    Good morning Lemonheads!

Wow - DAY 8! I'm half way through!

Trouble sleeping last night - really stuffed up and things on my mind. I'm hoping the stuffiness is a detox symptom. My first movement this morning (before the SWF had a chance to really go through yet) was pretty phlegmy. Yuck - but I think good to get stuff out of my system!

Was so nice at a small gathering yesterday to have someone really interested in the cleanse instead of looking at me funny and listening in a skeptic manner. My husband commented that he likes that I do this and that I usually seem brighter and glowing after doing the cleanse!

Planned a dinner out with friends for the 17th, which will be my first real food day ... and most likely will just get a yummy salad. Yeah - so excited for that! In the mean time I'm going to yet another large party on Saturday which will be a potluck full of great foods - but I"ll just remember how amazing that salad will taste on the 17th and how great I will feel!

Oh, I had a dream that I got on the scale and had finally gotten down below 140 (I think the scale said 137). In the dream I kept getting on the scale over and over to make sure it was reading correctly. What a great feeling in that dream! I'm still over 10 pounds away from that goal - but WHEN I get there, it will be the first time in decades (probably since having my second child who is now 17). I don't know how old all of you are, but I'm 51 and let me tell you that even a pretty active an athletic person like me can pack on the pounds so quickly as the decades pass. SO frustrating. Since turning 50 I feel like I'm trying so hard to eat less and eat better, only to just barely maintain weight (and sometimes still put more on). Gotta accept this change and develop new habits. One thing I really am mindful of after the cleanse is really enjoying every single bite of food ... truly savoring it ... and try not to just eat mindlessly without even noticing the food (and therefore stuffing more into my face).

My weight stalled as of this morning's weigh-in. This is normal for me, but I'm going to really down alot of water today - to help flush out this phlegm (with toxins) and clear things up!

little piper - I'm so impressed! For me this cleans is SO mental and I always have to decide the number of days before I start. I don't think I could go day by day and just "see how it goes" and keep going as long as I can. You are an inspiration!!!

baddison - I love your energy and "Yay Me!". Awesome! and Happy Mothers Day coming up!

Keep posting, all - it's so helpful to know we're all together in this!!

    Make it a great day,

    Hello everyone.
I am new to this forum, and currently on Day 8 of my first ever cleanse. I was told about the lemonade plan from my acupuncturist and thought I’d give it a try to press the Reset button before switching to a healthier anti-inflammatory diet.
I have a couple of questions from the experienced people out there.
First, if there are any endurance athletes I am wondering how they schedule time for this cleanse between training. I have a 100 mile bike ride to do in a month and I can’t do any of the long rides to get ready because, one I don’t feel I have the energy reserves to make it 30-40 miles, and two I would be too far from a bathroom for too long.
Second, has anyone had experience with cortisone injections and how they are impacted by the cleanse? I had one in my hip about 6 weeks ago and was completely pain free before I started and now I’m starting to feel the pain return. I don’t know if is just the shot wearing off of its own accord or if the cleanse is cleaning out the cortisone in the detoxification and I’m hastening the process by doing the cleanse.

Looking forward finishing up and eating a huge salad for dinner on Mother's Day.

When I need energy reserves for a longer workout, I keep my lemonade with me. If you have two bottle cages, put the LA in one and water in the other. Sipping the LA along the bike ride should help you keep your energy reserves up. Of course shake it a bit first to pull the cayenne up after it settles in the bottom of the bottle.

I'm afraid I don't have any experience with this, but hopefully someone else does and can help you!

Good Morning... Day 8 here! Still going strong with barely any detox symptoms. I did have one evening where I was slightly stuffed up and flemmy, but alas it was gone after my morning SWF.

KDub... Yes, the MC is detoxing the meds from your system.

I am happy that I decided to end my cleanse at 10 days! My goal was to be as healthy as possible, but due to the lack of detox, I feel that the 10 day minimum will be as good as it gets this time. It's good to know that eating healthier has paid off... don't get me wrong, I am normal and indulge in things that I shouldn't on occassion. I have just been eating MORE OFTEN at home and less pre-packaged food.

Already have my oranges for Friday!!! Yeah... can't wait Who knew that we would all be soo excited about oranges, salad and veg soup!

    Have a great day MC'ers!!

Day 4 and feeling good. Hungrier today than on days 1-3. I am looking forward to my next LA where I had to really make sure that I drank all 6 on days 1-3. I drink lots of water already but added some more of that as well. I hope everyone is having a great day!

    MASTER CLEANSE DAY 8:

Its day 8, and feeling great. Although I do believe I tried to push my self a bit too hard during this morning's workout. Nonetheless...I'm really looking forward to my OJ coming up in the next few days, and its got me really motivated. Got on the scale to be greeted with another 2pounds lost. That's really nice. Also looking forward to the Mothers day weekend. Still no "obvious" detox symptoms to complain about, even though I know I'm detoxing the body. Guess its all passing thru, and then out, during eliminations. I gotta say, this cleanse is turning out to be the best experience I've had. My other cleanses always had a period of uncomfortable moments, but not this one. Its a breeze. Guess it really does get easier and simpler the more often you do it. Well, see you all tomorrow!!

    Hello all,

    Day 16....

Not feeling so great today. My energy level is way down and attitude is poor. Not sure what to make of this. I seem be be indecisive about anything that comes to mind. Is this part of the detox that I've just not experienced or is my body telling me something different? If any of you "ole timer MC ers" could help me out on this, I would greatly appreciate it.

My tongue has not turned pink yet, so I'm not really ready to call it quits but I know if my attitude doesn't change asap, I, uh I, I, I don't know what I'm gonna do.

Thanks all in advance for your help, hope your sun is shinning. Its sorta cloudy here!

Little piper - I am not an old timer, but wanted to lend some moral support. You mentioned in previous posts that you maybe needed to drink more water. Are you dehydrated? I know that sounds funny for a liquid diet, but with all of the eliminations, I'm sure it happens. If you want to make it to 21 - YOU CAN DO IT!! But, as a first timer I have told myself that if my body starts to have adverse reactions after the recommended 10 days, I am going to break the fast and just be happy with the detox days that I did complete. So take care of yourself and have a great day.

I have a question if there are other experienced MC members on here - if a newbie is coming straight from an Atkins diet, is there an effect on weight loss? Slow to start, etc.?

Baddison - way to go, glad your detox is going so well!

Colibri - how fun to have a great party scheduled to celebrate the end of the fast. I will have to do that!

Purangl07 and KDub - almost there!

    Everyone have a great day!

Day 9 - One More Day

Time to buy some oranges and get ready for something new on Friday. I really can't believe how satisfied I'm feeling on this cleanse in general. I have moments of hunger, but nothing I can't deal with by using simple distraction or another glass of lemonade.

Last night I had to make a large batch of homemade macaroni and cheese to take to a potluck dinner. Chopping up the cheese and putting it together without sampling was a true test of my willpower. It wasn't so much that I was craving it, but it's a habit and I usually sample a lot while trying to adjust the salt. I had to have my daughters help with the salt adjustment. We must have done pretty well because there wasn't any to bring home. What I had to keep reminding myself of while cooking is that it would probably make me very sick to eat this stuff right now and it would not be worth it. For whatever reason, armed with my lemonade, I had no problem sitting at the dinner watching other people eat and sipping on my drink.

Purangl07 - Thanks for the feedback on the meds. I guess it's good that I'm only going 10 days then because I don't want to be back where I was before the injection which was hardly able to walk. It looks like we are on the same schedule, just finish up today and one more to go.

Little piper - congrats on making it to Day 16. Is this your first clease? That's ambitious for a first time if that is the case. I think I'll try something longer post hip replacement when I'm not trying to keep meds in my system.

DAY 9 - only 5 more SWF's to get down! Today's SWF went down in just a couple of minutes - chug chug chug!

KDub - good job on cooking! We're in the middle of a kitchen remodel so I've done very little cooking this go-round, but on past cleanses I cook up a storm! Without even licking a finger. I'm with you - even if I feel sort of tempted out of habit to take a bite, I can easily move forward by asking "would I really want to eat that right now, knowing how terribly I would feel immediately afterward?" - not to mention how much worse I would feel later. In a way it's kind of fun to create when you can't even taste-test it - and to have it well-received (as was your delicious homemade mac n cheese!). ENJOY that OJ on Friday - woo hoo!

selway - yes, so looking forward to the dinner out with friends - even though it's a good-bye dinner - will be so fun and t-a-s-t-y . I think these friends are getting tired of me hanging out and just sipping my LA as they continue to offer me the goodies they are eating then remember "oops!". ALSO, I'm going to a wedding just a few days after my cleanse is over and I know I'm going to feel great!

little piper - I don't know if this will help you, but up until just about 15 minutes ago I was feeling very sluggish and tired today. I had some running around to do this morning and am was behind on my LA's. Since it's hard to "chug" the LA due to the cayenne, I just ate a teaspoon of the maple syrup (which I happen to really love) - I savor every little bit until the teaspoon is gone. Then I drank about a quart of water. You wouldn't believe how much better I feel!!! I just needed the boost. I've done this on past cleanses (just a couple of times per cleanse) and it always helps me when I'm feeling sluggish. Just be careful not to keep eating teaspoon after teaspoon full. Hope this helps! Oh, and I've seen many people say NOT to quit on what seems like a detox day. Let that day take its course and quit on a day when you are feeling good.

When I read about you who are on the same schedule as me that Day 10 is coming soon (tomorrow!), I'm a little envious ... but when I think about it I know I'm not ready to be done yet. This cleanse is so mental for me. I told myself 14 days before I started so my mind is geared up for the full 14 days. I can do it!

We all can do it and it's so worth it. Keep it up everyone!
