This was my third MC, but only the first one where I did the post cleanse by the book. I finished my third post-cleanse day with a romaine salad, yogurt dressing, steamed broccoli and rooibos tea. In addition, I am taking a multi-strain probiotic pill with each meal. I never had problems coming off the first two, but it seemed if I did the first portion properly, I should also try the recommended post cleanse method as well.
I know that about 5-6 lbs I lose during the MC comes back pretty fast. Simply filling the intestines with solid foods again must be the reason. Strangely, I have still been dropping weight during these three days. Perhaps, that is one difference.

I sincerely doubt that I will ever become a raw foods person. I am originally from Wisconsin. The love of good cheese is in my DNA. The best that I can expect is a little moderation. I want to see how long I can stay off of a the daily meat regime. I welcome any suggestions.

It is nice to be caffeine free again. I can get spun enough on grapefruit or orange juice.

HEY!! Good Luck on keeping the weight down and trying to keep healthier...I am with ya on the cheese thing....I don't think I could go strictly raw...maybe if I lived all by myself...but even then.....Some things are just way too yummy for me...I hope to cut a lot of meats, dairy and proccessed foods out of my weekly meal plans...but all together is still a stretch for me....If I can stay away from mochalattes' I will be thrilled...I know they are what packed the pounds on this past year!!!!
I wish I already new exactly how to juice and all...Just haven't made anything to yummy in my past attempts..but will try again!

    Hi,

I cheated on my 9th day and then decided to just properly break the fast the next day, but I really don't want to go back to eating again, I want to keep going!

What happened: on the 9th day I went to someone's place and instead of saying, I don't feel like eating, I went ahead and ate a little, it was couscous and some kind of sauce, and a piece of garlic bread, I didn't eat very much, but immediately felt sick but not too sick. And they they offered gelato for dessert.. the strange thing was, I ate it, but I didn't really feel like eating it, I'm not sure why I did it. ~sigh~

In any case, I decided to break the fast normally this morning, I started this day drinking my orange juice, but I don't want to! I want to go back on the cleanse and just keep going!

Can I do that? Can I just restart? I'm not going to be able to go home till the evening so I won't be able to make any lemonade really till the next day...

This has been a great experience. I've lost 8 lbs, I slept better at night, I have energy during the day, don't feel like I'm dragging myself, I just want to keep going...

Thinking about breaking the fast. Today is my Day 26, and I'm no longer Coasting. Ha. I was shooting for 30 days. Previous was 15 days. I am thinking A LOT about food. Can anyone recommend a brand of probiotics?

I am a longtime lurker in serious distress. This is my third cleanse. I have done two 10 day MC successfully about once a year prior. This time I had been feeling highly stressed which took a toll on my health (heart palpitations, nausea, dizzyness, migraines, etc) so I decided to do a cleanse. Well I dont know if the fact I was already sick when starting this is what failed me or what but up to day 3 I was fine, but days 4 thru 8 was absolute hell. I havent been drinking more then about 20-20 oz of the lemonade cause of serious lack of appetite. And water dinking is basically nonexistant. Which has caused me to get in serious dehydration mode. My lips are severely chapped and my throat feels like it has a tear in it so when I DO drink the lemonade it burns my esophagus like crazy.

So the past few days I have been even more dizzy, headaches, nausea, et al... And last night I totally blacked out at 3 in the morning and hit my head against the tub on my way down. I feel like I got hit by a linebacker at this point.

At this point I can go to the ER and have them give me an IV for a few hours to hydrate me but I dont know if that would have a negative effect introducing chemicals in my system after a MC.

So today, on my 8th day I have decided to stop the cleanse and am drinking fresh orange juice today and will try to down some vegetable broth tonight. I have never had an unsuccessful cleanse before. Has anyone else gotten dehydrated doing this?
    Praise is what I do...

It looks to me like you didn't get dehydrated doing the cleanse. You got dehydrated by NOT doing the cleanse as written. The minimum 6 glasses are there for a reason, as is the recommendation to drink at least one glass of water for every glass of lemonade. And if you are having symptoms like those you experienced, then you need to drink even more. Sounds like you managed to churn everything up but then didn't set the stage for the toxins to be flushed out.

Next time you do the cleanse, come in with the mindset that you will absolutely take in the minimum amount of liquid whether you feel like it or not.

As for going to the ER, you need to do what's right for you. Dehydration is an extremely serious condition. And if there is indeed something else going on, you'd probably want to know.

    Good luck!

Hey guys so I eased in 2 days, did the Master Cleanse for only 5(this is my first time and it was really hard for me!), and break it today. I haven't had any lemonade today, just carrot/apple juice and orange juice. I nibbled on a banana earlier and a really mushy mango, and ate just a small slice of apple. Is it too late now to switch back to lemonade and keep going? I really planned on quitting today, but at the same time I feel so close to the finish line...

Also - is it still beneficial at ALL to have done it for just 5 days?? I know I'm not getting all the benefits but I want to know I did at least SOME good.

    Thanks guys!
