Well I finished the fast a week ago and things have been going well. I did want to do a mini 7 day fast before the end of the summer. When is the earliest I can do so?
MC #1 - 11 days
MC #2 - trying for 20 days.. maybe even 40!!
The Burroughs book recommends 3-4 MCs a year. I read somewhere on this board that one should wait at least 8 weeks before starting another MC.Originally Posted by natdidier
Can anyone please give me some advice/info concerning constipaiton after the cleanse? I finished a 29 day cleanse, my first, and began OJ six days ago. Stuck to just juice for 3 days and have now been including veg soup and fruit. I have not had a bowel movement yet and tried the smoothe move tea last night and still nothing. Is this ok? I have always had a lot of trouble with constipation and take a daily medication that also contributes to constipation.

I finished my first MC (10 days) 4 days ago. I had no stomach problems...started with Grapefruit juice in AM of first day, then soup, then veggies...by day 2 I had the same with more veggies and raw almonds. Since then, this weekend I pigged out. I am Vegan so it didn't involve any animal products, but definitely sugar, organic wine, pasta....still not great stuff for the body.
I've put on about 4 pounds in 4 days...I'd like to get it off. What is the best way to do this..I know you are not supposed to do a cleanse again for a while but is there a modified version for this type of situation? Also, I started getting pimples on my face today..my skin was clear up until yesterday...
Oh - and while on the MC, I was VERY lethargic, tired, weak..I usually work out 4-5 times a week and didn't work out once because I just didn't have the energy! I am wondering if I finished too soon....??
Any suggestions?

well i finished only 7 days without the stomach problems. eased my way back into a diet with oj and fruit smoothies..
and jyund, i think you are supposed to feel lethargic during the MC. it is the toxins leaving your body that is causing you to be weak.
Hi, I've been thinking really hard about doing this cleanse. I'm reading all the positive stuff about it and am this close...
However, I'm reading about coming off of the fast and it's really discouraging. I don't want to be sick. I'm a really active person and activity is part of my job, so I'm a bit leery to try this thinking that I could end up with times where I'll feel horrible and won't be able to work.
Also, I'm about 12 lbs overweight. I'd like to lose this and this is my main motivation for doing the cleanse. I've ordered both books and am really thinking of trying it. However, truth be told, I LIKE pizza, steak, etc. I don't want to completely quit eating those as, to me, that's not realistic. I'm a dad with kids and also singer, and so being active and not being out of commission is really important to me. I've never been a big raw or veggy person and so making a change for life isn't for me.
However, I don't just pig out on food. I never have. I eat reasonable portions and eat NORMALLY pretty healthy. Can a person do this cleans and eat normally afterwards or do you HAVE to go raw afterwards??

I've gone a full 24 hours after the cleanse (20 days). I feel fine! I didn't follow the "rules" to a "T" but have remained on a raw food diet. Yesterday I ate and ate and ate all day long. Here's what I had:
1 Banana
2 tiny slabs of watermelon
2 slabs of a cut up mango (there were about 10 from the whole mango)
1 tiny serving of a green salad fresh picked from my garden with some sprouts (about a handful or a little less) - homemade dressing (olive oil, bragg liquid amino, apple cider vinegar)
orange juice (fresh squeezed - about two oranges)
lemon juice drink (no cayenne - about four lemons)
lots of water - (about 1.5 gallon)
and some fresh juiced vegetable juice (carrots - 6 and beets - 1) to substitute my soup
It took me ALL DAY to eat the whole banana and the watermelon!! LOL! The funniest thing is I chewed and chewed and chewed everything for so long before I would swallow it. My kids laughed at me all day. It was interesting but I've been here before.
I checked my PH today (which I didn't do all throughout the cleanse) and my body is nice and alkalized. YAY!! I'm a little gassy and haven't had a BM since. Taking my probiotics everyday. My weight has stabilized but we'll see what happens over the next few days as I do still plan to work out and do some detox baths.
So when will you get back to regular food?
