    So i just realized that I made the drink incorrecly.. I put two tablespoons rather than two teaspoons in.. No wonder it tasted SOOO bad... But, shouldnt that have definalty made me 'go'?

    Try drinking more water maybe?

    It's Day 31 for me and I've switched to limes, mostly because they were 1/3 the price of the lemons and appeared to be similar in size. The biggest difference I've noticed is that the limes are harder to squeeze and you get the same amount juice out of eight limes as you get from three lemons. There seems to be only a very slight difference in taste, but I can't really explain what that is except to say that I think the limes taste slightly better. Then again, after consuming only lemons for 30 days, I'm sure any other fruit would taste slightly better at this point.

    I am feeling pretty good today actually. The gym that I want to join is having a limited special from tomorrow until the 15th so I might actually start exercising on Day 32.

    good luck Sunny and whatever u do don't give up. ur first MC is always the worst cause u don't know what to expect. for the 3 days u may be still hungry and a little cold but after that it all changes. later u may think about ur favorite foods but u'll notice ur really not hungry, it;s just cravings. we r all here for u and in the same boat so ur not alone. just think how many other people r doing this with u and r not giving up. good luck with ur hemorrhoids problem, hopefully it will get batter after the cleanse.

    yes definitely carry on. all my other MC were fine, i didn't try anything, even though it looked tempting. but for some reason in this one i was more hungry that in the previous ones. one day i ate 2 grapes, on saturday night i had little something at night. yes some people say that it's bad but we all make mistakes and of course, like any other living thing we do get hungry. once u give up u may not want to do another MC. so keep going and try to forger about that spinach salad, remind urself that u'll be able to eat it in few days

    i also can not do the SWF. it comes right out. i think it's the nastiest thing i have ever triedi do the lexative tea in the morning and at night, in the book it does say that instead of SWF u can do the tea. however the tea does not work for me, so after getting upset, after 9 days i did use some other lexatives, non of them was orally. i had to do that since i haven't use the bathroom once.

    well it's my last day. in 17 days i lost only 10lbsi made some mistakes that in other MC i was able to avoid. in this MC i had more energy and strenght thanks to the liquid vitamins, unfortunetely they do not control the cravings. i will do another MC on the beginning of January, for only 10 days. i know u should wait longer, however i have to look better for my daughter's christening in the mean time i will try the "3 day diet" hopefully with it i'll be able to keep the weight off. good luck everyone, ur doing great. thanks for the support and all the suggestions.

    Im buying the laxitive tea tonight and will see how that goes.. Im trying again with the salt water.. I made it incorrectly, plus im going to try to warm it up a bit more...

    hey everyone! it is sooo good to be back! in 2008 i tried my first mastercleanse... my bf was super supportive through it and im sure he appreciated the results... we are now getting married in december and i wanna take the next month to get into shape and fit into my outfits as best i can! so heres to that! im so happy to be here... this bulletin board was a super support system then and im sure it will tide me through days of SWF and lemon juices! i am in india now and i just spent the past hour or so researching sugarcane juice as a substitute cos i only have one measly bottle of maple grade b from trader joes in the cupboard. any thoughts on sugarcane juice anyone????
    anyway ! off to drink lax tea! hey all and best of luck!!!!

    If it came right out, what color was it? As long as it was not clear (nor nearly clear) then you were getting SOMETHING out! The darker the butt pee, the more toxins removed, even if you never got any solids or "sludge" out. I would also recommend looking into Ayurveda. This is a 5000-6000 year old form of Holistic medicine from India. Basically it analyzes your body type and tells you what type of foods you should eat and what you should avoid for your optimal health. It takes years to learn it, just like an M.D. degree in Western medicine, but you can get books on it and take the questionnaires yourself to find out what body type you are and what foods you should avoid to prevent constipation.

    Purists will say, start again at Day 1. My opinion is that you only cheated one day, so keep going and count today as your new Day 3. Think of it this way - your body detoxes every day, anyway, even when not on the cleanse. You just detox a LOT more, AND more efficiently when on the cleanse. By eating that little bit of salad, you took your cleansing efficiency down from 100% to maybe about 80% for that day. You still got some cleansing done. The way I see it, the biggest damage is MENTAL. There's a certain mind-set you get into on the cleanse, that cheating can completely up-end. If you can get yourself in a strict cleansing mind-set again, you'll be right back on track. Good luck! We're here for you - even the longest, most experienced cleansers have fallen off the wagon every once in a while.

    Neither Burroughs' nor Glickman's book give a concrete time period as the minimum allowance between cleanses. Here is the formula I use:
    Burroughs' recommends cleansing once per season. 365 divided by 4 seasons = 91 days per season.
    Burroughs' says you can go "40 days and beyond" (p. 16). That means that 91 - 40 = 51 days. Since he said "and beyond, it would be ok to say 91 - 41 = 50 days between cleanses. So 50 days between cleanses would be acceptable to Burroughs.

    If you wanted to start Jan 1, then that would put you at Nov. 10 (today) to end your previous cleanse. However, I have done cleanses about 2 & 1/2 weeks apart (17 days) with no ill effects. I have found that cleanses are not as effective when done that close together. It is also harder to get motivated and stay motivated. I think going a few more days would still be "officially" acceptable to Burroughs' because of his "and beyond" clause. Personally, I am going until about 3 days before Thanksgiving, and intending to start again in January (maybe Jan. 2 or 3).

    Well, there's a few problems with this. First, the SWF is part II of a two part process. You're supposed to have the tea working on loosening crud from your intestines all night, and then the SWF "rinses" the loose toxins out in the morning. So if you do the SWF at night, you won't get the full benefit of the cleanse. I would recommend steeping the senna tea for a long time at night, so that you have strong eliminations in the morning. Then, on your days off, be sure to do the SWF in the morning. The "official" word is that if you can't do the SWF in the morning, to do the tea a second time in the am. But I have heard people say that the tea makes them run to the bathroom all day, whereas with the SWF, you get the whole thing over in an hour to an hour & a half.
    How about trying this: on your weekend, when you do the SWF, notice how much time it takes to do from beginning to end. Note how much time passes between when you finished drinking it until you had your first rush to the bathroom. Then next week at work, plan out your coffee break as a long bathroom break. Let's say it took 40 minutes from the time you finished drinking until your first elimination. Then take a hot SWF to work in a thermos and drink it 40 minutes before your coffee break. You might end up having to run to the bathroom 1 or 2 more times after your break is officially over, but it still could be workable.

    I have read on this board that some people set their alarms extra early (5:30am?), drink the SWF, then go back to bed. The urge to go wakes them up at the same time they would ordinarily wake up, and they just eliminate often while getting dressed for work.

    So: for today - no recommendation, you've already done whatever you've done. If you work a M - F schedule, then for Thurs. & Fri. try steeping the tea for 10 minutes or more the night before, and then taking the tea a second time in the morning. For Sat. & Sun., do the SWF in the am, and write down how long it takes for the eliminations to start and end. Then on Mon., try one of the methods above, on Tues. try the other one, and see if those work for you. By then you should be on day 8, and regardless of what works or doesn't work, you'll only have 2 more days to go. Of course, if you find a solution that works well, you just may want to keep going....

    The reason you didn't eliminate at all is : 1) not enough volume, you need the full quart. 2) incorrect ratio of salt to water. The correct ratio tricks your stomach into believing the SWF is BLOOD - that's why it passes through you without being digested. The wrong ratio will get digested: i.e., separated into salt and water; then the water will come out as urine and the salt will stay in you can retain more water.

    Your choices in lemons/limes may vary depending on your location. In Calif., my limes are about 1/2 the size of my lemons, but I get almost as much juice from them. I get approx. 3 T from a lime, and only about 4 T from a lemon. BUT, there's a trick to it: choose the limes with the thinnest skin. Lemons and limes with thick rind have less juice. At my store, it's easier to find thin skinned limes, but most of my available lemons are thick skinned. This is one of the few things I miss about living in So. Calif. - having organic lemon trees in your own (or friends/neighbors) backyards.
