I didn't expect to be the first post. I cleansed for six days then stopped on purpose due to all sorts of events that came in a row. I led a workshop for the whole weekend, two days later was my bday, the next day my grandpa died and I got to be there with him, Thanksgiving the next day, family breakfast yesterday... so I am starting again today with 7 days ahead clear but the funeral will be Saturday with lots of family and food again and I am going to go back and read how so many of you got through the holidays while still cleansing.

The longest cleanse I have ever done was 14 days which was awesome. I did it in Jan/Feb when there were not all these events. I will go back and read the posts around Thanksgiving, but if anyone would like to add anything about how you were able to stay cleansing, I think that would really help me. There is always something...and on the one hand it feels like a cop out to me when I stop cleansing so I want to get past that and do what is in my own best interests!

I'm sad about losing my grandpa. I'm grateful for the time I had with him and also, extremely grateful that I got to be with him in his final moments. I've never experienced that before and it was very helpful to me as it felt he left with an increased sense of peace and wellbeing.

    So, I'm back.

CONGRATULATIONS BENNI!!! I am in awe of you!!

Hi Faith, sorry to hear about your Grandfather. It's very, very hard. I really understand. I have never done a holiday on the cleanse but am going to start it tomorrow and see if I can get through my anniversary weekend which is coming up. I guess part of me wonders why an anniversary has to be about food so we'll see. I'm going for a very minimum of 10 days. It could be 15-17. I have to visit family for Christmas and they would entirely freak out of I continued this cleanse around them so I think I'll save them and me the hassle! Tomorrow is day 1. My least favorite part is the SWF but I've learned all the tricks so it's not really all that bad in the end (so to speak).

Cool Re: 2011: What Day Are You On and How Are You Doing?

Hi Faith; Welcome back. So sorry to hear about your Grandpa, I know how much you were looking forward to the visit, but I am glad to know you were there. That should be a great comfort to you.
Thanksgiving was easy for me, because I visited early before the Meal was served. Would you consider, if you don't think you can avoid eating at the Funeral, starting afterwards ? Just eat lots of Fruits and Veggies this week to get a head start on the weight loss.

    Good Luck Johnny.

Day-1 of my ease-out is going well. I thought once the Cleanse was over I would be tempted to eat, just the opposite. I am being a good girl.
I guess I should be posting on "Weight Loss After The Cleanse form now on.

This is Day 5 for me, I guess. I slipped up on Day 1 and on Thanksgiving, but only ate like three spoonfuls of mashed potatoes on Thanksgiving and a handful of chips on Day 1, so not even full meals. I am still hungry, my tongue is white, my breath smells, I smell....and I cannot stop thinking about food! I have been perusing websites, planning gluten-free, sugar-free meals with fresh veggies and day dreaming about going grocery shopping to fill my now somewhat barren refrigerator.

I'm also worried about stopping my cleanse in the middle of the week with so much work going on and I have heard that once you start to eat meals, you still have to go to the bathroom a lot. This cleanse seems to be helping, but I can't really tell. I eat super healthy so not sure I was super toxic to begin with. Not much seems to be coming out of me...keep thinking of stopping on day 8 or so....

Glad to find this support forum!

Hi heartstream, every day is different when you do this cleanse. I didn't notice much on one of my cleanses and then things changed toward the end. You never know. I think it's worth the sense of accomplishment to go the full 10 days. It's a good feeling. The food will be there when you're done. That's one thing we all know for sure

hey all e-lemonators! its my sixth day on the cleanse today and i have a few questions! please answer:
    1) i know im expecting my period sometime about now... is that why i havent lost any weright yet?
    2) im on sugarcane juice instead of maple for the first time (my last cleanse was maple) ... could someone tell me if they had a successful cleanse on sugarcane juice?
    3) i had a cup of green tea the other afternoon when i was at the parlour, is that a complete no-no?

also whats th amount of water i should drink on the cleanse and does it help me loose the weight faster....?
im treating myself to massages daily and hoping the fat melts soon!

    Best of luck everyone!

It's very possible that you're retaining water because of your period. I know that I usually retain water around my period no matter how much water I drink. See how it goes after your period starts.
I've seen blackstrap molasses used and agave nectar but never sugarcane. The only options you're given according to the rules are the molasses (if you're diabetic) or the maple syrup. You have a lot of your vitamins and minerals in the maple syrup and it burns slower in the body hence helping your energy levels stay high.
Ideally you should be getting 60 more ounces of water on top of the 6-12 glasses of juice. I've certainly had more water than that during the cleanse. Yes, I do believe it helps the body eliminate fats faster. It's also a nice change from just drinking the lemonade/limeade. I don't know much about cane sugar so I always just follow the maple syrup when I do the cleanse.

However, never go beyond the half your weight in ounces for the daily fluid intake. Nix the green tea.
