AFTER the Master Cleanse - Advice Regarding Protein Supplements for Body Building
Hello Master Cleanse Universe:
I am hoping to begin a conversation about the use of Body Building Supplements AFTER the Master Cleanse.
For the past year I have been doing Bikram Yoga, building up my general strength, stamina and flexibility. I am very pleased with my progress, but I have alway seen this as phase one of a specific program. I have always been quite thin and it is my desire to get involved in weight training AFTER I finish the Master Cleanse that I am presently in.
So the conversation is about dietary supplements. The general training regimen (using Bill Philips as a reference) involves a high intensity weight traing session EVERY OTHER DAY,
allowing for the cycle of tearing of muscle fiber and the necessary rest and nourishment. In a way, it becomes like gardening - to get results efficiently requires not only an exercise program, but also a dietary program.
It is clear that I will need to consume a lot of protein to get to where I am going.
The question is: What is the best - that is to say - the most 'harmonic' path to follow, relative to the Master Cleanse / Raw food lifestyle? It seems to me that after the cleanse, I will need to stray from the path for a time and load myself with whey protein supplements.
Has anybody done this?
Any thoughts or suggestions?

I am in a similar boat, but I am trying to edit the master cleanse for a bodybuilder.
As for your question as an experienced bodybuilder, I believe that all protein should be sourced through whole foods (not the company lol.) I also think that if you are going to start using supplements like creatine, you should first get to know your body and its limits before using them. That being said, if you are going to use supplements I would use only organic and stick to creatine and aminos of all types. I say this because they are what your body is made of and this will help keep your body and especially your liver healthy.
Re: AFTER the Master Cleanse - Advice Regarding Protein Supplements for Body Building
My goal is to compete in a figure competition but I was having a hard time getting my weight to start dropping even when I was eating a primarily raw diet. I have about 50lbs of fat to loose and 10 lbs of muscle to gain to get to my goal body fat %. However I am adamant that this goal is possible on a high raw diet after I complete the master cleanse (I am on day 1). My research has lead me to a book called "Raw Power" by Thor Bazler and a lot of reading on super foods ( David Wolfe has a good book on super foods). Supplements that I will be using to build my body after some detox will be the raw power protein super food powder, chlorella and spirulina tablets (these are very high protein by weight compared to other foods ~60%, Thor Bazler supplements up to 75 grams of protein a day using these tablets), mineral supplements (vitamineral green, blue ocean minerals, msm powder, etc), super foods that I think will help me are maca, bee pollen, gogi berries, afa blue green algae. Of course I will need to experiment to see what works best for me but I don't want to use any artificial, chemical based supplements and stick to as much of the raw food principles I can. I didnt cover everything in the books, just what jumped out at me, so you may find others in your research that you think will be more appropriate for you. Good luck in finding what works for you.
