Thread: Breaking the fast

    Default Heartburn/Acid Reflux

Have any of you suffered from Heartburn/Acid reflux?
Did the Cleanse help cure or relieve the symptoms?
I just finished a 10 day cleanse and still feel some irritation when i eat, but to be honest it's not as bad as before. I was wondering if there were others out there that had better results, and if they did how long did they do the cleanse for?

    Thanks a million

I'm on day 9 of the MC.. and I've been reading this particular thread.. backwards and forwards. I'm just not finding any answers to my inquiries. I've tried to use the search button, that doesn't really work. It brings up other threads and topics.

So far I understand that when you're coming off of the MC.. the break down is this:

Day 1 off of the cleanse-
2 to 3.. 8oz glasses of diluted oj or grapefruit for the entire day. Drinking just as much water is .. needed.

Day 2 off of the cleanse
2 to 3.. 8oz glasses of diluted oj or grapefruit for the entire day. For dinner have veggie broth soup.

Now, my question at this point is.. what is the recipe for making this suggested soup? I don't cook at all.. and I didn't see a veggie broth soup recipe in this thread. (Unless I missed it, then my apologies. Please point me in the right direction.)

And what's the regime on Day 3 off of the cleanse? Is it the same as day 2?

    Help please! Thanks.

Actually, you can have as much OJ or grapefruit juice as you want. I usually go through at least a dozen oranges. You don't have to dilute the juice, but depending on the length of your cleanse or your individual reaction the straight juice can be really intense. So just dilute to taste.

An option is to get an can/box of store-bought veggie broth. With making it yourself though, you'll have enough for a good follow-up meal of soup *with* nice soft cooked veggies!

Breaking the fast was rough for me because I decided to drink grapefruit juice, not aware of how strong it was. Messed up my teeth (my bite is a bit messed up so I have two teeth that are rather sensitive) so I switched to orange juice. But since then I've been great. And I made it 10 days. I started a raw diet a few days ago and I'm looking forward to the future.

I had been talking about it with a close friend of mine who waitresses at a restaurant, and last week I let her borrow the books I had so she could read about it. Went there today and she was on day 2 already, and so is her mother. She said her mother couldn't sleep well the first couple nights, but last night she slept well. Hope it works for her.

It's my second day coming off the fast and I have not had a bowel movement at all since day 10 of the cleanse.

The first day, yesterday, I drank diluted orange juice all day long,s ome fresh squeezed and the other the "just pick'd" brand that comes frozen from my health food store (I don't think it is pastuerized). My stomach tolerated the oj just fine but I was pretty hungry at various times throughout the day and I was also very, very cold - I was working outside all day (but I was pretty sedentary) however others that I was with were not as cold as I was and I had on many layers, a hat, scarf, gloves and even resorted to using hand and foot warmers. I could not warm up at all!!!

Today I plan again on having diluted oj most of the day, along with a probiotic, and then having the vegetable broth later this evening as I will be out all day. I am not cold like yesterday, so far.

My concern is that I have not had an elimination yet since Thursday. Should I continue drinking the laxative tea to help move things along?

I'm on my 5th cleanse now and I will definitley being doing the tea and SWF before I drink any OJ.

I ran out of the tea on the last day of my cleanse (10 days) so had my last cup the night of the 9th day and now wish I had bought more but my work schedule was too crazy and I couldn't get to the store in time. I'm on day 2 of the post cleanse and haven't had a bm at all since the evening of the 9th day of the cleanse. I am about to have my first bowl of vegetable broth tonight, so hopefully things get back to normal in the elimination department

I awoke feeling great, like I did when I was a child and from then on I have had nothing but incredible results. My skin cleared up, I can think very clearly, my general disposition has greatly improved, and I had a renewed sense of energy.

I'm on Day 10! Woohoo! Question: I have drank my minimum of 6 glasses of lemonade...is there any reason I can't start on the OJ for the rest of today instead of waiting until tomorrow to do so? I'd like to get back to solid foods a bit quicker since I have some events coming up and the more time I have to slowly move into solid foods, the better. If I could start the OJ today, I could possibly get some soup down tomorrow night (Day 11). Thoughts?

I got to day 8 this MC and could go no longer..............this has been a hard slog of headaches and back pain throughout this cleanse (my 22 day and 40 day MC was a 'walk in the park' compared to this one.........I think I wasnt ready mentally to do it.

Every MC is certainly different so I am not going to beat myself up for failing to get to 10 days but pat myself on the back for accomplishing what I did, and so should you.
