Acid Reflux Disease on the Cleanse
Peter, this is mostly for you.
I have GERD and have started the cleanse. Day 1 saw no problems, but day 2 has seen me with severe heartburn.
I talked to my GI doctor before beginning the cleanse, and he said I should be fine for 10 days not taking pills etc., as I usually take Nexium for my GERD. With the heartburn on day 2 though, I decided I should probably take my pills, so I took it in the morning as usual (after the SWF), and was nauseous about half an hour later, and ended up throwing up the pill.
I have tried heartburn tea, as an alternative, and it works for a short time, then stops working again. As a last resort I took two Tums, and they have done the trick. I know I am not supposed to alter the Cleanse in any way, and I am certain that all the stuff in Tums is putting toxins back into me, but I am at a loss as to whether or not I should take them, or what. The heartburn is unbearable otherwise.
What are your thoughts?
