Thread: 2012: What Day Are You On and How Are You Doing?

Today was day 6 for me. Still hanging in there.

Today was probably the toughest day of all. Last night I went to sleep at the normal time but was wide away around 4.30 am I had a stinking headache, I managed to get back to sleep for a few more hours and woke up for work feeling worse, I felt like I was on the brink of a migraine! The headache was pretty bad, I felt nauseous, as I walking to the bus stop I wasn't feeling myself, I just felt odd.

It's approaching 9.00 pm here and I still have a headache. I'm starting to miss food, my sense of smell is super heightened and I've been fighting against giving in! I work in an open plan office and I've had to excuse myself out the office during lunch because the smell of everyone's lunches is incredible! LOL!

I think I may have lost some weight, I don't have a scale but then again, numbers don't matter to me, I just want to get back on track and eat clean again I think I can see some weightloss in my face and my stomach is definitely less bloated (Thank goodness!).

I've been walking home from work which is a good 45 minutes but I miss my regular workout class which is an intense military style bootcamp class. I know it's probably not wise to attend during the duration of the cleanse but I do miss it a great deal

A thing about the SWF, I can't bare it any more. Would it be possible to substitute the SWF for castor oil instead? Or will that hinder the cleanse?

I hope everyone is doing well and having great successes with their cleanse, I look forward to reading me updates

Day 26/40. Last night I thought my head was going to explode - seriously. I have had migraines before and this was 1000 times worse. I tried all of the normal things that usually get rid of them for me - dark, quiet room; cold compress, etc. but it just got worse. I caved and had my husband make me my remedy as a last attempt before I went to the emergency room - instant coffee so thick you can barely stir it. I tried to hold off because I know it doesn't fit in with the MC, but I had no choice. I really thought something in my head was going to burst. It worked and I am back to my MC today with no real effects - upset stomach last night from the coffee drink, but that was to be expected. I was so nauseous last night that it took me an extra hour this AM to work up to drinking the SWF. My husband is starting to worry that I have committed to too long of a cleanse and need to start winding down - but I really want to go to 40 days. My tongue isn't pink yet - and maybe my coffee drink last night will delay that further?

Vince J - so I can relate to the headache, glad you are feeling better. I don't know about the castor oil instead of the SWF. I have read about people using the tea twice daily..... I also work in a building with an open floor plan and have to go somewhere at lunch to avoid the smells. I go for a walk. The people on my floor eat really healthy lunches which is harder to see/smell than say pizza or fast food - I am not even tempted by those, but mango.....yuuummmmm

See352 - glad the blood pressure is hanging in there OK. A little scary about the blurred vision. The only time I had that was when I was pregnant and had high BP - but you said yours was normal that day, so I am not sure, sorry. I am wondering about the OJ and the yeast infection - maybe some other juice or something like that would be better for you. Do you have a juicer? Maybe apple juice? I am not an experienced MCer so hopefully someone that is will stop by and leave their wisdom! You are doing so well - especially with all of the detox!!

Mrs. TinaB - Welcome!!! Just wondering - are the runs getting better? Are they more than the 5-7 SWF purges in the AM? My first day was rough too - I thought it was just the food clearing out.

Shakey - hope you are having a good day and happy cleansing!!

Jennifer - if you happen to check back I would love to hear how breaking the fast went!

Everyone have a great day, we can do this!!!

Hi everyone...day 8 has been great! Worth pushing through. BP this am was 120/80....so happy. Yesterday, day 7 was the only day I was irritable, trust me, everyone in my house let me know :/. Detoxing more, but also cooked all day, so was tired. Cooking all day today for my family, so far, food doesn't bother me with the cleanse.
Selway: so proud of your accomplishment...sorry you feel lousy with the headache, but I think you did right. I am going to try the OJ and see how it goes, but hearing from you, think I may go longer then 10, see how I feel. I do need to do a gallbladder flush, but have to wait to be done with this.. So I will see which is more important. I do feel it bothering me. Please let us know how your breaking the fast does, as it seems like nobody comes back to share
VinceJ: I don't know if it helps, but I do the swf by doing half the dosage of water with the salt, then wash it down with plain water which helps...solutionis stronger, but still working for me.
TinaB: hope you are pressing on!!
Deb: please keep in touch, it is all that pulled me through. Will try to keep checking once done.
Okay...trying all kinds of healthy recipeson my guys...funny, they have to tell me the taste as I can't taste as I cook it! Hahaha. So far they all gave thumbs up.

Day 28/40. 28 lbs down, no pink tongue yet. I am still hanging in there - I talked my husband into letting me go 40 days as I had originally planned. Yeah! Not that I have to get permission for everything, but he was starting to worry about my health so I appreciate that he voiced his concerns.

See352 - lol on the irritability. I had a few spells of that! I am actually better than I was (irritability wise) even last week. Glad to read that your BP is doing so well!

DebM - Welcome! I know what you mean about cooking for the family - weekends are the hardest for me because of having to make 3 meals/day plus snacks, etc. You can do it!

VinceJ - are you done at 10 days? Almost there!!

Mrs.TinaB - things get better after the first day?

Everyone have a great weekend. We can do this!!!!

    Day 16.

I am cruising now. Some mild detox symptoms here and there but they don't bother me anymore. All the way through the cleanse I have been drinking around eight drinks but I am now finding it a struggle to drink the six minimum. I just want to drink water and have considered doing a few days of just water, but usually drink my six drinks in the evening within the space of one hour. Cravings are still there but for healthy things: wholemeal pasta with chickpeas and a huge pile of vegetable and tomato pomodoro sauce, brown rice and veggie stir fry, sushi etc/...

I started off with half a tin (litre) of madal bal syrup which was left over from the last cleanse, then I had nine small bottles of organic, grade b maple syrup. When that started to run out I ordered 64 US fl oz of grade b, organic maple syrup but it has taken so long to arrive that I have had to live day by day on whatever maple syrup I can get my hands on. I must have had five different kinds in the last five days, and I am still worried about the quality of it all.

When I started this cleanse I had the number of 30 days in my head but now I think I could go longer. Maybe 40 days. I have been reading lots of books about health and nutrition. After this cleanse I would like to follow a vegan diet and then increase the amount of raw food. However, my plan after the last cleanse was to follow a vegan macrobiotic diet and it just didn't happen. I still feel like I deserve to eat whatever I want after the cleanse for a while as a reward. Exercise is another thing that has never really stuck either, and that is something I really need to lose more weight and keep it off.

Best of luck guys. Keep going.

Day 29/40. I think I was having detox symptoms yesterday - sore joints. I felt like my wrist was sprained and my hips hurt like crazy. Gone today, weird. Other than that, still cruising along.

Shakey - Fantastic job! It actually got easier after about 10 days - routine like. I am not cutting down on the drinks however, I was super hungry today and looked forward to each lemonade. I had 7 today and am already looking forward to my tea in 27 minutes

I hope everyone is having a great day - hang in there!!!

    Day 17.

Still craving food. I remember on my last, and first, cleanse that someone on these forums wrote that you only really benefit from the master cleanse if you stop craving foods by the time you finish. I really don't think that will happen for me. I hope that doesn't sound negative. I just cannot remember or envisage a time when I have or ever will not crave food.

Selway, congratulations on reaching 30 days. That is awesome. I hope to continue for 40 days as well. My family are starting to nag me about stopping now, and arguing that the cleanse isn't healthy. I feel like throwing both books at them and shouting 'do your damn research!'

Keep going, and don't listen to the naysayers guys.

    hello, fellow cleansers!!
today I begin my 17th Master Cleanse.
I'm exhausted today, I could just fall asleep at my desk!!
eating and drinking yesterday, having a couple of my favorites things!
I'm not really pumped up for doing this like I typically am.
but I'm doing it because it's just what I do.
and I look forward to the end of this work day, when I can go home and lie down and rest.
in the meantime, I will work on regrouping my thoughts to a more positive place.

    all is well,
    Lulu
