    Hi,

I have had the same issues. Here's what happened to me and see if this helps you at all. When I started the cleanse, I didn't do the SWF the first 2 days and was weighing myself daily. I had lost 7 lbs.!!!! I started the flush and lost 1 lb the first day of it, but then began to gain weight after that. Yes, I was weighing myself every day which is probably a no no. I quit the SWF for awhile and began losing again. I realized that the SWF was beneficial although it didn't show on the weight loss part so I kept going on with it anyway. From that point on, I decided to weigh every 3 days and also added in drinking more water. I attributed the weight gain to the SWF but you should lose something if you keep on doing what it says to do. I did go back down and am on day 16 and lost 10 lbs. as of today. It wasn't as much as I hoped but I was also told that it may depend on how overweight you are. Not sure if that's true or not but one thing I figured may happen when I complete the fast (possibly tomorrow) is that I will lose the weight after stopping the SWF with doing juicing and just eating healthy fruits and veggies for awhile. I hope this helps and brings you some encouragement.

    thanks sarah

i still havent lost i will try to drink more water but the lemonaid fills me up . one thing i think could be a cotributor is im on my cycle this week but normaly do not gain during my cycle or anything . i am concerned with the carb intake just the syrup alone is 48 carbs per two tablespoons so that is almost 500 carbs for 10 to12 cups a day plus the carbs in the lemons . has anyone else had a gaining problem from this ? should i do something else ? i did take a ebsome salt bath yesturday to get rid of more toxins and try to not feel so tired ive been feeling tired for a cupple of days so i figured i would try to speed up the toxin relese . that is another concern i have if im gaining and not loosing am i holding in the toxins? instead of flussing them out ? i havent had any problems having the morning bm so i figured that im still releaseing the toxins? but if im gaining maybe they are reattaching? what do i do ? anyone have any ideas?

It's me again. Of course it could be your part of the mentruation cycle as you tend to retain water then (at least I do). I also wonder if you could cut back on the lemonade drinks or the maple syrup. I averaged about 6-7 drinks a day, drinking water in between. When I did the SWF in the morning, I was very thirsty and drank water after that so I wasn't hungry until about mid-morning for my first drink but not sure you are suppose to do it that way. I usually got hungry about every 2 hours after that. Sometimes, I would add in an herbal tea just to have something a little different. I did the epsom salt baths but was told to put a heater in the room and make the water as hot as you can to promote sweating which helps to take out more toxins. I would just suggest more water and less drinks but I think you need to maintain at least 6 drinks a day according to the book and what I've heard. Sure hope that helps some. Hang in there. Maybe some people just take longer to lose than others, not sure.

    Question Re: Weight Gain

    Hi Day,
I am so glad you posted this. I am also gaining instead of losing. Really weird. I am on day 7 and Havnt really lost any weight. Maybe a lb or so. What I have done is cut back on my syrup intake and Im only drinking the min, 6 glasses. I am averaging about 1 tsp per glass of lemonade. I now might gain a pound or stay the same. So frustrating. I am not doing this to lose weight, but as something recommended for health reasons, but honestly when reading about the weight loss I got excited as it wouldn't hurt to lose a few pounds. I do plan on going on a mostly raw diet which will take care of weight loss, but I still do not want to continue to gain weight.

Would love to know if anyone else has experienced this and what they would recommend. On another post some recommended more water and epson salt baths like Sara. Also decrease the syrup.

A very effective way of gaining weight and keeping the nutritional value in balance is to consume a lot of simply drinking water that does not contain any kind of taste. Besides being a favourable for many nutritional supplements, drinking water also results in holding nutritional value into the tissues and holding spend out of the tissues for the body to practice proper functioning.

    Hi Guys,

I too am doing the master cleanse and lost 10 lbs in the first 4 days and then after doing a salt water flush started to gain - 3 lbs to be exact. This for me was very weird since this is my fourth time (or so) around the block and I never experienced this.

Maybe it is the salt water flush that promotes water retention and thus weight gain.
