Made my soup for tomorrow!! Tasted the broth, yum, yum, yum!! I really want to go raw after this, so by day 3 off, I think I can go to grapefruit and orange juices, raw veg juices and salads.

I made the soup much simplier (and way less of it) this time than I have in past cleanses.

tiny bit of olive oil to saute: 1 onion, 2 cloves garlic, 2 stalks celery. added 1 carton organic veg broth to low boil. then added 1 chopped tomato and few handfuls chopped carrot, handful quinoa, sea salt, bay leaf. after cooked well added some water for extra broth. kinda wish i had left the quinoa out.

very simple, but just enough to transition back in!! the last few times i went way overboard with the soup, b/c i was so excited to make it!! this way made just enough that I won't need to throw so much out!! will do orange and grapefruit juice all day tomorrow and broth and soup thru afternoon, evening

Hey TeePee (and anyone else reading) - For future reference, when making your soup, avoid quinoa, stick to veggies (people have had difficult even with beans though burroughs says that's an ok ingredient), and make the broth from scrath - no store bought broth.

making broth is simple and soooo good for you because it is all natural, with no preservatives or extra ingredients. Just make the soup the same way and use water instead. I'd also suggest not using the olive oil on your breaking the soup cleanse. But basically, add water, the veggies, garlic, onion etc and then let them boil in. Then add seasonings and what not - you can use dehydrated soup mixes like Burroughs suggests (check in the ethnic food section of your supermarket for Maggi veggie soup mix, my fav http://www.mexgrocer.com/2720.html). Anyway, let the veggies boil and you've got a delicious all natural homemade broth.

    Question Question regarding 'Juice Day'

Today is Day Ten, and tomorrow I shift to orange/grapefruit juice. According to the book, you drink juice only that day, juice until dinner time the following, and juice in the morning the third day.

For those who have done this....how many oranges (grapefruits) did you buy to get through the three days? I am heading to the store today...and don't typically eat much citrus fruit so really don't want to overbuy.

    Thanks.

    Soups.
My fiance and I use the Cabbage soup diet a lot as it has worked for him now over 20 years. This soup will work well with this diet also. Cabbage, onion, leeks, garlic and veggies to your hearts content just no beans or oils etc. The broth I have used Chicken broth in the past but with soy sauce and other seasonings very often even as a meat eater I have not needed the chicken or store bought broth as you have mentioned.

Great points good soup and I have found that the soup has been very cleansing I just have to be careful about the amount of garlic as you can get stinky
    Life life for today!

Lisa, I moved your post to the appropriate thread.

Get alot of oranges/ grapefruit because you do NOT want to run out. I'd say get about 10 and see how the first day goes. On the first day I have a lemonade or two to keep me going too.

It's okay to overbuy because you can eat oranges for days. Remember you need to take it slow before going back to regular food so keeping alot of fresh fruits and veggies handy is a great idea.

Default Re: Breaking the fast -- add a liver flush?

I've asked before, but haven't been able to find a response.

Does anyone know anything about including a liver/gallbladder cleanse/flush at the end of the MC? I've read that people do so, but am unsure as to the timing and such. Most of the liver cleanses I've read suggest drinking extra apple juice for a week before flushing so that you soften any stones. I'm wondering if one should wait until they are back on food to flush the liver or if you simply do the epsom salt/olive oil portion of the flush without adding the apple juice before.

I appreciate any guidance for anyone who has done one of these as part of coming off the MC.

Jeff: I would do the cleanse (liver) *before* going back on food. Most people say they don't have a problem with it and I'm curious myself - but ingesting that much olive oil with potential food still backed up is a bit scary to me.

If you do the flush, PM me and let me know how it went because I'm considering doing it as well. Here's one of the links: Curezone liver flush It gets pretty graphic.

    Day ten...woo hoo!

    Made it...

Lot easier then I ever expected, already have my oranges for day 11, and morning of day 12, with soup in afternoon...

question is the night of day 12 to earlier to go out for a small dinner?

will my system be able to handle it?

thanks, please private message me, hard for me to find responses, I dont get back right away

Hey Lance, could you put your dinner off later? I think it's best to be safe and follow the breaking the fast protocol as designed to get best results.
If you have to, absolutely have to go to dinner - then just have a salad. Everything might look good and delicious but it's not worth the possible stomach pains etc. You've been so good to yourself by doing the MC, you may as well go full out and keep being kind to your body.

    best wishes.
