Can you guess who is in severe pain today? ME! Today he has had bacon, scambled eggs with sausage, hot links, and he's feeling fine. I'm constipated and having sharp pains in my gut. So my question is, if meat is soooo much harder to digest, what is the deal? I was all set to eat "more naturally" but not if Im going to be costipated for the rest of my life! I know it was a little too soon, but he ate way before me! Like to know what you think.

LisaN : Have you taken any probiotics since you broke your fast? You have to build up the digestive tract since you stripped it all out with the fast.

Your raw soup sounds delicious and thanks for the directions on finding the raw soup thread. You ARE an inspiration! In five days I will be completing my 40 day cleanse and I'm excited and a little anxious. You just made some of that anxiety disappear. Thank you, thank you!

I realize that we have to take it slow. I started out with the oj yesterday. I was really hungry and my job catered a really nice breakfast. I didn't touch any of it. I just stuck with my juice. Later that day, I really needed something else. I tried eating a little baby apple sauce which upset my stomach. When I got home I had a little baby bananas instead. It went down fine, but I knew I needed to slow down. So I had oj again this morning (no more I can't stand it) and soup broth with a few veggies for lunch and the soup for dinner. So far so good.
You can't have success without some type of struggle. Just hang in there!!!

Hello. I am on day 3 of breaking and it is all going so well, except I have totally blown my food budget for the month - $70 for the MC; just spent $200 at Wild Oats for mostly vegatables, fruit, lentils, nuts, vitamins, probiotics, etc.... Ouch! But it is worth it in the long run for my health (at least that is what I keep saying to myself). Everything is going very well with day 1 juice and a little fruit - banana was really easy and then a whole orange at night. Day 2 grapefruit juice, banana, orange, pear and lunch veg. soup ate a little of the carrots, onions, celery - tested everything first and at night a nice mixed green salad and tomatoes with Olive Oile and Dill Seasoning, yummy. I was going to have some of my husband's rotisserie chicken, but my stomach was so full after the salad. Day 3 a little cranberry juice with flax seed and stevia plus, 2 boiled eggs - ymmmy, tonite, same salad and Kitcheree (an Indian dish for bringing up the Kundalini - made with basmati rice, mung beans, garlic, tumeric, onion, ginger, cumin etc.....) Again, after the salad I coul dhardly eat any of the kitcheree - too full - bummer. have been taking the probiotics.

I am following the Okinawa Diet Plan, mostly vegatables and fruit, grains, beans, nuts, very lean meat occasionally, no dairy, very rarely red meat. The Okinawa's live past 100, many of them and are lean and very healthy. I like it as a substitute for the raw plan - I just can't do without meat and cooked/warm food, so I think this is the next best thing. I lost a total of 13 lbs and hope to continute to lose 1lb. a week for the next 3 months to get to my ideal weight of 175lbs (at 195 right now). Working out still almost every day and it is all really good. I really think I can eat very healthy now - thanks to the mental, emotional, physical MC. Good Luck Everyone.

Day 12 on MC, and need some help to figure out what to do...

Originally I was planning to breakfast today, but this morning I found my tongue was coated slightly. It had been pink all through the cleanse, but since this morning, it is slightly white. I do not have a bad taste in my mouth though.

So normally, I would continue the cleanse a few more days to see how it goes. But is it OK to continue when my weight is getting quite low?

I am 5'5", and this morning I weighed 111 lbs, 19% body fat as result of 7 lbs weight loss.

I am feeling OK, but a bit weaker today. I never felt weak up until today, but today is not so bad--very manageable.

Should I continue till the tongue clears up again, or should I breakfast?

Grace: I'd love to try and help you out but I just don't know what to tell you. Gotta say I wish I had that problem. I'm 6' but weigh 270. When you get too thin doesn't it start messing w/ your menstrual cycle? Hopefully Res or mtmouse or sophie can help you. All the best.

and by breakfast you mean orange juice all day right??

but anyway, it's really your decision. your weight will level back out when you go back to eating so that's not too big of a problem.

how white is your tongue? and feeling weak can be a sign of detox - or of not having enough lemonade. If it were me, I'd go another day and see how things look.

Did you do tea or an swf today? you can have a lemonade now and decide later in the day if you want to go to orange juice or just go thru today with lemonade or orange juice once you decide.

no one can make that decision for you. so think about it and go from there.
let us know what you decide.

    Thank you, scf and Peanutterb!

I took my SWF this morning and decided to give it another day--Day 13 today.

You are absolutely right that only I can listen to my body and make decision about this. Still I really appreciate your assurance and support.

The color of my tongue still is slightly white but sort of pinkish, too???, same or maybe tiny bit clearer than yesterday. I cannot tell wheather this is the beginning of "tongue coating" or not.

Meanwhile, I have been researching and planning the transition meal plans after breaking the fast. Instead of pinned to foodtv (with their whole-stick-of-butter recipes), I am trying to re-write my thoughts for food with healthy, truthful-to-ingredient cooking. It is fun!

I will join this thread in a day or two to share my post fasting endeavor.

    Have a great day!

I HIGHLY recommend taking some form of probiotics. I finished one cleanse and did not use them and had a very hard time adjusting back to "regular". A more recent time I finished cleansing, I did use probiotics, and I had minimal constipation, whereas the previous time I was miserable for 5 days!

At your local health food store there should be a variety of them... Any acidophilus related suppliement is a good start. Look for a brand that has a high "live active cultures" count, something in the billions is best. It will say something like "5 billion live active cultures per serving." There is a "yogurt" version that has a very high count, very good for breaking the cleanse, but much higher than would be needed on a daily basis. I used the yougurt version after a cleanse for a week, then switched to a capsule, and I now use them daily, not just after a cleanse.

Hope my ramblings helped at all.
    Good luck!
