Day 19. My family cooked out yesterday and I was telling everyone that it was day 17. I don't know why? Everyday needs to count.

I think the best thing to do in a situation like a BQ is to acknowledge that you would like to eat those things and then drink some water or lemonade to settle your cravings. I was able to successfully interact with everyone without the thought of eating all of the delicious BQ and desserts. I'm almost half way to my goal of 40 days.

Congratulations! I tend not to socialize much during my cleanses. It's just easier. I know I won't eat the food but I prefer not to see it. One of the things I love about being on the cleanse when you are around food, you know it isn't an option. No worries of overindulging on a holiday, etc. While everyone else is overeating, you are drinking your lemonade with discipline. Such a great feeling!

Day 13.... Great 2 hour workout today, gym was kind of slow which was nice. It's great to be doing this over a holiday when food and alcohol play such a huge role. We are all staying strong , working out and sticking to our goals!

Otis, I so agree about doing this over a holiday weekend is good.
At first I was dreading it and make no mistake about it, at times it has been very difficult. We can look at it as if it's hard and we can't partake in the festivities but on the other hand we are not overeating and drinking and feeling like crap come Tuesday like a lot of folks are. If I were not on this cleanse I would be sitting around with my friends at their pool wishing I were losing weight while eating and boozing with everyone else. On this cleanse I am losing weight and being healthy and not just dreaming about it. So much power in that!
Today I am going to sit around the pool and hang out, jut going to do it healthfully. I think that doing a cleanse on a holiday is IMPORTANT if you are trying to break emotional and habitual eating. This makes you see that you do not need the bad food and the rituals. You will survive.
Have a great day everyone! It 90 and hot hot hot in the DC area!

    Hi All,
I am attempting the cleanse again. I hope I at least make it through 10 days. Each time I have tried to do the cleanse again, I have been unsuccessful. I have gained all of the weight back, plus more, since my initial cleanse of 40 days. I am really going to try to stick with it this time, I could use all of the support I can get! Wish me luck!
    FOURTH TIME AROUND!
    MC1: 8/19/08 - 9/27/08; 40 DAYS!
    MC2: 1/01/09 -1/07/2009; Gave up after only 7 days
    MC3: 6/07/09-couldn't do it
    MC$: 5/31/10-

Of course you can do it! You did 40 days which is very hard (i know because I'm at 27 on my 1st). Just set a 10 day goal and do it to it! Its a perfect time and you will feel great by July 4th!

Exclamation Re: 2010: What day are you on and how are you doing?

So this is my first cleanse. I am on day five and i'm not seeing any results at all.

--I have forced myself to do the quart of salt water every morning followed by alot of watery bowel movements for about two hours.
--I mix the drink to the exact specifications i read in the book
--I drink about 10-12 10 oz servings a day and a ton of water in between.
--I drink the laxative tea every night

but I have not lost weight or inches, not feeling a change in energy, no solid bowel movements and no change in skin or in tongue color. I still feel hungry at night. I only wanted to do this for the ten days but now i fear i may need to do it longer. I don't want to keep going if it will not work for me though! I'm begining to be discouraged!! Can any one help me??

Good morning everyone. Yes, yes, yes....I agree with you both, Otis and Drexel. Those steaks looked so delicious. I just can't let anything stop my progress. I am actually doing fine. I have a goal to reach and I intend to reach it. Food is great, but it isn't everything. As long as I have my lemonade, I'm fine for now. I was amazed that I made it through the second BQ yesterday. I have gathered so much strength.
