Thread: Laxatives and exercise?

    Default Laxatives and exercise?

So I am generally very active. I run 3-6 times a week, and run marathons on a regular basis. However, everytime I try to do a running workout, the laxative elements of the diet seem to kick in and the only workout I get is running back and forth to the john. I have tried varying the times of day that I do my workout (which is difficult since I live in a very warm climate and the best time of day for a run is in the am), and no matter when I try to workout, I still end up in the toilet. Has anyone had similar problems or have suggestions?

Yes, I've also experienced that. Running is tough with laxitaves, I woud say to try other workouts during the cleanse.

How Laxatives for Weight Loss Work

The primary mechanism of laxatives is that they hasten the movement of bowels through the digestive tract. Laxatives are primarily made for people who have difficulty in eliminating waste products, and also for people who should avoid straining themselves during defecation. Laxatives for weight loss are modified in certain ways. First, they lower the ability of the body to absorb and store fats. This is very important since once fat is stored, it would be harder to burn them. This is the reason why laxatives for weight loss are better since they could eliminate fat before they are absorbed by the body.

mikemikefoxtrot, I am SO with you in this! I just got back from a 50 mile training ride (cycling) and was glad I could make it thru 19 miles. The bathrooms are few and far between and I got up super early to take my SWF, but it still wasn't all the way done, if you know what I mean, by the time the ride was supposed to start. I was lucky someone else had other troubles and we left a little late, giving me time to find a bathroom again before we left. It's always touch and go with early morning activities. I've had to skip my regular gym time early in the morning most of this week due to the cleanse. I figure, the SWF is more important to keep the toxins moving out.

Other activities in the morning might be good, -OR- do what you and I just did ... keep trying to stay on schedule with your normal fitness routine; just realize that you may be interrupted.

Oh, one other thing I do is a fairly rigorous belly massage in the general direction from the stomach thru the small intestines and then following the large intestines up and around. That does seem to help. Also, jumping jacks - anything to get the gut to move faster.

I've been doing these cleanses for years now. And it seems that with every cleanse my SWF takes less time - I think that means I'm clearer(?). Not sure. But this morning, it only took about 30 minutes from gulping the SWF to being mostly through with it.

Good luck with it. Please share any other tips you find. I'm cheering you on!!! Stay cool!
