i figured i would post this in this one...
so i am going to have a dental appointment coming up-
i'm most likely going to be shot up in my mouth with novocaine or whatever they use now.
it usually makes me feel kinda weird to begin with.
i am almost on day 5 now and want to obviously continue for a while....
will this shot o' novocaine affect me? i mean, am i safe to continue the cleanse?
    thanks.

Well, I'm not a doctor but with common sense I would say the follwing: Novocaine is "only" a temporarly pain killer, not a medicine to heal the body, I don't think it would be a problem to get it, your body will cleanse its residue out during the fast. I would recommend though to drink a big glass of lemonade with a bit of an extra maple syrup before the dentist visit to be sure you'll be strong enough and won't get dizzy. If they do teeth extraction, surgery, or anything what hurt the gum then you should wait with the clease until it properly heals.
I personally hate the novocaine's after effect so much that I rather handle the little pain of drilling then being numb for the whole day!

    Good luck!

yeah, the novocaine just makes my heart beat fast and sort of dizzy (in a "i don't like this" sort of way)...
i will at least have time to go 14 days so we'll see. if i wanted to push for the 21 it would run into the end of that...thanks for the info.

As long as you can tolerate the cayenne, I would think it would be all right.

You probably won't be able to do the SWF. (Can you drink a quart of liquid at once?) If not, then you would need to do the laxative tea both evening and morning.

Good luck and be sure to let us know how you fare! I think this question has come up before, but I don't recall anyone responding from experience.

Not TOTALLY on topic, but newbies can't make new threads and this is the closest.

I have been dealing with allergies and trying medicines to help out for about a month. The other day, I started getting worse symptoms of sickness: sore throat, coughing, etc.

Is this a bad time to start the MC?

Additional thoughts: I stopped taking the medicines. I'm worried that my body will be busy repairing my other illness and not using as much energy to cleanse. My throat hurts like a bastard right now, but I don't want to even take Tylenol for fear that I'm not getting the most out of MC.

    Anyone have thoughts on this?

    Thanks.

what about gastric bypass surgery 2 1/2 years ago? will the cleanse have an effect considering the size of the new stomach???

Hi Peter. I had a radical prostatectomy on March 6th, 2008 and just finished up my first MC (15 days) yesterday. I did just fine. I lost 18 lbs and feel wonderful. My tongue is a rosy pink too.

I am on the end of day three of my first Master Cleanse.
I am scheduled to have gum surgery to repair gum depletion on the front of my two bottom teeth July 10. I am doing a twelve day cleanse and so I will be finished with the cleanse July 9 counting the three days of eating correctly to come off the cleanse.
I am thinking of moving the surgery; actually, I am hoping to see some improvement and avoid the surgery!!
Regardless, I would hate the thought of going directly under anesthesia after my cleanse.
    Do you have any suggestions?
Is there another reason I should move up the surgery to a later date...IF I decide to go ahead with it, that is.

Is there a recommended time to be off the cleanse before surgery? Also, does the cleanse mess up the pre-surgery blood work? I was told to come in next week, when it will be day 9 for me. They said don't worry, it is a non-fasting bloodwork. I kind of laughed.

    Thanks,

    John
