Hi all
Day 8 - still going. Just came from the gym and I didn't even have my lemonade before going. A friend of ours fainted at the gym because he had no breakfast. This MC must be really great because I haven't eaten since last Sunday and I am up and about....awesome!

Lynda, Otis, Ahuahu, and Dollfacegreen thanks for your input. I feel a part of the group now

Sunday my daughter and I fixed a delicious barbie fried chicken...I watched them eat...and told them I hated them I know the chicken tasted goooood. I planned to tuck away some for when I get off LOL So I tell myself that I only have 2 more days to make it 10. It seems more realistic to me because of the temptations but I know when Wed. comes I will add another 5 days...who knows. I am on vacation now and will be returning to work in another week.

Let's see...hang in there everybody....mmmm.....they just took out the chicken again, I can smell it...oh well, I'll just go have a cold shower LOL

Day 23. Down to 196.5 lbs. Double chin is shrinking. I think tongue is starting to turn a bit white again, still big yellow spot toward the back. Took a long nap yesterday which means my sleep schedule was disrupted last night, hope to make it up tonight. Did quite a bit of walking on Friday/Saturday. Hope to keep that up but it's 90+ degrees in NYC this week! Mild, virtually unnoticeable rash on the side of my face Friday/Saturday which seems to be clearing. Had very good elimination the past few days (some sediment as well as usual liquids) and mildly hot poop this morning. Gums have stopped bleeding but teeth very sensitive thanks to lemon juice and maple syrup - molars hurt when I brush. Had a big allergy attack last night which I hope was just toxin release (not sure of pollen count) - runny and very itchy nose, itchy eyes. Better today. Tomorrow will probably be my last day unless there's big detox.
MC1 (2008?) - 19 days. MC2 (August/September 2009) - 16 days. MC3 (04/25/10) - 30 days. MC4 (08/08/10) - 25 days. MC5 (01/23/11) - Day 2.

Hi. Thank you for your inspirational reply! Day 2 has been fine since I have been at work and am distracted. Afraid to go home lol. I am a vegan and eat really well although not completely raw food. I have recently gained a few pounds and have been having a lot of sugar cravings. I also have chronic headaches and @2-3 migraines a month. So with all that I thought a cleanse might be in order. I read about freezing peppermint tea into popsicles. Is that really allowed? That would be awesome. Funny how now the simplest thing can be such a treat. I would even like to freeze the lemonade. Can we do that? Is Day 3 better or worse than Day 2? My goal is 10 days. Thanks again for your support!

You can definitely freeze or "slush" the lemonade. You lose a bit of the enzymes in the process, so don't do it exclusively, but it's fine and makes a nice treat. You could also add crushed ice for the same effect without losing any enzymes at all.

Same with the mint tea - but that you can only have "occasionally", like one serving or less per day.

Happy cleansing!

I will be drinking water, though, as I know this won't affect the SWF. I usually have 1 or 2 glasses of water in the morning before doing the SWF and have good results - no negative side effects. Drinking water first often helps me with the saltiness of the SWF because I find that I just can't deal with all that salt first thing in the morning unless I get that "morning taste" out of my mouth first by drinking water.

I just feel the urgent need to get back on track and so am only planning a short cleanse (10-14) to do that, then to continue on as originally planned.

Hey!

I'm here! I'm here! Jump on in. The water is great. Lol. I totally understand how you feel. Just even doing a shorter cleanse would really reset your mind and get you back on track like you really want to do. If you don't, you might keep going down the path that you don't want to so let's fix that right now together.

My first 8 or so cleanses were all done very close together - I was trying to do one cleanse per month. I had no negative side effects like weakness or illness. I just found this approach to be ineffective. I lost less weight with each cleanse, had a hard time getting and staying motivated, and found myself beginning to binge between cleanses. Since then I have found doing one cleanse per season to be much more effective. I am making an exception this time because I feel I have gone off track.

Neither Burroughs nor Glickman say WHY they recommend doing a cleanse once per season. I have tried to find anything concrete on how much time is needed between cleanses and why, but have found nothing to date. As I said, my own personal experience is that it was not harmful to do it, just not as effective.

Hi. I thought I sent this reply already but I don't see it. So here goes again. I am just about finished with Day 2! Woohoo. It wasn't bad at all. Is 2 or 3 the bad day? So I plan to go for the 10 days. I am feeling confident I can be successful. Your very supportive reply to my first post will definitely help get me thru this. R we really allowed to make ices? If so I want to do it with the lemonade. I just tried the mint tea and I don't like it. I don't think cold will help. I am doing this for a few reasons. I am a vegan so I eat healthy but lately I have been craving sugar and I gained a few lbs. I also have chronic headaches and migraines and thought I would see if this would help before I go back on meds. And of course, to lose weight :-). Thanks again for the support. It really helps! I am planning to go ten days, maybe twelve but I doubt it. The fatigue that I felt was unique, I hope that my body was getting rid of bad stuff. I'm better now and really do have lots of energy. On the sixth night I had an incredible burst of energy which lasted for about two hours.

I hope you are doing well with your cleanse, it is nice to talk to others who understand and have been through the same experience.

Day 2. I'm surprised at how well I've been doing. I work at a sandwich shop and am food around most of the day, but so far it hasn't phased me.. oh how my smell-buds have gone alert.

I need to drink more of the lemonade mixture. I ended up going to my bf's house and sleeping over and because my work schedule is all crazy, and I have to leave the house at 2am.. I'm worried about having the tea and having to use the bathroom numerous of times... in between going to work and then being at work...
so yesterday and today has been more of a water fast, but I'm trying to guzzle more of the drink and have those bowel movements..which are really important..

so far ive been really peaceful. and kissing my bf, well we had the worst heart splitting argument, but afterwards, and kissing him, OMG.. it was the best ever. ever!!! my senses are fully in awarooo mode.

I had a difficult time with the water fast this time so I switched back to L/C after one day and felt much better. I am drink a bottle of the L/C a day as opposed to two which I used to do and seem to be fine.

After water fast will you switch back to MC? Just curious.

Day thirteen. Doing fine, just a bit bored. Not sure if tomorrow will be my last day or not.
