Day 2 down, just have to drink my Smooth Move and I will have made it! I'm so stoked that I've made 2 days! I know it's nothing in comparison to some of the vets here, but this is a big deal for me and I will celebrate my commitment to myself by being grateful for the opportunity to do this MC. I haven't weighed at all since starting - I'll do that tomorrow morning. I anticipate reasonable losses for my size and my activity level. I have been working out daily for the past week and I am not discontinuing that while cleansing.

Slight headache tonight, but nothing major. I'm not a coffee drinker (but definitely a tea drinker) so I think the caffeine withdrawl isn't quite as bad. I am grumpy and irritable, but that's typical for me. (Ha!) I have been able to cook meals and even made a special treat for the fam tonight without sampling or licking fingers, etc. What I miss most is just EATING. I'm not craving anything specific, I just want to EAT. I have a dysfunctional relationship with food and the desire to eat is very strong - it's the most difficult thing for me. But it's 8:15p now and it's time to drink my tea and go to bed. Take that, you big bad eating monster! Early bedtimes make the day much more tolerable.

    Day 6 down baby!

Now cometh the dreaded Day 7 - scary music playing 'dun, dun, dun, dunnnnn!' Yesterday I drank the salt water mixture and I'm not doing that again, no sir I ain't. I drank that nasty stuff and I didn't expel hardly a thing. I am of the persuasion that if I have to suffer, I want to see results. So its Senna tea for me from here on out.

Today wasn't too bad. I made my way the church but was rather quiet as I didn't want to knock anyone over with my breath. I kept waiting to become offensive and it seems that I'm not having a problem in that area. In the meantime, my tongue looks like the Colorado Rockies -white as I don't know what. I just returned home from Wal-Mart and as I was walking out I saw a cooking healthy cookbook. I deliberately approached my prey. Opened the victim, flipped the pages and drooled over every inch of the page like it was latest edition of playgirl magazine. You should have saw me, with every flip I squinted my eyes, stared diligently at the food -lusting. I would take a deep breath, examine all the parts and sections and just sighed Mmmmmm -and then sudden total silence and contemplation until another graceful page was slowly turned. It truly was an erotic experience.

Anyway until tomorrow. Thanks for the shout out FaithD. GO GUYS!

Thumbs up Re: 2010: What day are you on and how are you doing?

    Day 2 – checking in.

Boy! Was I hungry today! So hungry - complete with sound effects from the stomach. Drank lemonade all day. On the plus side – had great energy – walked the dog for an hour & half, cleaned the house etc. Will be drinking senna before bed. If this continues for the next 8 days… it will be awesome.

So for my fellow cleansers… here are some tips & tricks I use to cheat myself into continue & not give up. I am hoping you will share your’s as well:
    - I can drink my lemonade without the maple syrup. So I save up my allowed quota & lick it off a spoon… I reward myself especially when I am feeling down.
    - For me, it seems like there is a direct co-relation between the glasses of lemonade or water I drink & the weight loss. I have almost always noticed that I reduce close to a pound or so day… So, I love to drink up frequently & every time I visit the bathroom, I weigh myself… get all excited and drink up immediately. Sometimes, the scales don’t register any weight loss all day.. then I drink with a vengeance.. until I see the scales give in.
    - I have never been successful doing all 10 days. The first couple of times, I know I failed because I was not prepared. Especially with the lemon juice. I had to manually squeeze it every time.. which was a drag.. .. so I would postpone till I got very hungry and finally yield to the hunger. The last time I started the cleanse, I bought a lemon squeezer for 15 some dollars. Now I squeeze the lemons to last me for the day while I am drinking the SW. It’s like a little ceremony for the day & I get mentally prepared. Plus the lemonade is always there when I want it.
    - I visit this BB and browse it a 100 times a day. There are also people on utube who have posted their MC experience. Reading about their success stories, keeps me motivated
    - I browse all other info. on healthy lifestyle.. juicing, raw food etc.. all that also keeps me motivated.

    Now your turn ladies!

Bailey’s mama – I am also mama to a puppy! I can totally relate to your handle.
Taut – Wish I could do this with someone in the house. I think I will be more motivated. Good for you to be able to do it with your daughter. My husband provides moral support. That’s it.
FaithD – Skinny Bitch was very disturbing. Check this out -

You’ll get a kick out of it!
sweetart115 – Like Baily’smama said – you’r fine. There are no hard & fast rules for start, end & frequency of elimination. I usually time myself to be around the restroom for an hour or so..

    See yall around!

    Day 2 - checking in.
Good idea to share our tips.
    1. I, too, prepare my 'concentrate' for the day all at once and then I only need to add water. If I am especially motivated, I load up some water bottles premixed and keep them in the fridge so if I need to go somewhere for a few hours, I have them ready to take with me.
    2. I do not tell my mother that I am doing it or she finds ways to come by the house and leave food in my fridge or invite me to her house for dinner - usually right when I'm REALLY hungry. She means well but now, I don't tell her.
    3. I do my best to plan so I have no eating events - Maybe it's just me but people in my life seem to have an issue with me sitting with them while they eat if I'm not eating. It's hard enough to do this without people saying, "Come one, a salad won't hurt you." That has taken me out plenty of times so now I don't go to events, dinners, parties, and I am even careful about going to friends and families homes where I know I can freely eat their food that is EVERYWHERE and calling to me to eat it.
    4. This is the first time I have had a group to talk to but it is helping already. It is a definite plus.
    5. I weigh myself every morning. I haven't tried weighing myself during the day. I usually weigh more at night so I am concerned that I will get discouraged but maybe tomorrow I will try that.
    6. I agree that drinking as much lemonade as possible helps with elimination and weight loss and does not hinder it. I do not ration myself. I mix up a bunch, keep it in the fridge, drink as much as I can all day and when I run out, I mix more.
    7. I go on youtube sometimes, too. When I see the people there who have done it for 40 days, ten doesn't seem so enormous. It sort of normalizes it.
    8. I do the tea both morning and night. I don't always eliminate after the salt which I understand may mean I'm not mixing it right, but I find it hard to drink and sometimes I gain weight if I don't eliminate which I know is just the salt but it is hard on my emotions. So, the tea is easy and I do feel it stimulating my colon so I stick with that.
    9. I go to be early to avoid the night time trip to the grocery store.

I kepy busy most of today. Drank tons of lemonade and can't say I've felt bad at all. I drink as much as I can to avoid getting hungry. Am looking forward to day 3. It's right around the corner!

Bailey’s mama – I have a dog, too. Dogs are great.
Taut – Well done doing this with your daughter.
Goondu – Thanks for the link. I did get a kick out of it.
sweetart115 – 20 minutes sounds normal according to everything I've read.
Quartz- How is your day going?

    Well done everybody!

It's Day 9 for me. Whew...made it through Christmas Eve(Day 6) party at my parents home. We had a lot of guests and A LOT of food, especially all my favorite comfort foods. It's amazing how many people thought I was crazy to do this during the holidays but it works best for me, I'm doing this for me, not them.

    Update:

Day 7: Felt tired and felt cold all day!! I was surprised because I thought I'd feel better each day but for some reason Day 7 felt hard. I expected this since Peter mentioned detox symptons every 7 days. I left my parents Stanley Burrough's book so they know what I'm doing because they were concerned when I was feeling tired and cold.... who knows, maybe they'll become converts.

Day 8: Felt so much better, not cold or tired. My AM BMs were interesting, lots more old waste that looked pasty..sorry, TMI, but wow, I know this is working and it's all clearing out of my system, great!! Keeps me going. Friend invited me over for a get together but I decided not to go because I knew there would be food around and just didn't want that around me, the party was challenging on it's own.

Day 9: I went on a 8 mile hike.. yay! My legs felt strong enough to get through the hike. Running the hills were challenging but I ran the flat trails.

I have to report something very EXCITING... for as long as I can remember I had what felt like bumps on the back of my thighs. They were not visible, I could feel these bumps by palpating the skin and pushing in deep, they were sooo painful, too. A nurse co worker of mine told me it was my muscle tissue but couldn't offer an expanation why it felt bumpy and painful. Tonight while showering, I went over that area and no pain!! Plus, no bumps. I couldn't believe it I had to palpate it deeply again to make sure and no bumps or pain. I believe what I had were built up toxins. Has anyone had this? I'm so excited. Also, I took a closer look at my skin in the mirror and my skin looks smoother around my hips where I had very visible cellulite. Well, that is smoothing away, too. Most of the cellulite is gone but if I stick with this longer and drop the extra few pounds I need to lose, I believe I can be cellulite free!

Tomorrow is Day 10 and I swore to myself I am done with this after Day 10. However, my tongue is JUST starting to show some pinkness so I think I will need to continue past Day 10 even though I would like to end this but I am getting so many benefits and I've come this far that I will continue to probably Day 14. I think my tongue should be cleared by then.

    Thanks for reading!

Goondu- Oh my daughter is having a rough time, she was so motivated days prior and I'm surprised on how her detox symptoms kicked in instantly. She hasn't drank enough lemonade, or water because of her headache. I told her to hang in there and my husband is trying to console her as well so I'm hoping she get through the night. She's not hungry so I'm relieved of that but she need to finish the water.

Day 1 is coming to an end. I almost threw in the towel due to my daughter having a difficult time with a headache already. I told her it's part of the detoxing and she will get better. My tea is steeping and I'm actually feeling sleepy at 10:47 pm whoo hoo. I drank 60 oz of lemonade, 50+oz of water even though I was required to drink on 37 oz. Well chat tomorrow night night

Day 3 started, SWF done and BM done. However.....I weighed myself this morning (after not weighing for the first 2 days) and found that I'm down 0.5 pounds. 0.5 pounds!!! Ugh. That's a bit frustrating, but I know this too will happen for me. I had a huge travel day Thursday/Friday (16 hours of driving) and that always affects me. Additionally, I'm a slow loser at first....well, a slow loser in general, but definitely at first. I'm also exercising, so there might be some water retention going on. Going to stick with it and keep going! After today I will be 30% done. And that is one step closer to 50%, which is one step closer to DONE!

Wishing all of you a GREAT day with wonderful cleansing and minimal detox symptoms!

Thumbs up Re: 2010: What day are you on and how are you doing?

Day 3 & Rocking!! Just finished SWF. It gets easier with each passing day. I think it is harder to get it down when the stomach & intestines are relatively fuller as in the first couple of days.
No detox symptoms so far. Only some sinus stuffiness & grogginess in the head following the SWF & elimination... But I'm well enough to kick ass at work today.

Adco: I read your report with much envy! I could never go through a Christmas eve party on the cleanse. I have to carefully plan my cleanse days to avoid any such temptations. Even my husband tries to not bring his food around me. Good for you gal! Loved reading the report about the disappearing cellulite! Now stick out for Day 14. If anyone can do it – it is you. Keep us posted.

Taut: I think that would be the not so plus side of doing it with someone.. When the person is not doing so great.. than it tends to psychologically rub off I guess. I hope she is getting her strength from you. In my earlier few attempts... at MC.. my detox symptoms.. & caffeine withdrawal hit me early on... like the first couple of days... but the more I attempt MC, they are getting milder. Hang in there. Stay positive....

    See yall later.

    Day 3 is here!
I got through yesterday just fine. Drinking LOTS of lemonade seems to be the thing for me and keeping my mind busy with things I'm doing. I lost two more pounds. Have been doing the tea morning and night. So far, so good.

Audrey, I started just after Christmas and the meal itself put my weight up. Maybe since you didn't weigh yourself and you were traveling, you probably lost more than you think. Well done!
