Yes, I'd skip any fat for your first post-cleanse soup. It isn't necessary, and it could be difficult to digest.

Congrats on making it to here!

    Hawjeff:

The raw soups are on the thread about raw food interests back at the front of the board. Just scroll down and you'll see it. Res is the one who lists them in several different messages.

However, I just came off of a 40 day cleanse today! I started juicing my grapefruit and oranges yesterday all day along with lemonade and today all orange juice and no lemonade. (I'm out of ms anyway.) I wanted veggies so badly that at 9:00 tonight I ran to Wal-Mart and bought some avacados and some other veggies came home and made the most amazing soup!!! My junkfood lover, meat eating children (whom I created to eat that way) even loved it and were actually fighting over the last bowl of it. I am willing to share this recipe.

The freshest most ripest tomato you can find or two or three. (okay, I cheated and used my homegrown organic tomatoes that I canned myself. I figured it was better than the store's tomatoes.) I dont process them very long, just enough to get it to seal. Anyway tomatoes will work. Just make sure they are ripe! Then chop up an avacado in it and green onion top and all. Salt and pepper! That is IT.

Takes about 2 min to make....please try it. I took my husband a bowl of it to TASTE and he ate the entire bowl, uuugh, had to make my daughter another one. My 2 year old loved it too.

Hope this helps. If you eat 100% raw you will have better luck with breaking the fast. You can eat sooner and no cravings for junk. I was ready to throw in a baked potato or munch down some cold leftover pizza. I am totally satisfied now, no craving for that stuff. And that was just 2 hrs ago. I'm so excited.

CONGRATULATIONS PATRIOTGIRL!!!!!! That is just awesome. I'm on day nine of my first ever fast and while I feel great, I'm not sure I can imagine another month without food. And I'm not immune to junk food cravings, myself! You are an absolute inspiration to all of us.

    Nice work!

    Hello lemonheads!

Wrapping up day 9 here and just spent the last hour reading all of these posts. I'm confident (now) that my plan for breaking the fast is sound. Since I will be out of town here are my plans for Sat/Sun.

Sat~ lemonade in the am followed by juice thru the day.
Sun~ lemonade in the am followed by juice and some broth (if I make it home on time!)

I'm keeping up the lemonade b/c they're lighter than a whole bunch of oranges!!

    Wish me luck... and willpower!

PATRIOT: Can you share with us how your 40 day fast went? What type of detox symptoms did you get? How much did you lose?

well my friends I have made it to day 11 on my first mc and plan to break it day 12 and get back to some social life. It has been a fun journey and Im quite excited to eat healthy. all this time with no food has made me more aware of the crap we all eat and Im much more excited to eat nice fruits and veg.

ONe question though. I just wondered if anyone could share a probiotic story with me of when to introduce them into the post cleanse juice and soup stage.

    thanks for your time.

cant wait to do this again.

Day 11- first Break-Fast Day. Woke up Hooongry!
Drinking my first oj and took my first Probiotic. Tasty.

Didn't really have too many dramatic detox symptoms. I probably should have gone longer. The worst symptoms were the crankiness, the forgetfulness and the cramps from the laxative tea (every day!) I really can not believe I did 10 days. But after 2 days it was so routine and too late to back out easily.

Most Dramatic Moment: Day 6 after a SWF
WARNING: SERIOUS GROSSNESS AHEAD: I expelled something that looked like a transparent wide noodle. Made the whole cleanse worth it. Better out than in as someone on this board once said.

BUT it is over for now. I will be more conscious of what I consume. Good Clean Food. I feel pretty good and am very nervous about starting to eat again. I will get over it.

Oh and a fun bonus, I lost 12 lbs but figure I will gain about 1/2 back over time. At 5'3 - I was 140 and now, 128. My Doctor says I should weigh 125 so in order to accomplish that I have some work to do.

Today: oj tomorrow: oj and soup broth sunday: oj and soup monday back to real food. I will keep with the probiotics until I can eat Yogurt again.

    Coco,

Have you checked your BMI chart to see if you are in normal range? I'm shorter than you and 128 would be within my BMI. Give it a look on the web.
