Ann and Res, thank you so much for your advice. I sure would like to hear some input from you again. I took your advice and here's where I'm at today:
I broke my fast last week Monday (day 22) to prepare for surgery which was exactly one week later. During that week, I ate almost entirely raw and it was a wonderful experience for me! Only 2 times did I eat something I shouldn't have, and boy did I pay for it. I had terrible stomach aches for several hours. It was like my body was saying, get this out of me! I don't want this in here!!! Anyway, I needed less sleep, I had 2-3 great eliminations each day. I didn't have my typical chronic fatigue. It was a dynamic week! Then comes the surgery. They made me take some pills before the surgery, one of them an antibiotic. I've had to continue taking antibiotics and a couple pain pills. By yesterday, I was experiencing horrible constipation (which is not nice when you've had surgery on your bladder!) I actually had to give myself an enema to get some relief! And of course I'm very tired again from recovering from surgery. I only need to take the antibiotic for 3 more days, then I'm done. I guess I would just like to hear that this is all OK and normal.... that my body will go back to it's blissful experience of the week before my surgery. Or will I need to do another MC to get all the junk from the medication cleared out? I wasn't planning to do another MC until November... any input?

Hi Kimberly: Now's the time to take really good care of yourself. Don't be in a hurry to cleanse again. If you're not already doing this, start drinking Green Smoothies daily. After you finish taking anti-biotics, start taking Probiotics. Build up your strength and nourish yourself. Another cleanse would be too taxing on your body right now - (in my opinion).

I hope you feel better soon.

    Love,
    ~Res

Sounds great Res, thank you. I did a little searching here looking for green smoothies, and decided I'm probably already doing the right thing. It's called green lemonade. Have you heard of it? Here's the recipe:

    Green Lemonade

    Makes 1 serving

1 head romaine lettuce or celery
    5 – 6 stalks kale (any type)
1 to 2 apples (any kind, organic Fuji recommended)
1 whole organic lemon (you don’t have to peel)
    1 – 2 inches fresh ginger (optional)

Process the vegetables in a juicer. Pour into a large glass, and drink. (You may use any greens in place of the romaine and kale – like celery, chard, collards, spinach, cucumber and so forth)

Question Re: People recovering from surgery should NOT do MC

hello i have a question regarding injuries. i have a back strain that i am dealing with and am not working out and am seeing a physical therapist. my doctor says it's okay to stay on the cleanse so i am going to. but my chiropractor said i should be taking omega-3's to assist with inflammation. when should i take them? i am thinking right in the middle of the day- after the SWF and way before the lax tea. i obviously cannot take the meds they prescribed- which i probably wouldn't do anyhow as i am not into drugs- because they need to be taken with food. but omega-3's can be taken with or without food. any advice would be much appreciated

    Kimberlyh,

    Your drink sounds good.

One benefit (IMO) of smoothies over juice, though, is that you get the full benefit of all the fiber, and not so much of the sugars.

kimberlyh: I agree w/ everything Res said! Best of luck w/ your post-op recovery! BTW, constipation is very normal post-op; it's caused by the anesthesia! Green smoothies and a mostly raw diet w/ help w/ that!

    Hi All,
Im about 4 weeks post first cleanse. I had Orthoscopic appedix surgery yesterday. I was thinking of startin another cleanse on monday, any concerns I should have? I really appreciate if Peter would post something for me. I got sooo much out of the last cleanse and cant wait for the next. The detoxes are so worth it. I may seem weird but I cant believe I like seeing how much comes out when I have BM'S. I guess its that instant gratification of seeeing the work in progress.Any and all replies are always a blessing for me. Thanks all. God bless.....Matty

I had my gullbladder removed about 3 weeks ago and just started the master cleanse today and then I found this post about surgery.
Is it ok to stay on the cleanse after just 3 weeks of having this surgery?
