Wow, holy crap (no pun intended). I hate being someone who passes on Urban Legends but apparently I have been. I ran over to Snopes and typed in John Wayne and sure enough the rumor floating around about his colon and 80 lbs of crap was just that - crap! Take a peek "John Wayne Urban Legend".

I don't proliferate email spam. I certainly don't want to do that here so I'm so glad you brought this up because it compelled me to find it for myself. Thank you.

For the most part, I have a difficult time believing even "legitimate sounding" information because no one really knows most of these things and so many people (including experts) just make stuff up! So, we're back to where we SHOULD be and that's to research things for ourselves and then to present the truth.

So okay, it seems pretty clear that taking a high fiber substance like psyllium and clay like bentonite would produce some thick stools. I mean, its gotta come out somewhere, right? ... But that doesn't necissarly disprove mucoid plaque, it just means that the long rope thing isn't the plaque.

Maybe the rope-like stool is exactly what is scrubbing out the insides of your instestines. Its not impossible to think that, somewhere in that rope, there's not only the psyllium and bentonite but also some plaque, mucous, parasites even... whatever junk was in the intestine. But yeah it seems pretty obvious that if you ingested those two things it would come out looking pretty thick and rope-y. However that doesn't mean its not doing any beneficial things inside your body.

Honestly I know next to nothing about any of this though and am just using some critical thinking to get to the bottom of it.

Interesting thread and links, thanks all for the reading! I had seen those sites before and will make sure to do even more research in future!

Cool Re: MUCOID PLAQUE - FACT OR FRAUD??

I remember seeing something on this when I was getting ready to start my cleanse last January. It was either a post from Peter or one of the other senior members. I believe they said that you get the same effect from doing an MC (i.e. removal of excess mucous, etc.) but the reason it is solid like that is because of the psyllium and bentonite. I believe TrueLivingKN is correct - it removes the bad stuff along with the clay.

Either way I'd rather do it naturally with the MC and not have to see that horridness....

Hello, and thanks to all for the information about the plaque build up.

I went for a physical on September 12th, and told my Doctor I was going to do the Master Cleanse. He hadn't heard of it, but said it doesn't sound bad, when I told him what the drink consisted of. He told me to be careful, and if I felt light headed quite often, to discontinue the cleanse. I mentioned the plaque build up that all these infommercial cleanses claim, and he told me that it's a hoax. He told me that the intestinal and colon walls are similar to our skin. Old skin dies and flakes off, and so does the lining of our intestinal and colon walls, then new lining takes it's place, as with our skin. I had never heard that before, so I have recently sent emails asking other Doctor's if this is true. Has anyone else heard that.

Feel free to email me, I have my mail open to anyone.

    Thanks,
    Eddie

Hi Truth: Apparently everyone knows it all. I've never had the Mucoid plaque "exit" but so many others on the board have described it in horror so I'm inclined to believe them.

Doctors really don't know it all - they know what they're trained to know. Fortunately alot of them are "seeking the truth" and treating patients alternatively. So, you just have to go with what works for you. Feel free to post the results of any research you do.

    Hi Res,

I see what you're saying, but from what TrueLivingKN, and others have said, it's the psyllium and clay like bentonite that causes the blob that exits those who do that type of cleanse. Do you see my point now?

I did the MC for 6 days a month ago and felt great during it, but had nothing like that plaque build up exit me. So the only people who are experiencing that blob of plaque are the people who use the psyllium and clay like bentonite, correct? Therefore, what my Doctor said could very well be true. Has anyone else heard this from any Doctor's?

Someone else also said that they have a relative who is knowledgable with colonoscopies, and always experience a very pink colon and intestines when performing them. My mother is 75, and had one a few yearsa go. She seen all the pictures from it, and said they were all very pink, no sludge build up what so ever.

    Thanks,
    Eddie

Hi Truthseeker: I absolutely see your point. The true Master Cleanse and psyllium and bentonite aren't supposed to be done at the same time. I wouldn't trust any testimonies of those doing it this way although it's entirely up to them how they mix the two. It's not supported here.

My point was people on the board doing the cleanse correctly have reported this. Since the minimum cleanse days are 10, I doubt if you'd expel the mucoid plaque. I've heard of members on a much longer cleanse expeling it. Again, I'm inclined to believe them. Also I don't believe everyone passes the plaque just like everyone doesn't have tape worms. It just depends on your diet. But we're all simply learning right?

Ok, so there definitely are people who have done the MC and experienced the alien looking discharge? I didn't notice anyone say that in this particular thread, so sorry for my ignorance.

    When a member said this...

My father is a retired pathologist who has performed many autopsies, and is another of the voices who definitively says he has not ever seen any such abnormal slime chunks in human intestines. I am inclined to believe him.
It made me really skeptical about the build up.

Ok, now I need to know how long those people were on the master cleanse before they experienced the alien leaving their body? I want to get it out, because I don't make bowel movements as I should, and it always feels like something big wants to come out, yet my stool is always thin and wormy looking. (no literal worms)

    Thanks,
    Eddie

You can use the search feature. You might want to use a few key words like black, mucoid, plaque, gross etc. Hopefully most of those posts are still here. We lost a lot a while back when migrating the board.
