two, I drank OJ and the homemade vegetable broth. Yesterday and today, I did the OJ in the morning, broth when I got home from school, and a few hours later ate some raspberries and strawberries. So, tomorrow is day 6 post-cleanse and I'm concerned on how I should be eating. When should I eat, how many calories, what I should eat...ya know stuff like that. I also plan on eating raw for these next two weeks. Does anyone have any advice for me as to how I should be eating, or can anyone provide examples of how they ate after coming off a twenty-something MC? I really would like to keep the weight that I've lost off. Please and thank you! =D =D =D
