before the cleanse i did have problems with bowel movements. since i was little i never used the bathroom as much as others, i think it's because i have a slow metabolismthere would be a week and i never went. sometimes i have better weeks where i go more often. but i thoufgt doing the tea would help that problem, obviously not that much. hopefully when i do my next MC it will be better. i want to do one in january, just 10 days, before my daughters baptism. maybe i'll try to take more lexatives so my stomach will work better
    good luck

last time i did the cleanse the tea, which i did morning and at night, worked much better. i actually took some trips to the bathroomwhat i'm thinking is that i'm so constipated, that the tea and SWF is not enough and i should take some lexatives. ...that's one of the reasons i don't think i could go past 20 days.
it's day 14 for me and i lost only 10 lbs. last time in 10 days i lost about 13lbs, and i was much thinner so i would think that this time around i would loose much more. i really think that people who r in the bathroom often loose the most weight. enjoy ur sunday everyone, even though it's pretty hard since u can't go anywhere where's there food
Your history of BM problems explains a lot. Obviously, we cannot give out medical advice on this site, so you have to take this as one "lay person" talking to another about their experiences. I'll start it off with a story. When I was little my mother noticed that every time I ate peanuts, I became constipated and had painful bowel movements. So she never fed me peanuts. As I got older I LOVED peanut butter and would eat it straight out of the jar with a spoon, shovel it onto PBJ sandwiches an inch thick. What I have learned as an adult is that we have food allergies that affect us with unusual symptoms: things like depression, constipation, insomnia. Most MDs don't recognize these as allergies - only things like rashes, hives, swollen eyes or tongue, are considered "real" allergy symptoms. Some doctors make a concession and call other types of allergic reaction to food as "sensitivities." Whatever name you give them, they are real. Since very few doctors believe they exist, very few doctors test for them. BUT - you can test yourself.

What you do is go on a "pure" food diet for a week, then each day afterwards introduce ONE and only one of your suspected food allergens into your diet. I did this for my son when he was about 6 and found out that he was allergic to wheat and corn. The day I gave him wheat, he wet his pants, which he hadn't done since he was 3. So, I KNOW that specific foods you're allergic to can affect your eliminations. Foods we are allergic to are like drugs to us: we love them and we hate them. If we love them in one form, but hate them in another - that is a major indication that you are allergic to them. Ex. people who hate tomatoes, but love ketchup and spaghetti sauce, or people who hate peas, but love split pea soup. My guess is that you have a very strong allergy to something...possibly something in the master cleanse (lemons, maple syrup, cayenne, something in the laxative tea). You might be able to go back on the cleanse if you just switch to agave and limes.
I recommend that you go off the MC and get your BMs regular and in control before going on the MC again.
There are a few books you can read about food allergies: anything by Dr. Doris Rapp. She has a website, too. Dr. William Crook has some books, especially about Yeast allergies. Mark Lovendale has a book on it - but I think Doris Rapp's stuff is the easiest to understand and she offers suggested menus for the one week pure diet and instructions on how to test yourself. Also, there's "the 7 day miracle" by Bennett and Barrie - which doesn't talk about allergens, but gives a detailed "pure" diet as a 7 day cleanse.

Another possible concern is...have you recently given birth? You said your daughter's christening was in a few months? Is your daughter an infant? That could make a big difference in how you approach the cleanse.

Cool Re: 2010: What day are you on and how are you doing?

Connie; Thank You for the words of encouragement.

DocBunsen; Good to see you. Congratulations on your 28th Day.

Patunia; You may be surprised as to how much weight you've actually lost. After you get all the poop out, you may notice 2-3 lbs difference. I still believe you may be impacted. I have seen it with many patients, and it had to be manually removed .

So as I continue Day 10, I had 6 bathroom visits within 1/2 hour. Light cramping and weakness. My stomach must have shrunk, because I cannot drink a whole bottle of water in one sitting, without experiencing some discomfort. Total loss of appetite. I find myself having that last bit of Lemonade way past it's usual time. Only 75 ounces of water today.

    Good Night All

Hey everyone, i'm on day 1 of my second cleanse. Feeling really horrid today as I over indulged yesterday because I knew i was starting a cleanse today. Feeling really sluggish and tired and hoping the first couple of days will pass quickly. This time I'm aiming for 21 days. Hope I can do it.

Lol, anything but removing it manuallyi can't even imagine how exactly they r doing this. i think i'll try any lexative possible before trying to this alternative. hopefully, it will get better. so we loose more weight after we poop. do u think that's the reason many of us gain a lot of weight back cause we're not in the bathroom as much? it would make perfect sense. hope u can drink more of the lemonade. like i mentioned before i'm having the same problem, the taste it' getting boring. good luck

Thanx for the advise. after i think about it, i eat so much sweets, that always have been my weakness, that i get so constipated. i heard that sweets can do that. since childhood i ate soooo much of it i basically lived on that. and maybe that is why i always have problems going to the bathroom. when i got older and heard that many people use the bathroom on the daily basis or even few times a day i was shocked. sometimes i wouldn't go for week and never thought it was abnormal. i will definitely take that to the consideration, thanx again. i maybe so constipated that my body is having very hard time to get rid of that

Day 10 . When I started the MC,I wondered if I will get pass Day 1. Now I am finally at Day 10, I can't believe how easy it has been. None of the bad effects that I hear about. Maybe mine will come in the next 10 days .

DoctorBunsen have not been on the Boards much lately. Hope all is well.

    Have a good day Cleansing.

This cleanse has been easy for me too. Maybe it's because we've done it before and know we will survive without eating. My joints ached yesterday but not as bad as the first time I did it. Today is day 8 for me and I'm having limeade today. Happy work week! Margie

It's Day 29 for me and I am currently procrastinating on the SWF. I have to force myself every time.

I usually just make a big jug in the morning and then drink that all day. I know you are supposed to juice the damn lemons every time you have a glass, but I barely have time to drink all the lemonade let alone go through all that hassle every time I have a glass.

I agree with you, I'm wondering if we can store it over night or even freeze it.
