    Yeah, I'm checking too.

I think I'll make it to the 10 day mark even if it stays like this, but there will be zero motivation to go further. I'm the same way, day 4 was the longest I've had to go too.

Off to make another lemonade I guess!

I'm hoping me too. If I can make it through saturday temptation, then it will be easier since my husband will be out of town on travel. Then I can just make kid food that doesn't really interest me anyway, and not have to do the whole sit down family dinners all next week. At least that's why I keep telling myself to try to get through tomorrow..

and darn it, I just checked again!

Hey - This morning I poured some lemonade into those popscycle things the kids have... maybe those are done by now - might be fun

    Me too.

So what do you make for the kids when on the MC? I try to keep it simple, not a lot of prep time so I don't have to be in the kitchen and around the food much. Tonight, though, I'm making them stir-fry and I think it's gonna be hellish.

I made them pizza on day 1 and it just about killed me. Spaghetti day 2, then I made Dad grill hamburgers day 3, then when day 4 was turning out so bad I bought them take out and went upstairs to hide. Tonight I'm starting to feel like I could cook anything and be ok - but I'll wait to decide when I find out what everyone's busy friday night schedule is going to be.

I guess I have to admit to being a bad mom here - while dad's away next week, I'll probably let them have frozen chicken nuggets and easy to make stuff like that since it doesn't attract me at all. I'll throw some fruit on the table with it and Voila!

I just had to run to the grocery store because I ran out of lemons - and I bought a lot - there's some new resolve!

And I soon as I got home, and got the LA made, I checked the board...again...

Hello all you multi-checkers!! I survived the pizza party! Very proud of myself. They did not get Cosco, but Dominoe's pizza...I thought "oh, no....it might actually be good..." then they put the two boxes down next to ME!! Arghhh!! But it was - I called it - one cheese and one pepperoni. Blah! Kept telling myself the smell was better than the taste. Then declined saying, "I've been eating vegan all month..." which I have...except I've been drinking vegan all month...no need to invite criticism by telling them the exact diet. I feel like I'm home free now - only about 5 hours to go!!! May go to bed early to speed it along, lol! The weird part - today I had HOT bms!! That's only happened a handful of times in all my cleansing. AND this time the elimination was pure, light yellow - so very, very clearly not an effect of the cayenne! It had that slight day-glow color that means it has bile in it. It feels really good to know that I eliminated some strong toxins on my last day. As soon as I'm done with this post, I'm going GROCERY SHOPPING for veggies!!! (so excited !!!)

I do think it's a preference and may be more difficult to do one way vs the other. I would think 4, 10s would not give you as good results as one 40, but I don't see what it hurts either. And it has the benefit that during the breaks you get some vitamins and protein in your system.
Yeah, same here, that's why I tried it - I couldn't find a definitive reason NOT to. And it didn't HURT me - I did benefit: lost weight, and got a pink tongue. But, as I wrote, each cleanse became less and less effective and I became less and less motivated. This once per season schedule just seems to work much better.

In fact, that is what I had before starting my MC as my farewell-to-food treat. lol Thanks for posting about the veggie soup thread, I had forgotten about it! Will have to go look for some carrotless recipes.
mtmouse, that is awesome! How long will you take to break the fast? When I did my 20-day, I tried to break it like a 10-day, and that was pain I don't ever want to have again! Seriously, I would choose childbirth over that. lol I think I have a little bit of fear of going longer right now because it's so hard to control myself once I'm on the road back to eating solids and so hungry.
LOL - yeah, with childbirth the end result is a lot more appealing! Pizza really is a huge draw - in almost any form. I love making healthier versions - so I'm absolutely going to try your pesto/mushroom version. Will probably add artichoke hearts, tomatoes, & onions. If only I could come up with some great substitute for wheat crust!! (I'm allergic to wheat)
Do any of you raw foodies have any suggestions? Something that will make quinoa stick together to make a pizza crust, maybe?

----Wow! Had to run to the bathroom with another hot bm - and THIS time it was orangish/brown with bits of pulp and little spots of oil (?) floating in it. Weird!! THAT should be enough to make y'all not crave pizza.

Yeah, thanks for that. Appetite is GONE!

You sound soooooooo *up* right now. Congrats on winning the pizza party war! When you make your own pizza, here's something interesting I've been meaning to try...pesto made with hemp seeds instead of pinenuts. I think the hemp seeds might actually be cheaper too.

katlady, I feed my kids like that too. I make sure they get plenty of fruits and veggies every day so on those days when I can't deal with making a stellar dinner I don't feel too bad. I've even been known to whip up big bowls of oatmeal for a quick dinner. lol If I'm not eating with them it's usually pasta or cheese quesadillas with beans and corn. Something easy like that.

I'm not sure why you had such an extreme reaction? I'm going 100% raw immediately following, so no soup for me. I'll do the day+ of OJ, then probably go to watermelon, then maybe a day or two of fruits and veggies. I'll take 3 or 4 days for the transition. I won't have any grains until Thursday, and that will be sprouted quinoa in a salad. Cooked grains have been bad news for me in past transitions.

And I did decide to make today--day 18--my last day. So I'll start all that tomorrow. Now that I've made the decision, I'm starting to get interested in the oranges and other food I'll be preparing. But the decision came mostly from the realization that I didn't have enough agave left to do many more days and still have enough for the raw desserts I'll be making for my upcoming dinner party. So I figured it would be best to stop now. I'll try to do a slow transition--in the past I've also gotten caught up in eating too much too fast. But if I stick to raw I think it will be much easier.

On the pizza question, Alyssa Cohen does have a few recipes for raw dehydrated pizza crust. I usually make them into individual size rounds (~5-7") and freeze them when they're dry, then take one out a couple of hours before I want to eat it and make just one portion for myself (but obviously I could do more if others were eating it with me) and warm it in the dehydrator. I find that quite satisfying.

Congratulations everyone, whatever stage you're at!

Yahoo! That means you are enjoying orgasmic orange juice about now! Congrats!

I always find the ease out hard and I tend to speed it up. Although I can be obsessive about the marvelous OJ, I end up shaky and hungry and then I move on to broth pretty quickly. OJ just doesn't seem like enough calories or something - maybe I need to drink a little LA for the MS to get me through the day rather than eating salad by dinnertime.

Yeah, I'd like to see the day when my kids would eat something with beans in it. I used to say, if it wasn't breaded, fried, frozen, then reheated, my kids wouldn't touch it.

I feel guilty because I'm trying to make changes in my diet, yet I let them continue eating SAD food - primarily because it's easier. And I think my slipping back into old SAD habits in between MCs is partly childhood conditioning and partly the convenience.

They do eat lots of fruit though. Veggie-wise, they are kind of limited to potato, corn, carrots, and sometimes peas. The older ones are starting to get a little adventurous, they'll even eat some of my soup as long as they get lots of crackers with it.

I guess I need to concentrate on myself first, and then try to sneak more healthiness into their diet.

    Welcome to day 6 y'all!!

I think I'm finally over the start up hump . Woke up this morning kinda shaky feeling, had freezing hands and feet, my left eye was itching and watering like crazy, but somehow I felt better. Had semi solids prior to the SWF, fancy that - must be some serious detoxing going on. Then I found I dropped 2 lbs on the scale too.

Couldn't make the LA fast enough this morning and halfway through remembered those LA popsicles I made yesterday. Had one - it was awesome!!! Can't believe I've never tried that before - very satisfying.

Now I think I'll go take a nice hot jacuzzi bath and try to get rid of the chill.
