Default Master Cleanse - Lemon - Teeth Complications?

    Hello,
Has any research been done regarding the lemonade diet and teeth problems?
Many dentists state that lemon juice is harmful to your teeth. I know that when I was a little kid I was dared to hold lemon juice in my mouth for 2 minutes.. My teeth were extremely sensitive for over 2 weeks.. (not very smart
I was interested to know if during the prolonged use 10-20 days of fasting.. Do you feel any effects from it? It would also be helpful to know if people who have fasted on and off over a long period of time have experienced any teeth problems...

May have to sip it thru a straw..

I did 28 days my first cleanse and had no teeth problems.
As a matter of fact, my gums and everything felt much better.
So I don't know if the lemons can make the teeth sensetive... maybe others can address this topic differently.
If you always do what you have always done.. you will always get what you have always gotten !!!!!!

    dear Jeremy!

I've been having "sensitive" teeth all during the cleanse. Peter says

"On the teeth, I am only aware of two people out of several hundred whose teeth "hurt" or were sensitive during the cleanse. In both cases, it was temporary. (One of which was my wife.) It is very, very infrequent. I've heard of people saying that the lemon juice is so acidic that you should rinse your mouth or brush your teeth after each lemonade, but I don't think that's the problem for those very, very few people.

I believe that the problem is that they have insufficient alakine mineral reserves (calcium, primarily) with which to neutralize the acidic wastes they are releasing. So, their body has to take the calcium from the teeth and bones! The proper handling is to drink a lot of green vegetable drinks (best natural source of organic calcium) before or after the cleanse to restore the mineral reserves. If the teeth become a problem during the cleanse, quit the cleanse."

    also:

"The MC requires an alkaline mineral reserve (calcium, primarily) to neutralize the acidic toxins that are mobilized. It may be possible that a person either has too little to begin with or does too many MCs too close together. When that happens, their teeth get sensitive and hurt and they may lhave some temporary hair loss.

The solution would be to drink lots of fresh green vegetable juice, which is rich in calcium, before or after the cleanse."

I work at a medical research institute, and watching me squeeze my lemons, one guy made sure to tell me that he published a paper in "The American Journal of Nutrition" on the effect of lemon juice on rats' teeth. The short version is: erosion. But that was UNDILUTED. I've decided to take my chances, floss & brush my teeth every day. BRUSHING CAN BE QUITE PAINFUL!

    Best of luck!

You are not alone with the sensitive teeth issues.

drink through a straw and then rinse your mouth out to make sure... if you are that concerned about it. Personally I havent experienced anything close to sore teeth on the cleanse.

    good luck

    hmmm....

During gradeschool... grades 1-5 my school division made all their students do some sort of fluoride swish of some sort... for 3 minutes a day... I remember it cuz it tasted gawd awful and all the teachers had stupid stopwatches just for timing the swishes...

I don't ever remember my parents consenting to this and there were no kids that opted out of the program...

I've got great teeth... but at what expense???

On my tenth day of MC1, the plaque came off my teeth. It simply softened and I brushed it away. No need to go to the dentist now to have my teeth cleaned. This really happened. In all the fasts or cleanses I've done in the last 36 years, this is the first time the plaque was dissolved. A truly excellent cleanse!

I did the cleanse for forty days and did experience the teeth hurting thing. And only at times in the cleans. But the pain was from the inside not the outside. Consider old amalgam fillings and the toxins left behind and the body sucking those toxins out.
