Thread: Breaking the fast

Well this is Day 3 post cleanse and I don't feel too bad. The first couple of days were rough and eating is still a bit of a pain. I made some vegetable soup yesterday and ate probably 4 cups of it throughout the day. It tasted sooooo good, but my stomach hurt like hell afterwards.

It is funny getting full after 4-5 spoon fulls. I take breaks in between eating so I don't feel too sick. My breakfast consisted of a 16 oz glass of fresh squeezed OJ and grapefruit juice and then lunch was a bowl of soup. Dinner will be another bowl of soup and maybe dessert will be some yummy cherries and a plum.

My first BM came today and I was so glad to have a normal one, not like the SWF ones. Well good luck to all those who have completed the MC.
    MC #1 - 11 days
MC #2 - trying for 20 days.. maybe even 40!!

I'm sure I'm getting a bit ahead of myself, being only on day 5, but i was wondering if anyone had a recipe for the veggie broth after the cleanse. I've read almost this entire forum and I'm sure I've come across the recipe before but couldn't find it again doing a search. I know the recipe includes different veggies of one's choice but do you add any type of flavors to it or just eat it bland? I thought I'd post here today incase it takes a few days to get a response. Never can be TOO prepared, right?

    many thanks,

I have completed the MC once now. I did 12 days but the 12th day was just water b/c I was out of lemons. I only have enough oranges for 1 day and then I made soup. It gave me a tummy ache each time I ate it. I knew I probly needed to go back to juice or the lemonade but couldn't. So basically now I have done 3 days of whatever and I am disgusted with myself and wish I had gone longer. So I started over today. My ? is do I need to do it for another full 10 days or just until I get a pink tongue? I guess that could be longer than 10. It never did get pink but it never did get really thick white either. I have been reading this thread, I think I am up to Sept 06 Just wondered if anyone had any wisdom for me. Thanks.

Question Re: Breaking the fast -- very important

I am not much of a cook, in fact, I HATE to cook. If I steamed broccoli, cauliflour, a sweet potato, onion, and celery and then blended them with the steamer broth, could I use that as soup? The thought of making soup makes me want to scream because I never spice things right and breaking the fast is such an important part of this. By the way I am on Day 5 and I feel pretty good. I am half way. Thank goodness Day 7 is Sunday, supposedly you get pretty low on the 7th day due to a heavy detox. Any suggestions would really help. Thanks.

Today is day 10 for me, trying to figure out what to do afterwards... I'm thinking of continuing the MC because I just don't know what to do after. Does anyone have any tips for how to continue losing weight post-MC? I still have 15-20 lbs to go and it's tempting just to keep fasting. But I know I have to eat sometime! Also I'm going to India and have to get some vaccinations and I don't knoe I just don't want to get shots while I'm fasting. anyone have any post MC success stories to share?
    thanks!

    Chloecov,

Please check out the sticky thread in the Raw Food Lifestyle forum for Kira's Tips. It's an excellent plan for after the cleanse.

thanks mtmouse, I did look at that.
This is my plan: Lemonade in morning. Watered down grapefruit juice with very small amount of psylium husks, getting my belly used to a little fiber. Probiotics. More grapefruit juice. Senna tea in the evening. repeat next day and then finish third day with veggie broth. Then two days raw foods and veggie broth. I don't want to stop fasting wholly and I do want to transition very slowly, so I think this strikes a balance. Has anyone else taken psylium post-cleanse? Any advice?

I take psyllium regularly, usually 1 Tbsp every morning. I start adding it back after the cleanse when I begin to eat whole fruit with pulp.

Hi there! Can one also take some agar in the first days of breaking the fast? My body is more used to this. Thanks!
