So, I know I have to drink the tea for sure tonight and start doing this cleanse the right way.

Going to work today, was very hard... as I'm prepping pepperjack cheese I could practically smell it from a couple feet away. My boyfriend is really against me doing the cleanse and wants me to stop. He thinks its unhealthy and that I'm going to get sick and pass out. He keeps bugging me to stop. And I keep saying no... I've never had such a strong sense of will before. Yesterday he ate a sandwich in front of me, and asked me if I wanted one. I proudly said no. Today, was a bit harder.. he had a bagel and cream cheese, and because I haven't been drinking as much lemonade as I should be drinking and was starving... I just kept watching him eat that bagel. He even asked me if I wanted a bite, he's trying to get me to turn around.. but i refuse!! I refuse. I'm going to stick this through.

    Sleeping is amazing.
Good for you, friend! It's funny how important it is to do everything right in order to get by and not droop. I feel such a difference when I am flushing appropriately and drinking enough lemonade, more than I would have thought. I don't know how anyone can do a water cleanse, on purpose or by accident; I would totally pass out. You're a strong woman. Glad to hear you're planning on getting "back on track".

With the boyfriend thing- I totally feel you. This is the 3rd cleanse my fiance has witnessed and he's stopped trying to argue with me about it. Like so many others, he is so convinced that we need all that protein, fat, etc to survive and thrive, not understanding that a temporary break from all that is actually GOOD for us! I can't describe to him that despite the fatigue and other detox symptoms, I feel good and proud of myself. I think it's something you have to experience for yourself.

Anyways, rambling along, hope your cleanse starts going better! Looking forward to seeing your progress here!

My progress as I embark on Day 5: Down about 6 lbs, feelin better today than yesterday. Might try to go for a run, and maybe lay by the pool for some Vitamin D later on. And i agree, sleep is fantastic. I don't understand why I deprive myself sometimes, staying up late doing NOTHING.

    Have a great day!

    Hi Mayhem!

I do not have a "real" (based on knowledge or experience) answer to your question, unfortunately- although I think it was Dollfacegreene who said that she did several cleanses back to back, before just going to quarterly. Whomever it was, their experience was that it didn't seem to have the same great results when doing it so often. My only personal advice would be to be conscious of your body and how you're feeling. I would be surprised if it would be harmful for you to do that.

My question for you: on your fruit and veggie cleanse: what exactly did that look like? Just raw fruits and veggies for every meal? Did you do any dehydrating or light cooking? Just curious as I'm thinking more and more about raw...thanks!

Good luck with whatever you decide to do!

Day 10 - This will be my husband's last day as he has to go on a plane tomorrow to Mass. to visit his sick dad. He said he weighs less now than he has for awhile. (Usually 200 and now 180). He did get on the cleanse. I am going longer.

Lahontani -- Thanks for your feedback to the question about checking out the cleanse in your stools. Is there somewhere I can post that question or get it to Peter Glickman so it can get answered by someone who might know more details on it?
You had mentioned to someone to take broth and soup on the 2nd day, but I had read to have OJ on day 1 and then more OJ and salad on day 2 and then broth and veggies on day 3. Isn't that right?

As far as the tea, we were using Peppermint at night before bed, but then switched to Senna. I get wicked cramps through the night with it and it wakes me up at 5am and I go to the toilet, so I am not using it anymore and will go back to peppermint instead. Peppermint tea worked fine as after the SWF I would always go to the toilet with no problem.

I will check out the Zumba in the library as I know I need to get more exercising in and not just stretching. I also have other videos I can be using for more aerobic exercise.

Joy1969 - Thanks for your prayers for my husband's dad's passing on.

Today was a busy one so I am only now making my second bottle of lemon drink at 6:30pm. I was feeling a bit hungrier today, but I think that was because I saw more food.

We're all in this together so let's win by sticking to our commitments and finishing what we have started. Hooray!!!

    Honey

I need to address your use of the tea. This is extremely credit. The peppermint tea is ONLY to be taken occasionally. It is not to be used at any point in lieu of the detox and elimination process as it does not assist with either of those in any way. You must do the lax tea at night and then eliminate. Then you must do the swf in the morning to eliminate again. As you can see your eliminations are different with the lax tea vs the swf. The lax tea stirs up the toxins. The swf is the rinse cycle. The peppermint tea doesn't do either of these. The lax tea can't be eliminated in lieu of it. If you are cramping try steeping it for less time or switching brand. I use smooth move lax tea and I steep it for 30 minutes and never get cramps. If you read the book which you really need it will explain the requirement for both of these elimination processes and why. I really want to make sure you are doing it correctly or you could get sick from stirring up toxins with the lemonade all day but not properly eliminating at night.

You and your husband are doing great, hopefully you will hang out with us for awhile

Make sure you are getting in plenty of water also, that will help your body to eliminate toxins as well. Hang in there and only weigh yourself once or twice a week. If you are not exercising, you may want to consider adding it to your game plan. If you are weight training, it is possible for your weight to stay the same at times, however your body will be reshaping. In other words, you will be condensing muscle tissue and losing body fat.

I have kept up the exercise and do weighttrain. Toinght I did kick boxing. My energy is not as before but I'm not fainting. I don't do the daily weigh in as more times than not the scale ruins my day. I go by my clothes and how I look naked. It's getting better. Thank you for helpful words! Happpy cleansing!

    Default End of day 15

Today was one of my better days on MC. I did not obsess over food and the lunchtime smells were not torture although someone had a hotdog which smelled pretty good. Kickboxed after work and did some lifting and feel great although I need a bath to soak away toxins. I read we should be eliminating morning and night...I don't. Only in the morning. I drink the tea at night, dieters tea. Is this a problem? At lot of my aches and pains and popping and cracking have practically stopped. I think this cleanse is really good for everything.

Please see my post above yours to honey. Yes, you must eliminate every night and morning. No dieters tea allowed, lax tea at night to eliminate. Do you have the book? It specifies all of this.

You are most welcome. And thank you right back for your encouragement! I was the one who talked about cleansing close together...also addressed, below.

I wrote down my experiences on either August 30 or Aug. 31 - so just go back to those pages and look for the posts with my "lemon sundae" pic on it.

Good for you, staying so strong! It's really hard to keep going with people trying to discourage you and actively tempt you by eating right in front of you. Be really proud of yourself, you deserve it! In a few days the benefits of the cleanse will start to be obvious to everyone around you...let's hope your b/f is someone who can admit when he was wrong.

Peter does not answer questions directly. In 3 1/2 years I have never seen him on this board other than to start a new thread. I was told he does go through the board for info, statistics, etc. Your best bet to find the answer would be to go to an academic library (college or medical library) and search databases for research done with the key words "Master Cleanse." I would not be surprised if there is nothing, because, as I said, it would be hard to get funding for anything that would not directly benefit some drug company.
You are mistaken about the transition from the cleanse to "real" food - quoting from Burroughs, page 26: " Second Day: Drink several 8 oz. glasses of orange juice during the day - with extra water, if needed. Some time during the afternoon prepare a vegetable soup (no canned soup)...Have this soup for the evening meal using the broth mostly, although some of the vegetables may be eaten...Third Day: Drink orange juice in the morning. At noon have some more soup...For the evening meal eat whatever is desired in the form of vegetables, salads, or fruit. No meat, fish, or eggs; no bread, pastries, tea, coffee, or milk." Burroughs does not say what to have for lunch the second day - so I have broth for lunch, and veggie soup for dinner. Salads are not until day 3.
It sounds like you don't have the book and got the cleanse info second hand. Otis already talked about the tea. I want to reinforce that: Peppermint tea is NOT a laxative tea. It is a DIGESTIVE aid. It will sooth an upset stomach (as Joy1969 said) and improve your breath (as Dollfacegreene said). It will NOT help you eliminate toxins. Drinking peppermint tea at night is just a waste of tea. To stop the cramping from the Senna tea, try what Otis and I recommended - steep the tea for only a very very short time. Drink weak tea, get weak cramps. Try it, you'll see. If you don't like the taste, there are several options - most people use the "Smooth Move" - that comes in regular and chocolate flavors. But any all natural laxative tea that is mostly senna will work. Straight senna will work, too, but tastes worse and gives worse cramps.

    ----

Day 3 is almost over! It is so odd, but my stomach looks bloated! Both yesterday and today my abdomen is larger than it was before I started the cleanse! I wonder what's up...way too soon for my period...no pain or tenderness at all...I'm hoping that this cleanse is breaking up all the long-stored fat in my abs and the fat is spreading out in preparation for being dispersed into my blood stream and eliminated completely. Wouldn't that be awesome!!!

No, I don't have the book. I had heard of the lemonade diet and decided to investigate. I thought it was a diet and had no idea it was a cleanse. Read journals and blogs about different experiences. Have MC pdf saved as a favorite but it's not the same as holding a book. I discovered this board at about 4 days in.

I don't see why I can't have my tea as it says "laxative". The main ingredient is senna; it is named dieter's tea. It tastes terrible, acts as a laxative... Not sure why I don't have to go at night? Guess I can try another tea.

Had zero PMS this month. Does anyone know how hormones react to the MC? Our glands must be benefiting from detoxification too.

Feeling great! End of day 15! Can't believe I'm almost at 20 days. Still want to do it, not sure when I'm going to quit.

Going to drink a second cup of tea. Good night

I finally had the energy to knock out a 6 mile run! It was tough and I should have done it earlier in the day (I was roasting) but all in all it was a good workout. I wanted to do some strength trainin\g, but I got home and realized that was just not going to happen.

I'm not finding that I'm emotionally detoxing like so many of you are. I'm hoping maybe that will come as I go a little deeper. I definitely hold on to stuff and with my wedding a month away, I would love to unload what I can. Start off fresh and not be mentally bogged down by past regrets and wrongs. We'll see...I'm just wrapping Day 5, so maybe after Day 7?

In the meantime, my store opens day after tomorrow! I'm so excited. I'm going to hit the sack super early the next few days so I have the energy to get up for SWF...what I shall now refer to as the P and P hour (thank you, Dollfacegreene).

Hope you all had a wonderful day! Can't wait to read about all the progress.
