Presumably, you consume considerably more than that on your regular diet, right? So I would think that consuming a significantly lower number of cals for 10 days would cause at least a slight weight loss... Just curious, b/c I haven't encountered anyone yet that didn't lose any. (Then again, my sample pool isn't huge.) Always fascinating to me how the MC affects everyone differently.
I can't gain weight either. I have a strange metabolism and typically have to eat more than the average person or else I don't feel well. For some reason I feel fine on the cleanse which I was not sure I would be able to do given my experiences. I've never known anyone with a metabolism like mine but my mother said we'd all be rich if we could bottle it. My doctors all agree that I am perfectly healthy. I am fairly liberal with the maple syrup so I get a few extra calories. I don't think less lemonades necessarily means more weight loss for people since I believe it is the properties of the lemonade that assist in the detoxing and fat burning. Maybe I'm wrong about that but either way, I can't stomach more than 6 lemonades after the first day and I don't lose weight.

Day ten. Physically everything has gone well. Everything else is not good. I have felt depressed, miserable, lonely and angry all day. Everything looks bleak and hopeless, especially the future. All I have been able to think about all day is bad stuff that has happened to me, heartbreak, rejection and past miseries come back to haunt me. I hope your days are better than mine is.

    Day 14 for me.

Had my wisdom tooth extracted this morning at 9:00 am, the tooth came out pretty easily and the novacane wore off some time ago, I took the gauze wad out a couple of hours ago, no bleeding and no need for pain meds yet, nice, I think that I survived!!!!

Six days to go, thanks for all the good wishes, happy cleansing to all!

    Namaste.

Ok, not sure what happened. Just typed this whole thing and it some how disappeared into cyber space.

Well, let's try again. Today is Day 3 and I am happy to say that I am still going strong and determined. Still not feeling 100%, but better than yesterday. Still very hungry. Hoping hunger pangs will pass soon. One thing I did notice today is that I've been craving healthy things. When my son makes his green smoothies, I can actually taste every ingredient. We also blend our baby's baby food out of raw fruits and vegetables and it's so hard for me to feed her right now. Her food just looks so good to me blended and all. lol

I was really excited to read what you guys have been writing about not losing weight while on the MC. Ursa have you ever heard of someone ever gaining weight while on the MC diet? I've gained Two pounds since I started. I've decided to start having my lemonade with one tablespoon of the MS instead of two.

Increasing the amount of maple syrup and drinking more lemonade will make you gain weight or stop weight loss. I once increased the maple syrup by about 1/4 for a week during one of my long cleanses and I didn't lose any weight that week.

I am now finishing Day 20. The lemonade was really good today so I am going to continue the cleanse to Day 25 and re-assess. I have a good feeling I will probably end up going to 40.

I found some recipes for cauliflower pizza crust and bread sticks. I am so excited to try them.

    Default Day 8

Good morning, Lemonheads! I ended up having a rough afternoon and evening. I felt so emotional and wanted to eat. I'm actually amazed that I did not have soup last night but I didn't. I wanted it and then I wanted all kinds of fatty foods and gluten-containng foods (I have celiac disease). I may even still want the fatty stuff today but I think I'm a bit more at peace with it. I just drank my saltwater, maybe the remaining cravings will go away once the sw does it's thing. I've been a bit headachy since yesterday too, mild but there and annoying. I'm hoping today, day 8, is easier than yesterday. I'm really looking forward to Tuesday!

Shakey, I'm sorry you were feeling so down and I hope today feels better. I do think this is a part of cleansing. We are whole and what one part of us is experiencing, the rest of us will experience with it. At least that's what I believe.

DRBREW, I'm glad the extraction went so well and hope you continue to have such an easy time of it. Congratulations on your strength.

Jen, I think right in the book it does say that some people who needed to gain weight actually did so on the cleanse. I'll have to page through it to check but it's out of my reach at the moment and I'm lazy. Also, if you were dehydrated before, and it sounded as if you were, your body might just finally be hydrating which would show on the scales so I wouldn't worry about it being real weight gain warranting a need to cut back on syrup.

Dr Bunsen, congratulations on finishing 20 days and wow to you for deciding to continue. I've never heard of cauliflower pizza crust. Is it gluten free?

    Hi Everyone!

Shakey - I'm sorry to hear you were feeling down. I definitely know what that feels like, and hope that you start to feel better soon. I agree with Ursa--perhaps your body was detoxing some old, painful emotions & memories along with the toxins.

Ursa - Thanks for your response. That's definitely interesting! Sorry to hear last night was hard. Those cravings can be so intense! But, at least you're almost done now!

Jen - Were you underweight to begin with? After Ursa mentioned it, I do recall reading the same thing. One other thought occurred to me b/c I had a friend experience this: Do you feel that you always get the "desired effect" from the SWF? My friend was only going to the bathroom a little bit, and he wondered if perhaps he was retaining some of the salt. If you think this could be the case, you could try a slight increase in salt to make sure it all goes through you.

MCchickadee - Hope all is well. Let us know what you decided about the job, breaking the cleanse, etc. when you get the chance.

I'm moving soon, so probably won't be online much for a while. However, I'm still doing worlds better ever since I got the juice & fruit! Good luck to everyone & best wishes!

    Good Afternoon Everyone,

Shakey, I am so sorry you are feeling down. I hope you woke up feeling better today.

Wow Dr.Brew, Day 14 (well 15 today)! That's awesome. And I'm happy to hear your tooth extraction went so well.

Dr Bunsen, I can't even imagine going to Day 20. Good for you! I hope you reach the time your body needs. I would love it if you could share the recipe or give me a link to it. Sounds delicious. thank you so much for your advice. I think I will just reduce the maple syrup by one tablespoon per glass.

Ursa, I'm so sorry you had a bad day yesterday. Hoping your still hanging on. I'm rooting for you! Remember it's just a detox symptom and hopefully it all passed with your SWF today, if not it will most likely pass with tomorrow's SWF. About the weight gain, No, I do not need to gain weight. lol I need to lose weight. I am doing the MC for health reasons though and was planning to go on a 90 to 80 % Raw Food diet as a life style change (well actually started this before the MC). Hoping between the two my health will improve. I've also joined the gym to help boost energy and strength. I actually started noticing a huge difference in my health with only the 90/80 % Raw Food and gym. I'm hoping releasing and eliminating toxins will bring me to 100% health. Can't wait to go see my doctor next month.

Thank you EmilyNicole. Good luck on your move. Are you moving far from where you are now? No, I am not under weight. I've actually been under weight all my life until my third baby. Then my health started failing and with my fourth and fifth babies I ended with diabetes, high blood pressure, and other ailments. My baby is a year old now and my diabetes is gone, but still need to watch what I eat. I am not over weight. Actually per my doctor I am at my ideal weight. I still wouldn't mind losing 10 lbs.

    Default Day 8

I'm still in it and happy that day 8 has been easier than yesterday. Once my saltwater was through I felt much better and haven't had a headache since. I'm still looking forward to veggie soup on Tuesday, don't get me wrong. lol I had a busy day today and I feel pretty good. I went to the grocery store after I finished my other errands to get food for the people in my home that are eating and didn't mind being around everything. I am sure I could not have done that yesterday.

EmilyNicole, good luck with the move and I'm so glad you are feeling well.

Jen, thank you. I'm sorry to hear of your health troubles and I hope this cleanse helps you get over some hurdles to better health.
