ARTHRODONT. It's a French toothpaste for gums. I get it in Europe. Not sure if it's available in the US.

Also, I found a 10-pill package of probiotics for $3.99 at Whole Foods (PEARLS by Enzymatic).

congrats on completing your cleanse. we always recommend that people break their fasts when their tongues start to clear, so seeing yellow and other colours means you were still in heavy detox.

when you get back to eating, it requires alot of energy to digest food. that's why you're feeling tired.

bms after the cleanse can take a few days, be patient and eat high fibre foods.

about your teeth - the lemon juice can be tough on your enamel, as it says in the general help for newbies thread - we suggest drinking your lemonade out of a straw and changing your toothpaste. Sensodyne works for me but I've read of some other, more natural ones that work well.

be sure to read the general help for newbies thread.

Question Re: Breaking the fast -- very important

So, I've just read 46 pages of this thread and it's getting on time for bed. I break my fast tomorrow. I intended on 10 days, but on the tenth day, I got my period (sorry fellas) and broke out in an itchy bumpy rash all over my back (not prone to acne). I figured that meant to continue on and I did. I also took a detox bath, some detox tea and for the last two days went for steam and saunas - maybe overkill, but I'm ready to eat and everyone keeps talking about how skinny I am with that annoying "why would you diet" look on their faces. So my period is over and ( Fellas you may want to skip foward ) it was the heavest, reddest and longest period I've had in about ten years! That's gotta be good right?

Okay, end of day 14 - yahoo! Bought tangerines, blood oranges and grapefruit. Made my soup, read these posts until my vision started to blur. I'm ready. I'm going to take it slow.

    Two questions:

-Can you mix the different citrus juices together in one drink?

-How long before I have Sushi (approx. I know it's different for everyone). Is it worse than beef or dairy?

Thanks everyone for all the support over the last two weeks! I'll continue checking in during the post MC phase and will hopefully be back for MC2 mid to late summer.

Thanks Peanutterb. I'm feeling pretty good first day post cleanse. I've had 20 oz lemonade, 24 oz mixed juices (grapefruit, tangerine and blood orange - yum), lots of water, two grapefruit (nice to chew something) a strawberry and two little bites of watermelon (I know, but I couldn't resist). I will have 1 lemonade in the am, more mixed juice until the soup in the late afternoon. Can't wait.

I too am still experiencing itchy, bumpy rash on my back only, which seems to get worse after an hour in the pool (bromide). I know it will eventually clear, so for me this whole MC is totally worth it!
    Pros:
Lost 8 lbs (which is a bit much, but strength training ought to bring some back)
Have more energy and generally in a better mood
And so far (knock on wood) no seasonal allergy symptoms.
    Con:
My back is an itchy mess (temporarily I'm sure)
Some people think I'm crazy (screw 'em)

Hope everyone else is doing well!

Day 6 post MC (10 days)
Just thought to post an update. I feel like MC happened a long time ago. I wonder why. I still haven't eaten any dairy or meat. I have no cravings for sugar, which I am thrilled about! I do start my morning with 1/2 cup of soaked oat bran (in water) with some agave nectar and raw cocoa (sugar free), because I'm used to having oat bran for breakfast.
I gained 4.5 pounds in six days (some of it may be muscle, I ran 12 miles yesterday), which is not so bad considering I lost 15 pounds on MC.
I had two very emotional days post MC, but I read that that's not uncommon (still it was a bit too much, especially after feeling so good on MC).
I made another pot of vegetable soup, which is my lunch, and I have a salad for dinner every day. For desert I have frozen raspberries. And, yes, I take probiotics every morning.
When I feel ready I will start eating grains (wild rice) and unsweetened soy protein powder (as a runner, I need that extra protein).
    My gums are fine again.

Anyone else post MC for a week?

So today is day 10 for me, and although yesterday I was considering continuing a few more days on the cleanse, today I am firmly committed to breaking the fast. I haven't had much happen as far as detox symptoms actually, I'm a little disappointed. And today I am feeling really hungry.

So I am stocking up on oranges today, and I already have about 8 grapefruit. I enjoy grapefruit juice a lot and would like to mix the two together. But I've been hearing that grapefruit can be harsh on the system. Is it really an OK choice?

Greencat, Day 1 post cleanse I ended up mixing grapefruit, tangerine and blood orange together. It was not too sweet and not too sour - perfect. This morning, Day 3, I used my food processor to mix orange, grapefruit, watermelon and strawberry. SOOOOO Good.

I did cheat today though, one of the kids had a birthday and brought in mini blueberry scones. I only had one but could I have cheated with anything worse for me? sugar, shortening. So far no ill effects. I'm going to try to better about resisting these temtations. They are everywhere for sure.
