    congrats and welcome aaalllen.
i always start on my second day of juice. mostly because i forget the first day. i don't think it makes a big difference when you start.

I'm back. I'm about 8 days post cleanse and for the most part I am doing well. Thanks to you all for posting recipes!

Though I am not 100% raw, I am eating SO much better than before the cleanse. I've been replacing one meal every other day (and twice on weekends) with a green smoothie. I'm used to "going" once or twice a week if I'm lucky. Now? Well, now...I am like a old clock...well, an old clock that makes trips to the bathroom. I know, I know, probably too much info, but this is a GOOD THING! Also, I've only gained back 1.5 pounds of the MC loss. My pants fit great!

I'm going to do another 7 bto 10 day cleanse right before Thanksgiving and see how that does. I feel soooo much better than pre-MC, but I feel like I didn't get a complete cleanse. I don't want to do more than 10 days at a time for many reasons but does anyone have a strong reason against only a month between cleanses? Peanutterb...you wrote something about this in another thread. Have you seen or heard of any adverse affects...other than the addiction factor (I totally agree with you on this). I want to be squeaky clean for the holidays. It will also help keep me on track food wise as I don't feel the need to eat like cuh-rap after the cleanse.

So, if anyone is interested, I've been using Nature's Sunshine's pH Green Zone mixed into fresh or frozen fruit (organic if I can get it) about 5 times a week. They also have a meal replacement called Ultimate Green Zone that you mix with Juice. I like the chunky fruit in mine. YUM! My sytems LOVES LOVES LOVES this.

    Has anyone heard from 'brokoli"?

Hey, I'm just wondering if any of you have tips for me. I seem to just have TOO MUCH FOOD! I'm almost a month post cleanse and I'm still working on the stuff I bought a few weeks ago. I just made the carrot top recipe today (Thanks, Sopheetsa!). The carrots (organic) were already starting to wilt in the fridge, so I had to get it made. I bought them a week ago thinking I was at most a few days from fixing them. I'm the only one eating this stuff at my house, so a little goes a long way.

I made a great green smoothie, based on notes from many of you, but I ended up drinking it all at once ... and it probably could have fed me and a few of my friends. I guess I could have frozen the extra? I love shopping for fresh stuff, but haven't figured out how to get just what I need for a few days. Any thoughts? Or maybe this is just a dumb question. And I'll have to keep working to figure it out. Anyway, thanks for listening!
Thank you for posting the "All-Creatures recipe book. It will definitely come in handy for me starting Sunday. Today is my 10th day of the MC and tomorrow I start my orange juice drink.

My question is: Is there anything else I should take besides the orange juice on my first day after the cleanse? Thank you.

brockli made it to 11/12 and then broke her MC in a way she thought she'd regret. she said she'd be back in feb or so. we were on the say day, too *pout*

i had my veggie soup today based on binary blonde's veggie soup recipe. i subbed kidney beans for lentils and some brown rice. now i feel gas-ey. i did have some small BMs today... kinda strange after reading all the posts about people not having BMs until days after.

Hey Eagletrip, you can also have grapefruit juice on your orange fruit days. Take it slow, it's a critical time so just make sure you break the cleanse slowly and according to Burroughs reaction.

GravyGirl, glad to hear you've been doing so good post MC. Personally I don't think it's a good idea to do cleanses so soon in between, I'm just worried about what that could do to your metabolism and digestive system. But others have done it and been fine. It's up to you really. I'd suggest you take it easy eating during the month in between, you know, eating mostly raw and taking it easy, keeping your calorie intake low and see how it goes.

    aaa:

I can't remember if it's Burroughs book or another I was reading that says you can add beans or rice to a soup to break a cleanse, but it seems a bit too heavy to me. Perhaps that's just me though. But beans in general make people gassy so I don't think you need to worry about it being anything other than the beans or just digestion kicking in again. Maybe bypass the beans on the next bowl.

Thanks Peanutterb...you are right, I don't want to mess up my system. I'll keep on keepin on until January. The unfortunate thing is that my body doens't like all raw vegetarian fare. Because of the endometriosis and the associated side effects, I need more protein and iron. Trust me, I've tried the vegetarian lifestyle and "you can get all the protein you need from vegetables" just doens't apply to me. I do, however, stay away from the hard to digest proteins. I stick to fish and other non-farmed meats. The human body is equipped to processed meats...just ask our hunter gatherer historical humanoids. Wait...we can't...they're all dead. Hmmm.

Off to make a green smoothie! Yay!

Today I made "toona" from my complete raw foods cook book. without a juicer or foodprocesser. (did everything in a blender and by hand with a knife)

it is awesome! i haven't had tuna in forever and I used to make awesome tuna salad and this stuff here is delicious. It's creamy and I put it on a salad and devoured it. I'm going to add some apple and cucumber to some later and enjoy. Also thinking of having it in a lettuce wrap. wow it was really really good.
OK, now *I* have to tell somebody .... that 'toona' is GREAT!! Mmmmm..... I cut the recipe by 1/3 and it still makes a lot. Thanks for posting the recipe, Peanut - I've ordered the book and look forward to more treats.

What are you guys trying to do to me? Now I'm soaking some nuts!

And now I have a question about soaking nuts. It seems like a lot of the raw recipes use them--and you really have to plan ahead. So is it a good idea to just have some soaking all the time in the fridge? Do you soak a bunch first, then dry them and store those instead?

Just wondering how to manage them, is all.
