Thread: Question about weight loss

    Default Question about weight loss

Got a question.... I know the main purpose of the cleanse is not weight loss, but while reading all of the posts on here I have noticed that a lot of people lose a substantial amount of weight (around a pound a day) while others say they lose little to no weight or even gain a little.
I would have thought pretty much everyone would lose some weight (if they had any to lose), just from the very low number of calories they were consuming during the cleanse.
So, why do you think that is? Is it just that our bodies react differently to the cleanse? Or is there something that the people losing weight are doing differently?

As for myself.... I am doing the cleanse to clean out all the old "bad stuff", as a kind-of jump start to eating better, and less, to hopefully lose a few pounds and feel better overall. I usually lose weight pretty easily but haven't really lost any on the cleanse (this is my day , and I have done the lower amount of maple syrup recommended for weight loss from day 1.
I almost feel like I am retaining water weight from this which is not something I usually have an issue with. I'm just wondering if there is anything else I should do to make sure I am losing weight while cleansing. (I have followed the cleanse perfectly so far, with the exception of not using the cayenne on a couple of days because I just can hardly stand it no matter how I take it!) Maybe I should drink more water, but I don't know if that would help, I feel like I'm drinking so much already!

Any suggestions that have worked for anyone else?

Are you eliminating enough? Do you do the SWB or TEA in the morning? The MC is just a guideline for the fast - we will all have individual experiences throughout our fasting periods. We are all individuals anyway, right!

Maybe you should keep trying the cayenne until you can handle it - it heats up the blood [when your blood heats up, your body heats up and acts like a sauna or when you exercise - that only means better elimination] and it does help emulsify the fecal matter in the colon [alongside the lemon juice] - hence with the MC, we want to eliminate as many layers of junk clogging up our colon.

And besides, if you can keep going, you should. Our bodies will only eliminate the bad stuff - good tissue will not be lost. Peter said he believes the crap in our colon probably comes off in layers and takes about 7 days for each layer - so that's the reason for everyone saying days 7, 14, 21 are detox days. But it could be different for each person, again.

If I were you I'd keep going until I reached my goal. If you want, you could stop, but probably won't get the full benefits of the MC if you do. I stopped for 4 days and kicked myself and immediately went back - now I feel great!

I'm also underweight and I have lost around 8lbs so far. I'm assuming the greater [baggage] you do carry, the more you will lose - makes sense, right? If you've got hardly anything to lose, your body is probably in the stage where its getting into your existing cells and finally repairing and healing! A lot of people would be glad to be at that stage, that is if you are.

Think positive! If we could only see what is happening inside of us -we'd definitely be AMAZED and probably would never want to get off the MC! hehe

I do think I am eliminating enough, I've done the full amount of the SWF every morning and the tea every night. I've tried the last couple days to force myself to use more cayenne and I can feel my stomach rumble a little after that so I think it does do something, lol!

This is the end of my day 9 so tomorrow I'm going to be done!! I roller skate competitively and we have a competition the next weekend so I want to stop with enough days left to get all of my energy back and my stomach handling more normal food for that. I might do the cleanse again in a few months for longer. I never thought I'd make it this far so I didn't even consider trying to go longer than 10 days when I started, I thought it would be a miracle if I made it 5-7!

I'm not under weight but not overweight either. I would like to lose about 10 lbs but just because I think I look better that way. Either way I'm right in the normal weight range. So you're probably right that since I don't have much to lose it may be harder for me to lose it. I will have to look at the positive side that maybe that means I was healing elsewhere instead of losing weight!!

I wasn't hungry this whole time until yesterday and then today I am starving so tomorrow is the final challenge!! Almost done!!

Red face Re: Question about weight loss

I am on day 10 of following the cleanse rules to a 'T'. I am obesely overweight... at only 5'5" I started at 230 lbs (female). I have only lost 6.5 lbs.

Each day I have walked for 30 - 60 minutes at a sweating pace, taken Epsom Salt baths and have reduced as much stress as is possible. I am still eliminating solid wastes 3-6x/day

Does anyone know how I can stimulate the weight loss?

One of the things that might interfere your goal, which is losing weight, is toxic build-up. You might knew this already, but you can't have the results overnight. You should maintain your healthy lifestyle, and before you know it, you are one slim hottie! Good luck!
