this is day 8 of my first cleanse...i feel great except for some gas!!! i did not do the salt water flush as i have to work every day at 8 a.m., but did the tea...my question is this: i am going to do the fast until day 14 and start the break on day 15. i have a meeting for work on day 4 after the cleanse, and they go to a restaurant for lunch, any suggestion of how to handle this? thanks...

thank you peter, i think that is helpful in going to a corporate luncheon on the 4th day after my cleanse...i was diagnosed with breast cancer 4 years ago this month and went thru mastectomy, and chemotherapy and then masses of hormones...i am clear of any cancer to this date and going strong...but have felt really bad and gained lots of weight due to the hormones and eating more of course...i feel better than ever, have so much energy, lost 11 pounds in 8 days and i'm on my way to a healthier, longer living me...thank you for the support you have given...p.s. i'm going for 14 days...YES!!!

I am on my first MC, day 9. Not sure if I will do 12 or 15 days or longer. I would like to break the fast on a weekend, when I don't have to worry about any issues. Seems a few people have tummy trouble, even when breaking the fast correctly. I am wondering about probiotics. Should I start taking them Day 1 of breaking the fast, or wait until the fast is broken on day 3 and I am taking in solids? I am also wondering if I could do the SWF the morning of Day 1 of the fast break. I guess it wouldn't hurt? I don't do the SWF every day, some days I do the tea, as I have difficulty making the time for the flush in the morning. I kind of wanted to break the fast on a clean slate, if you will

    Thanks for your help!

Default No BMs on day 4 post-cleanse

I'm on day 4 post- cleanse. I took day 1 very slowly with juices only, day two added some clear soups, and day three I had salad. I have not had a BM since my last SWF on thursday. Should I do something to encourage BMs? My fear is that I am getting bound up again, like I was pre-cleanse. I don't feel constipated- I actually feel great- but shouldn't I be having natural BMs again?

Should I try some tea, but if so, can I get dependent on that? Maybe I need probiotics?

thanks so much Peter for all your great advice!!!

    Hi Nom,

Although it doesn't seem like it, your body will adjust and you'll start the bm's again naturally. It's very common for this to occur as the colon slows down during cleansing. Just keep doing what you're doing and you will be fine.

    p.s. Definitely on the pro-biotics.

Well, Day one is going fine with just OJ. I did have some lemonade w/out cayanne to help with hunger. I can see how someone could just start eating. It's hard not. I am thankful for all of the examples of why not to jump right into eating.
It was so nice sleeping through the night and not having to get up (with cramps) to go to the bathroom 4 and 5 times a night. It was also nice not having to do the SWF.
I am so grateful for this sight. It has been a lifesaver!

That's one of my favorite reasons for ending the cleanse; not getting up all night long to hit the bathroom. I'm amazed at all of us who have jobs and don't get a sound sleep for weeks and weeks.

    You did a great job.

    Question Re: Breaking the fast

    Peter,

Today is Day 11 and I would like to ease into a Juice Fast, being that I can't bear the lemonade drink any longer. Do you have any suggestions as to how I should do this? Can I start juicing with fruits and vegetables today, or do I have to drink orange juice today and tomorrow before I can juice with other fruits and vegetables?

I feel great! Thanks for your help!

Morning. Congrats on completing your cleanse!

You really should break the cleanse following the instructions in the book. The intent is to have you 'ease' back into digesting.
