Thread: Breaking the fast

I know it was posted very early on in the creation of this thread, I scoured ten or so pages to see if there was a follow up, I haven't seen one so hope you won't mind me asking...

A poster called trout asked if it was viable to come off the fast using tomato juice as opposed to orange or pineapple juice. Peter said in theory it should be OK as tomato is a fruit. Can trout or anyone enlighten me as to how it went? I LOVE tomato juice and am drooling at the prospect of breaking the fast this way, so I'd love to know if anyone can pass on their experiences?

I have no idea of tomato juice would be ok to use, but I love the idea of it! I am at the close of Day 7 and dreaming of salty tastes...really tired of sweet drinks (that burn with spice!) I actually look forward to my SWF in the am, just for the change of pace - lol.

I am already looking forward to the salad I'm going to make...but perhaps I am getting ahead of my self...on to day 8. Curious to see if there are any replies about tomato juice...

Hi I was wondering if anyone (here or that you know of) went on a low-carb diet (Atkins/South Beach style) after the cleanse. I don't mean straight into it, obviously easing your stomach into such foods, etc? I like that style of eating becuase it really helps me control my blood sugar, cravings, etc. but I don't want to gain back the weight I lost on the cleanse.

Quick question- I end the cleanse the day after tomorrow... Nothing is said in either book about a SWF on the first day of ending (I assume we still want to rid our bodies of the last toxins loosened- I statred with 6 glasses a day but worked my way up to 12!) Am I correct or is it straight to oj/gj Thanks! aliceinwonderland?

tea and swf on the day you break your fast

    hi aliceinwonderland,
i had emailed this to another cleanser (a friend of mine who acually inspired me to do this) on the same topic.

"When you are ready to break your fast, it is your choice whether you want to do the tea the night before and the swf the following day when you begin the juice.
If you are starting probiotics, you can start on the first or second day of juice.
The night before you break your fast you do not have to drink the tea or do the swf the morning you begin drinking orange juice. You can if you want to, but you do not have to. Discontinue the tea/swf until your next cleanse. Be patient and wait for your own natural BM to come, which may take a few days."

as seen on this page (towards the bottom)
    www.therawfoodsite.com/forum/showpost.php?p=25585&postcount=27

good luck with it...i'm on my first cleanse and a little apprehensive on breaking!
i think i will be doing the tea and flush up til the very end. i want all opportunity to get the toxins out! while i'm in this cleaner state of being.
    what a crazy ride.

Alice - I agree with SunnyRae, I do the tea and swf all the way to the end to get out as much as possible. So, my last two MC I did swf the morning I started juice. I plan to do it this time too.

I am starting the MC tomorrow (I'm very excited and done a lot of background info on it!). I'm just wondering how many days it takes before you can "eat normally" after? I plan to use the MC as a kickstart to healthier eating so I don't plan on "binging" on donuts and steak after the MC, but, I do have social engagements following the MC -- how long many days does it take for your body to eat normally (chicken and dairy?) also, how many days before you should consume alcohol? THANKS!

Question Re: Breaking the fast -- very important

Ok, I just did my first fast in march of this year for 24 days....it was amazing , and i did eat a small cracker and and a teaspoon of smooth peanut butter every day which did not seem to impede my progress...my skin is clearer, i feel lighter, and i'm ready to do the cleanse again, but......

MY DIGESTION!!! it took me three days to get back on to solid foods and i went slow with solid foods (i'm a vegetarian)...i started taking a low level probiotic when after the second day i did not have a bowel movement. before i started the cleanse, i had a healthy bowel movement every day...now i'm lucky if i have one every two days...i have incorporated SOME dairy (a couple ounces of cheese, a tablespoon of butter) back into my diet since then, and I love love love my eggs so i have one probably once a day....

when i started eating solids again, i also tapered off using the saline wash and the laxative tea by doing the SWF one day, taking the tea the next...

help me, please, my digestion needs help....i need some suggestions for coming off the cleanse, and if i don't have a good trip to lemontown this time, i don't want to do the MC again! oh please help...

I am having issues with coming off the cleanse as well. I did thirty days and then three solid days of orahnge juice. I think the oj was too acidic (even after the lemonade?) bec I have blisters on the underside of my top lip. My eliminations have been tremendous, even more so than when I was doing the MC and now I'm not eating solid foods, or doing the SWF or the tea at night. Finally I've tried to eat some solid foods, after five days of liquids, and everything tastes nasty. I cannot drink water as it leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I cannot eat any solid food as it immediately becomes diarrhea. Maybe my body was toxic enuff to have stayed on the MC longer but now that I've been off of it for 8 days, I don't think I can go back on for a while. All I know is that my bum hurts from the pain of diarrhea, I'm losing weight from not being able to keep food inside and getting weak from no food. I am taking probiotics 50million count from whole foods. But something needs to change. Food tastes bad, water tastes bad, cant do OJ anymore cuz of the lip blisters, food goes right thru me whether it's raw or lightly cooked. I'm sleeping 15 hours a day cuz I have no energy and I'm sure I'm dehydrated. Help please?

I am on my day 7 and looking forward to a veggie broth after my cleanse. Can someone tell me how to make a veggie broth? Am i supposed to boil the veggies and just drink the liquid or eat the veggies?
    Thanks
