    Lindsayd,

    This forum is a great way to find support! Sounds like this could be a good opportunity to find your strength and something to look back on as an example of the things you can accomplish when you put your mind to it!

    I would think that eliminating the MS would make it harder to function as I think the only thing that saves me is the sugar content of it, think I'd really be dragging without that, but every body is different. On my first day when I could hardly get anything down and could keep almost none of it down I decided to stick with it for 10 days no matter what. To add nothing and to do as much of what I was supposed to as possible. I don't know that Peter would agree with that, but that seemed reasonable to me. I was determined to do a little more each day and I was happily surprised to find that I quickly worked up to doing everything (except the SWF) Personally I think as long as you're not adding anything it's ok to cut yourself a little slack and give it a few days, but that's just my opinion because that's how I deal with myself and it works for me.

    I have to add that I'm at work and all the customers smell like food, I'm choosing to dance for the ones that smell like the things I'm hungry for! Lol

    thank you!! We should definitely support one another. I hate getting away from following things to the letter...but honestly this syrup is still making me sick. I will try adding some tomorrow.

    I am totally getting off track *wince* but I wonder if you can't substitute grapes or some sugary fruit for the MS. The lemon juice is good but the way my stomach feels now, I'm not sure if I can make it with the MS. I'm totally psyching myself out!

    I weigh 161.8 right now and want to get down to 140-145, but am feeling a little like either I'm not going to get there or I'm going to accidentally starve myself

    Welcome to Mia and Lindsay!

    Lindsay - as far as the maple syrup - you definitely need the MS. It is a source of energy as well as other nutrients. That being said - there are some substitutes for it such as agave or sugar cane juice? Also molasses for diabetics. The agave is pretty easy to access maybe try that. Also – try limes rather then lemon or maybe mix the two? The cayenne is to be added to taste – so start low or maybe not at all then work up? It is for sure an acquired taste. The lemon and syrup are key though since they are provide the nutrition you need to function daily. I can see that you are serious about loosing the weight - but it will take a bit of time of course. For some, it comes off quickly, but for others it can be a longer process. You are right that you do not want to starve yourself! Weight that you take off that way is likely to come right back on... and you do not want to mess up your metabolism and end up gaining more. Generally speaking, I lose about 8 pounds in a 10 day fast. This last time I started at 157 and got down to 150. It will stay off after the fast IF I maintain good habits with nutritious foods and correct portion sizes. (as soon as I fall off the good food wagon and start back on junk food and sweets it comes right back on....)

    Mia – if you are having trouble with the SWF… try what I do – it isn’t the exact by instruction, but the result has been the same for me: add both teaspoons of salt to the first 2 cups of water and then immediately chug the second two cups of water. Water should be warm but not so hot you can’t drink it super fast. Somehow the saltier water is actually easier for me? And since I only drink two cups of salty it is easier to get down. And the plain water tastes so sweet after all that salt! In order for this to work though, you really have to down it quickly so that it does not “separate” in the body. If it is all in the stomach together it can mix before it goes through properly. Make sense? The straw is also a huge plus. Meanwhile, keep up the tea – you can certainly substitute it in the morning as well as the evening cup. I’m not saying that the SWF didn’t make me nauseous – but I generally had my peppermint teat after I was done with eliminating in the morning. It helps to settle me before I start the lemonade mid morning. It may not need saying – but after I down the 32 oz of salt water I do not drink anything else for at least on hour and a half… otherwise things tend to keep running right through me and I would never make it into the car to go to work!

    hi there everyone.... its night time hhere and day four on my second MC is closing. today was stargely very tough and i was very whiney about being hungry for most of the day. treated myself to a pedicure and a body massage and scrub treatment in the afternoon. hoping to have some mint tranquility tea and doze off for a while now.
    my MC is on day 4 and i have followed it by the book but im fluctuating between 69 and 68 kilos... have not lost anymore is there any hope for me....
    also i had a cup of green tea... is that going to be harmful for my cleanse?

    please tell me what you guys think.....
    i am getting married on the 20th of dec and i want to loose as miuch weight as possible and clear out my skin and generally detox myseelf into wedded bliss.... you think i can make it till the 17th or 18th on the cleanse and see any dramatic difference? so far its been four days and no weight loss worried !

    Day 30/30. Weight 141.5 lbs.

    Well, I made it to the end of my first Cleanse, and I've never felt better ! Lost 18.5 lbs so far, and 1.5 lbs from my goal. I have had a problem-free Cleanse, and with the help of this Forum, and the helpful people posting here, I was able to accomplish not eating for 30 days. I honestly did not think I could do this for even 10 days.
    Looking forward to Orange Juice tomorrow, I hope the ones I got are sweet enough.

    Free-From-Fat; Congratulations on your upcoming Wedding. I have lost almost 20 lbs on my 30 day Cleanse, however it probably could have been more because I really have not done much in the way of exercise. I spend the majority of my day on the Computer.
    Don't stress, you are stressful enough planning a Wedding and when Cortisol (the stress hormone) kicks in, it will hinder weight loss despite your best efforts. If you are doing the Cleanse correctly, just allow your body to do the rest. It has it's own agenda. Sometimes you will be at the same weight for a few days, then it will start coming off again. I was stuck for 5 days, sometimes I will lose a few ounces, other times 1.5 lbs. Don't give yourself deadlines to lose a certain number of lbs on this Cleanse.

    Good Morning everyone!
    This is my first cleanse, I am on day 15 and am a happy 17lbs down.
    I have been sort of lurking around this forum and its a great place for information.

    I noticed a week or so ago, a few of the people here were talking about probiotics.
    At what point would one start taking those and for how long and, while I know they are good for your gut, why take them at all?

    To the woman getting married-my weight fluctuates 2lbs on ANY given day and sometimes goes up for two or three days in a row before plummeting back down. Stick with it! And don't forget to drink lots of water

    This cleanse is pretty amazing. I am rediscovering some inner strength that I really thought was no longer there. It is very empowering to take such control of your body and have it respond so beautifully. A reality check I badly needed.

    Hi all,

    i am starting my second cleanse today. I took the laxative tea last night and did the SWF this morning.
    I am not as prepared this time as last.. last time I eased into it for 3 days then started the cleanse and ideally i would have liked to do that this time but.. With thanksgiving, I was not able to eas into it (Props for those of you who have been doing the cleanse through thanksgiving!!).. but i wanted to make sure I at least had enough time to ease out 3 days as I have some obligations where I will need to at least be able to eat a little.

    I also started my period today so its going to be interesting.

    This forum helped a lot for my first cleanse.. good luck to those of you who are in the midst of it.
    I'll catch up on the last few pages..

    Ugh, I'm sorry, but I don't have the energy to respond to the other posts right now, but I will later. Lindsay, I hope you're doing better today, Benni, congrats on completing your cleanse, hope that OJ is fantastic! I feel like crap today! I know its just a detox day and will pass, but I feel awful. Sorry, I just needed to whine for a minute. I hope everyone else if having a great day and if not, it will get better.

    Wandering Mia - you know it's a bad detox day and you'll feel better tomorrow when you eliminate! Day 2 for me and feeling great for some reason. I feel better when I keep myself busy!
