    Default Day 6

Good morning, sorry I didn't check in again yesterday. I did manage to run my errands in spite of the cold rain. I finally got a decent night's sleep last night! Last night I was sure to set a timer on my tea so I wouldn't over steep it again. That seemed to do the trick!

So here I am at Day 6, the first half of the cleanse if over!

EmilyNicole, I'm worried you may need to call emergency services. Please at least have someone bring you juice, which you may need to water down at first, and take care of you asap if you have not already. If you cannot reach a friend, then please call emergency services or just call them right now. This does not sound like something that should be delayed.

TMCc, I use limes in pretty much every cleanse. They are my weapon against boredom and I usually wait until day 7 to use them. They are one of my little incentives plus I fear if I use them too early I would also get bored of the limes and lemon-lime combo. I don't much care for a 100%limeade but I do love the combination. I think the limes are zestier and very refreshing in small doses. I'm sure it's all a matter of taste so try a few experiments. and OMG, I had no idea you were doing your swf at room temp! I can't stand to do it any other way but warm. At night I put my salt and quart of water in a pot with a lid so it's ready to be heated upon waking.

    DRBREW, good luck tomorrow!

Jen, how are you feeling today? How much water did you drink besides the swf, lemonade, and senna tea?

Shakey, your mom is awesome! I am so sorry about your fog/fatigue and hope that clears up for you. Was there much damage from the wall incident? Are you okay?

Hi Everyone! It's March 1st and I'm jumping In with all of you today! I started MC'ing in 2008 and have done it a ton of times...most times were 21 days, once for 30..... Not because I needed to but to see if I could. :-). I find that my body is very intuitive and I always set a number of days but allow my body to guide me. If I need less or more I adjust. Setting this one for my usual 21 days. I have not done it in quite awhile so I'll be scanning the pages in search of familiar names. No....my name isn't actually Otis....it's Lynda....:-).
I always loved this board and coming here daily for the camaraderie. Super excited!!!

    Hi everyone!!

otis/Lynda Hello! Welcome to Day 1! I hope your cleanse goes well for you! I think this will become a part of my annual spring cleaning as well. I just love it.

Ursa Oh I agree, limes do have a bit more flavor to them. That's a great idea I'm keeping in my MC notebook. I find that is the most challenging part of the MC, the same thing day in and day out. I really give kudos to those who complete 20-30 day cleanses because it can be boring. Congrats on day 6! WOO HOO! All downhill from here! I knooooow, I don't know what I was thinking! Day 7 and I learn how to make the SWF bearable. haha Though it wasn't completely awful, it was uncomfortable, and only because of my water temp. Such a difference!

DRBREW Oh good, I'm sure it won't be pleasant, but bearable without painkillers. Good luck tomorrow!

EmilyNicole This board is great for support and has helped me immensely. Sorry to hear you couldn't make it through a shower. I'd just lay down in it. Ha ha. My friend had surgery a few years back and my mom told her to do just that (mom is an RN) because she was so sick and couldn't sit up either. I'm hoping to go 10 days and feel great! I have something coming up that might cause me to end early, but we shall see. I know I can do 10 easily (maybe more). Regarding smoking, I've read on this board people who are trying to give up coffee, meat, cheese, and smoking and quitting all that stuff at once is very challenging. While smoking isn't encouraged, it might be worse to have so many withdrawals at one time. Many people find that as the cleanse continues- they smoke less. Maybe your friend should simply cut back. Make small goals to have 4 on day 1, 3 on day 2, 2 on day 3....etc. I really hope you feel better soon!! Sending positive thoughts your way today. Be safe and I agree with Shakey, keep a phone handy incase you need to call someone.

Shakey OH NO! Sorry to hear about your car! Ouch. Maybe it was trying to cleanse itself too and get rid of the extra bumper weight? (is it too early for jokes? ) i hope you are doing well today and start to regain some mental clarity. I find in the afternoons, I get super fuzzy. Your mom is sweet for bringing you some yummy limes and lemons! Can she swing by my house?

Doctor Bunsen and Kimberly82 I hope you both are doing well!!

Well today is Day 8(!) for me. I can't believe how easy this is at this point. Your body just goes into cruise control and I feel amazing. I have been doing some light work from home (I freelance and luckily had a break in projects) and running errands since day 2. I didn't drink enough water yesterday and am paying for it with a massive headache. I'm feeling better already though.

Unfortunately (and fortunately) I have a job interview today. I know they want someone immediately and have a feeling I might be starting work on Monday. I am weary of working a full day where I need to have strong focus to start a new job with only drinking juice (that would be Day 2 of coming off my cleanse). Can any of you that have completed a 10 day (or any day) give me some advice as to how you feel when you switch to juice coming off the cleanse? Will my energy pick back up? I don't want to get sick at a new job. haha Of course, this is all contingent that I get it. If not, I will absolutely continue my cleanse until Saturday. I really want to finish this and feel that it would be simple, but worry about being foggy my first couple days of work.

I'm engaged and would really be excited to start a new job. We need to money to save for the wedding, so it is important that I can be 100%. I've just come so far that I would hate to stop now. Although maybe once I get a feel for being back to work, I could jump back on in a couple months. I've not worked a full workday in a while (I was laid off last year) so I know it takes time to adjust to the 8-5 again. Any thoughts or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Happy Cleansing everyone! Stay strong and carry on.

    Default Day 6

I've had 5 lemonades so just have one left to finish day 6. Today I did a salt scrub which felt great, I really have to remember to do them more often.

TMCc, I have had juice early in the morning of day 11 and then veggie soup as early as lunchtime that day with no trouble. I suppose if I did a lengthy clease I would ease in more slowly. I do eat the veggie soup for the next day or two before resuming my normal diet. Of course my normal diet gets healthier and healthier with each cleanse so we'll see what my new normal is. haha

Lynda, welcome back and good luck in the days or weeks to come!

    Welcome to the team Otis.

DRBREW, best of luck for tomorrow.

Ursa, that is encouraging. Whilst I was craving healthy food for the first eight days I have been unable to think about anything except chinese takeaway, curry and cheese-covered pasta today. I will allow myself to indulge a bit once I have broken the fast properly, for a few days at least, before implementing my healthy eating and exercise plan. I am amazed that you and other people only drink the minimum six drinks per day. I can easily down 12 and still be wanting more, but then I am not exactly small.

EmilyNicole, please let us know you are alright. I can only repeat what everyone else has said and add that now is not the time to let your pride get in the way of your health.

TheMCchickadee, my car has a few more scratches but I don't really care. I immediately knocked on my neighbour's door and showed him. He told me he wasn't even sure if it was their wall or our's anyway and picked up the part I knocked off and put it back. It is only a small wall. I promised to make sure it got fixed. Yes, my Mother is wonderful. Unfortunately Seattle is rather far away and she is going to London tomorrow which is even further, but I will ask her anyway. Best of luck for the job interview, or 'pob lwc' as we'd say in my country. But I don't know what to do with those tossed salads and scrambled eeeeeegsss...

Well, I have a day off tomorrow so I am planning on drinking a lot of water in order to flush myself and play some music. Even though tomorrow is day ten I do not want to break the fast over my very busy weekend in work as I have no idea what to expect. For now the plan is to see how I feel on Sunday night. If I break the fast on Monday it will be a twelve day cleanse which would make me very happy. I raise my glass of spicy lemonade to you. Let's keep it going!

    Hi Everyone,
This is Day 2 for my husband and me. He's doing great, but i have literally spent the whole day in bed with a horrid migraine. Not a good thing when you have 5 kids. Thankfully I have my 19 and 15 yr old who have helped immensely with cooking and helping with their younger siblings. I ended up taking ibuprofen because the headache was so intense. I fell asleep and woke up feeling a lot better, but really guilty for taking the ibuprofen.

Ursa, I was only drinking the Senna tea at night, the SWF in the morning, then the lemonade through out the day. I had 6 lemonades yesterday and planned to do 8 today. Unfortunately I slept all day and have only had 6. I'll try and get some water in me though. Thank you, I appreciate the advice. Your salt scrub sounds nice and kudos on eating healthier.

TheMCchickadee, Wow, Day 8! Good for you! Congrats on your engagement. How did your interview go?

EmilyNicole, I hope you are feeling better by now.

Shakey, yikes about your car! I'm glad you are OK.

Lynda, you are one day behind me! I will be excited to read of your progress. Reading of how everyone is doing helps me get through my day. I would love to also do 21 days, but being that this is my first time I think I will take it day by day.

Default Day 6 coming to a close

I'm finished my lemonades and will have tea soon so I can go to sleep early. I feel cold today even though I'm wearing a sweater and I notched the heat up a couple degrees.

Jen, you should drink at least as much water as you do lemonade, probably more. I learned that the hard way years ago and am now quite vigilant about my water intake. I try to drink a lot in the morning so I start my day freshly hydrated and then have a glass of it after each lemonade throughout the day. You can very easily become dehydrated on this cleanse.

Shakey, 6 feels like too many after the first day or so. The lemonades are so filling! I'm only 5'5" and maybe 115 pounds so I don't need much on this. Interstingly enough, I don't lose weight while cleansing which is good because I don't want to lose any.

    Default Day 7 begins

Good morning, everyone! I'm thinking now that it's my day 7 I may start playing around with limes to break up the monotony a bit.

I got another decent night of sleep. Using a timer when I steep the senna tea at night is really helping. I drank my salt water flush about 30 minutes ago. I haven't made my lemonade yet but will once I finish my glass of water.

My tongue hasn't really gotten too gross, maybe one day that the coating was on the thick side. By this morning it's nearly pink so that's encouraging.

Hi Everyone! Thank you so much to everyone for all their help and concern. As several of you suggested, I did have my cell phone beside me at all times in case I needed urgent help. One of my friends brought over Orange Juice yesterday, as well as several different kinds of fruit and veggie soup for me to try today if I felt ready. Drinking that Orange Juice was one of the best feelings in the world. Feeling it enter my bloodstream was like a gift from heaven. I immediately felt better, and continued to gradually improve. I slept a lot, but each time I woke up I had some more sips of it. I can now successfully stand up without feeling dizzy & nauseous! Yay! Today I want to try a little of the fruit and/or veggie soup, but know that I have to go slowly according to everything I've read about water fasts.

MCchickadee - How did your job interview go? As for your concern about breaking the fast, by Monday you will be able to have OJ & Veggie Soup, both of which are easy for most to digest. Plus, you won't be doing the SWF or lax tea anymore, so it's seems unlikely that you'll have stomach cramps or have to run to the bathroom a lot. As for your energy level, mine has always been great at that time. I'm hoping it will be for you too, though I can only speak from my own experience with the MC. I would just try to follow breaking the cleanse as closely as possible to what Peter Glickman & Stanley Burroughs recommend. That should give you the best chance of feeling great as you transition. Congratulations on your engagement!! As for your advice about my friend--I told him about your suggestion to taper off the cigs, and he's giving that a try. I know it's gotta be rough, but I'm really proud of him for giving it his best effort! Thank you for those positive thoughts you sent me--they helped!

Shakey - So glad to hear that everything is fine with the wall incident and that your neighbor wasn't upset. Do you live in Wales?

Jen - Thanks for the message. How are you feeling? I agree w Ursa--I think the main thing that will help w those headaches is more water.

Thanks again to everyone for their help & support! What a sweet & caring community on these boards!

P.S. Ursa - I'm surprised you don't lose any weight at all on the MC. I understand that you're a petite person, but if you're only drinking 6 lemonades a day, isn't that only 600 calories per day? Presumably, you consume considerably more than that on your regular diet, right? So I would think that consuming a significantly lower number of cals for 10 days would cause at least a slight weight loss... Just curious, b/c I haven't encountered anyone yet that didn't lose any. (Then again, my sample pool isn't huge.) Always fascinating to me how the MC affects everyone differently.
