Day 8 -- Yesterday we went to a friend's house for a BBQ. It all looked and smelled great, but I just felt like "well, I know what that tastes like, and I'm on a mission so I need to be single-minded", and that helped me. Of course people often think you are crazy for doing this cleanse, but I've been there and I know it works so here I am again.

My husband has to fly out Thursday to see his dying dad so he will stop the cleanse on Day 10, and try to get some fresh squeezed orange juice at the airport and drink lotsa water. I think that will be a bit tough. Too bad you can't bring bottled liquids on the planes anymore.

A neighbor gave us huge lemons from their tree and it only takes 2 lemons for the full day's cleanse.

We switched from Peppermint tea to Senna Laxative tea and it is a nice change.

My husband's question is: Since the point of the cleanse is to detoxify, and the principal method is through the "butt pee", I was wondering if there has ever been analysis of "butt pee" to determine what kinds and levels of toxins are being released from the body during a cleanse? I think this would be interesting and help people to see the level of efficiency of the MC's ability to cleanse the body. Can someone answer this question? Thanks!

Great reading all the posts and knowing you are all there for cheering us on.

Ok, so I am learning that it is Day 3 that is my big challenge! This is when I slid off the wagon last cleanse. The temptation is so strong to say, "I've done so well for 3 days, I'm sure I'm cleansed! Now I just need to eat healthfully." Mmhmm, sure.

I know I will feel disappointed if I give in again, so here I am confessing to all of you as a means of prevention. I'm really intent on finishing it, and I want to do a long one, (for me) which would be 21 days. I'm hoping to reap some great benefits from completing 3 full weeks, as I've seen from others' posts that each week brings another level of detox. My only other cleanse was 8 days; I had to cut it short due to a trip to the mainland. I do remember that it had gotten much easier and I definitely felt that I could have continued cleansing except that it would not be feasible for traveling.

Well, thanks for "listening" to me- great to see all of the posts from today. I think I'm hours behind everyone else (especially UKbabe!) so I love coming home at night and seeing them all when I'm at my weakest.

    Sweet dreams!

RE: seeking people who are also preparing for the fast in September Fall of 2010

    Hey Everyone!

I haven't logged on in a couple of years. I am preparing to start a cleanse in September for 10-14 days. I wondered if I had any victims who would like to join me for support??? (LOL). My first cleanse was a couple of years ago. I remembered the importance of support during the cleanse. So I extend and invite to anyone seeking to start the cleanse mid August.

My purpose to doing the cleanse is to cleanse and prepare for a dietary change. I have been horrible re: my diet this year. Thank you!

    Day 14 today,

Yesterday was so HARD! I was literally crying because I felt so hungry even though I had drank so much lemonade. Didnt expect to be feeling like this so late on,but I stuck with it. Nearly halfway to 30 days. YAY!!

I am a vegan and eat really well although not completely raw food. I have recently gained a few pounds and have been having a lot of sugar cravings. I also have chronic headaches and @2-3 migraines a month. So with all that I thought a cleanse might be in order. I read about freezing peppermint tea into popsicles. Is that really allowed? That would be awesome. Funny how now the simplest thing can be such a treat. I would even like to freeze the lemonade. Can we do that? Is Day 3 better or worse than Day 2? My goal is 10 days. Thanks again for your support!
Those are excellent reasons for doing the cleanse. I pray that you get all the results you are looking for in the end. The effort is so worth the end results. The peppermint popsicles are ok, but not too many, the same as if you were just drinking the tea. As far as freezing the lemonade, I won't because I wouldn't want to compromise the integrity of the properties of the lemonade. You would probably do better by measuring your water into ice cubes and crush. Then use that with your lemon juice and MS. I am going to try that also and see how it fairs. One thing I can guarantee is that day 11 (OJ) is going to feel better than day 2 or 3 or 4. You can do it. Hang in there. Let me know how the SW is going. God bless.

Good for you GlamourBabe. You stuck it out. There are days that I also get so emotional and cry on almost every cleanse. Those are frustrating for me, but like you did we stick it out. I am proud of you, those days are tough.

Hello Honeysuckle, I am on day 6 and going for 40 so I will be here with you. My reasons for doing the cleanse are for prayer for those on my prayer list, to refocus my thinking on food with the holidays coming up and I do 3 cleanses per year and this in number 3. I love how healthy, focused and strong I feel when I finish. So glad to have you join us. God bless you and welcome.

It is like walking around all day with a mirror in front of you, constantly. I walk away at the end feeling I know myself better now. Unfortunately, when we go back to the real world, there are factors that ALWAYS try to interfere with that enlightenment. The one thing I seem to be able to release within myself is overindulgence. Fasting has a way of knocking the desire to overindulge right out of your mindset. Thank you Margie, you have me thinking this morning. I am going to think more deeply on this today. Good distraction. How long are you going for? Have a great day today and talk to you soon.
Hi Dollface, This is my first cleanse and first experience on this board. Today is day 14 and i'm going to try to get through the week. My energy was really low yesterday. I can't believe I have not had anything in my mouth for 2 weeks! That is incredible but very hard. I have had some strange thoughts of the past and hope those are being cleansed too. Can't wait to start cooking again!. Have a great day!!

You truly sound like quiting is not an option for you. Hang in there. Day 3 is only the beginning. Those 10 days are going to go by so fast. Look how fast the last ten went by. I know you can do it , just keep telling yourself QUITTING IS NOT AN OPTION!!!! That is what I keep telling myself. Last night I had a challenge. A neighbor came by yesterday with a HUGE container of Chinese food, nice and hot and ready to eat. My husband smiled from ear to ear and I wanted to punch them both in the stomach. Then I remembered I have freezer bags and a freezer and if I really wanted it I can freeze it or just have some when I am finished. I was not too happy about not having any though. But we keep on going, because we are worth the effort. No one else can do this for us, we have to be committed to ourselves and what we know is best for US. Hang tough fellow lemonhead.

I was blue yesterday, not in tears but almost. I'm sorry you felt bad! I'm not sure how long I'm going to do this? I want to shrink a stubborn area-aroung my butt and stomach--before quitting. Going to get through this week and hopefully the weekend. It's a day by day experience at his point. I hope you feel better today! Day 14 for me!! WooHoo!!!!!
