yes, getting a massage releases toxins. I was thinking about how great it would be to get one during this to help things along...I ran into a dilema today. My mom has tickets for a show downtown that my dad can't go with her. She wants to go out to eat before the show. She doesn't know that I started this because a lot of people I have heard have a bad view about the MC, so I didn't want to hear about how I shouldn't be doing this when I am in the vulnerable first days. Nor do I want to go out to eat, though I don't mind having a tea or bringing some lemonade.
Question. How do you know when to stop? I feel like my cravings for bad food are gone, and that I am ready to get into the real world but my tongue is not pink and I haven't hit my weight goal or my # of days goal (40). I'll admit that I do feel hung up on the #'s but I don't think my body is quite ready. Will I know for sure? I don't want to have any regrets. Not sure if I am detoxing and having those feelings because of that. Nights are hard for me so that's when the thoughts creep in then I guess.
If anyone can give me some guidelines as to when you "know" it would help.
Thanks!
I'm starting tomorrow 5/28!

Day 16. I've learned that some days eliminations are a little different than others. Still going strong. I may dream of eating, but I have more will power throughout the day when I'm awake.
Have a wonderful Friday everyone!!!!!!!!!!

I'm concerned.
It is the morning of Day 7.
I have a body composition monitoring scale (measures body fat % and lean muscle mass, among other things) and have been keeping scrupulous records.
In the six days since I began, my weight is down 8.6 pounds.
However, the data from the scale state that muscle mass is down 5.2 pounds, while body fat is actually up a negligible amount (.26 lbs.)
I think it's reasonable to presume that roughly 3 - 5 pounds of a loss can be attributed to decrease in body water and gi contents.
It therefore appears that the main reason for the weight loss so far is that I am starving myself (and on < 1000 calories a day, that would not be a surprise).
I'm not ready to throw in the towel, because I've read so many positive testimonies, but I am concerned. And I need to ask... exactly WHEN does the muscle loss stop and the fat loss begin??![]()

MC 2: 7/10 .. ? days
MC 1: 5/10 ..11 days
I am on less days than you but will try to answer you. I think you, like me, get on the scale and monitor things too closely. My husband actually hides that scale from me, I am only "allowed" to get on it on fridays. You are doing a good thing cleaning our your body, just let it do its work and forget about the weight for the time being. Have someone hide the scale or put it somewhere that is inconvenient to get to. Set yourself to weigh in once, maybe twice a week, no more. And as far as the specific data, I personally wouldn't be checking that. By checking it and not seeing what you want to see, you are setting yourself up for disappointment. Just my thoughts. HTH.
Day 17.... Where have the days gone? I'm here already. SWF has been working properly for the past few days. I am feeling pretty good. I would like to go 40 days. Let's see what my body tells me. I am not going to listen to my dreams. I am always eating unhealthy foods in my dreams. I don't ever see myself eating a salad. No, I'm eating some junk, sweets, or fats. I take mid-day showers. They are quite soothing. It's as if my body demands it. I don't know what it does, but I feel great afterward.
Have a wonderful day everyone. Welcome to all newbies and returnees!!!!!!!

This is my very first cleanse. I have never tried a fast in my entire life. I can say this has been the most diificult thing i have done in my life. I have been wanting to cleanse my system for a while now. Looking around in health food stores to quick alternatives was very confusing until i accidentally found this site on the web. I am 5'3 and i started at 177.2lbs on day one. I am on day 8 and i now weigh 167.8 lbs. I still have a white fuzzy toungue. I am gearing myself up to continue past the ten days. I still am eliminating solids. I drink 6-8 lemonades a day, tea at night and salt water flush every morning. My energy increased on day 7. My sleep patterns have been interupted because of the laxative tea. I generally fall asleep aroung 11pm. But days 1-6 i was waking up around 5am with severe cramps. But once i had a bowel movement the cramps went away. After day 6 the cramps diminished but still kept waking up between 430am and 530 am to use the bathroom. I am now on day 8 and feel great. The most difficult things have been the cravings for fast food. And working in a Bar and Grill made it more difficult. I have made it through 8 days without cheating. My mood from day 1 through 6 was grumpy, bored, and lethargic. Then after day seven i started getting more energy. I am in a better mood right now. I have two more days to reach my ten day goal. Now i am learning to separate eating to confort my emotions. Now i am learning to deal with my emotions without eating.
You are doing such a fantastic job!! You should be really proud of yourself! I can tell you that once you get past the "10" day mark, it gets easier and easier. It really does. On my first cleanse my intent was to go 14 days but as I approached that mark I knew I was not done and could do more! I stopped at 21 days purely for social reasons but I could easily have kept going. You get to a point where you don't want to eat and you feel so great you want to keep it up.
Just get there and take it one day at a time... Day 12 for me. Still awhile to go, planning to do my usual 21 days unless my body tells me I'm done which it has before.
Congrats!!
