Default People on chemotherapy should NOT do the MC

Chemotherapy chemicals are extremely toxic. (After all, their purpose is to kill the cancer cells.)

No one on chemotherapy should attempt the Master Cleanse while on chemo. After chemotherapy, such people should seek the advise of their licensed health care practitioner before starting the Master Cleanse.

    Default recent cancer survivor

Hello, I finished an 18 week chemo cocktail (the three main chemo drugs for breast cancer).
While on chemo, i was not doing the cleanse. it was hard enough to maintain a healthy weight.
However, I was told it would take almost a year for chemo to leave my body and i would still have chemo side effects during that year (hot flashes, no period, slow hair growth-if any).
I decided to do the master cleanse after radiation was over (about 4 months after chemo). On the 4th day of the cleanse my period came back! Since then my hair has been growing quickly and I have had no hot flashes.
The master cleanse is great for getting the poison out of your body.
If anyone is interested in my story or the film I'm trying to raise money for, please visit www.loseweightwithcancer.com or www.myspace.com/loseweightwithcancer
    Thank you,

Hi ElysiaSkye........ i too am in remission, mine from ovarain cancer, twice. My markers were good enough that I was allowed to do the cleanse. This is my 3rd one since July, each ten days with 2 weeks apart. My doc has said i can do this one for 30 days if i wish, since my lab tests are coming back great and my red blood cells look good as well as my immune system seems to be coming back on tract! Amazing here eh?

so wishing you the best as well.

    be well

How about women with breast implants. I am on day 4 of the MC, been a raw foodist for 6 years, my tongue was thickly coated for the first few days but is almost entirely pink today. I was wondering if I should end the cleanse early, going by my tongue. I have had no detox symptoms (except a little fatique, which could be weather related because the last 2 days have been in the 80's and prior to that, it had been in the 40's). But then this afternoon my right breast began to really ache. My implants are 32 years old. Has anyone had trouble with this cleanse and implants?

hey gracer - keep going. your tongue can be pink one day then go back to white. happened to me last cleanse and the next day or day after, boom, i got hit by the detox truck. no matter what happens, stick it out the full ten days.

i read a blog of a woman who did the mc before i did mine. yes they're fake or something like that was the name. try google to hear her experience.

    Hi Peanutterb,

Thanks for the encouragement, and the suggestion. I did find and read her blog, (actually before I posted the question). She expresses concern on day 4 of her cleanse but then doesn't say anything more about it. I have some bumps (probably scar tissue in the breast, so it is possible that the scar tissue is being healed. My fear is that if the lemon juice/cayenne is strong enough to strip old fecal matter off intestinal walls, might it somehow get to the implants and be too harsh.

How did your doc know about MC? ....to determine markers/ MC compatibility? My daughter will be having four 24/5 courses biochemo and another surgery over four months. She and I are excited to learn about how MC can facillitate an efficient good recovery. How did you begin and manage that discussion with your oncologist ...PCP?

    Elysia Skye:

Nice website, what you are doing is a great thing. Keep it up!

My mother-in-law wanted to do a Cleanse after my first one (am now on my second) but I told her about Peter's recommendations for those on or that have been on chemo and she sought her doctor's advice. He was not against her wishes, but did inform her that the chemo, as someone else stated, can be present in her up to a year to 18 months after treatment. She is on the 12th month cancer free so I think she will try it. She is also diabetic so she understand she has to take it easy, I just hope it helps her as much it has me.

Thanks to everyone for the great information!

Question Re: People on chemotherapy should NOT do the MC

Dear Peter & MC Cancer Survivors, I have been in remission now from cancer for 10 yrs. I also know that a lot of the chemotherapy drugs are stored throughout my body's fat cells & that by doing the MC I may experience strong side-effects. However, I need to do this for me. Finding a doctor or DO to support in my cleansing will not prove easy in the South. Also, my DO I had when I lived in Dallas did not support me when I discussed the MC with him. I know that physically, spiritually, & mentally I want & need to complete a cleanse. Maybe I could start with a 7 day one? I will keep reading the previous threads to get some more insight into my goal. Thank you.
