Thread: 2010: What day are you on and how are you doing?

Finishing DAY 8 of my first MC!!

I feel really pretty good. I haven't had a lot of pain or discomfort. Some mild/moderate back pain and a couple of days with headaches, but really nothing too bad. What do people mean when they talk about heavy detox symptoms on day 6/7/8?? Am I missing something? I have had some extra BMs that are quite urgent on a couple of days, is that it?

Today I cooked homemade chicken pot pie for a sick friend. I also baked this morning, and I cooked shepherds pie for my family's dinner tonight. My house smells AMAZING! I am totally enjoying the smell and am not feeling tempted to eat the food. That's crazy!

Thanks for your posts! They really help answer questions and make this process easier. You feel like you've got a ton of friends going thru it with you. It's awesome!

    peace and blessings...

Feeling a bit better this evening after yoga... so glad I started that this week! it has been a blessing and I definetly want to continue... anyone out there know of a good yoga series on TV that I can DVR? I see them periodically when I scan my on screen guide, but can never find them again when I want them!

I will continue to stick it out until day 14... I think I can do it and today was just detox smacking me around.

PLUS I am sooooo not getting enough water I think. It is challenging getting it all in I just have not taught myself to remember to drink it. I'm gonna buy a "beautiful pitcher" of some sort to keep on my desk at work with a "fancy glass" and act all special about drinking it - may be that will help!

See you lemon heads tomorrow. The sooner I go to bed - the sooner day 14 will come! (yes - just like Santa!)

Question Re: 2010: What day are you on and how are you doing?

Day 7 - Still not having too much production with the SWF & have adjusted the amount of salt. My body has felt hungry yesterday & today, strange because the first five days were not a problem in that regard. Have written in the last couple of days and none of my messages have been posted, am I doing something wrong?

He's going to bed in about 15 minutes and I'll try to get at least 2 more LA's in before bed (which may be early tonight, considering I don't feel so well.) If I do feel like this tomorrow after the elimination, should I just suck it up anyway? I *want* to, but I don't want to do anything detrimental to my body. If this is my body's way of saying "I've had enough now, thank you!" I don't want to ignore it. But at the same time, if this is my body's way of saying "More please, thank you!" I want to be prepared for that, too, hehe.

Thanks, Evita - You've been a ton of help!
Thanks sweetie. You know what? See how you feel tomorrow after your SWF. I am going to bet that clears things up a bit. Don't decide to give up now. Just take a rest and see how you feel tomorrow. OH what a difference a night can make.

Alright, before I sprint for the bathtub. I actually left the house today!!! LOL. Almost 8 days without leaving the house. For ME that's unheard of. I can't stay in one place for two seconds. I've felt very quiet. Not depressed just introspective. I met a friend for some lovely mint tea and then came home. Did some kickboxing and then did a kundalini yoga practice and now off to take a bath, watch a movie and get some sleep! I may check in a bit later but if not see everybody tomorrow! Winding down Day 8!!

That's my plan. I'm really hoping that I feel great (or at least better, hehe) after the SWF, and that I can continue through until day 10! I've made it 7 days already, dang it! hehe. Enjoy your bath!

Day 2 of my first cleanse. I feel great 1)because I've already done better than my first try 2) because I have so much energy. I had so much today that I did 1/2 hr of a step class which I didn't think I would be able to work out much while on the cleanse. I started this cleanse at 214 lbs and not in very good shape so the idea of exercising while not eating is just phenomenal.

I managed to get the SWF down this morning by having 16 oz with 2 tsp sea salt and then 16 oz of plain water chaser but I have a question. I've read that you should lay down on your right side for 20-30 minutes afterwards. I get up at 4am to have my SWF and then back to bed til 6am (or until I have to go) except that I didn't have to go. Once I was up to shower, I did have a BM but not much and there was no urgency to it. So should I lay down for a bit and then get up and move around to get things moving???

Try adding an extra teaspoon of salt. That should help! Everyone's body is different, and while some people have excellent results with 2teaspoons, some people do not. I did not. But once I added the extra teaspoon... Whoa buddy!

And congrats on making it to the end of day 2!!

Just a question and NO reflection on you and your tongue... I have maybe 30 pounds to loose give or take 5 or 10 (LOL) My theory is that as long as I am still losing fat, and the toxins are released from that fat, I will continue to shed toxins and therefore not have a pink tongue until all necessary weight is lost. Does that make good sense? I am not even dreaming of a pink tongue yet...

I am having a very weak day. How does one know when you are just detoxing or when you just do not have the reserves to go too far beyond day 10? Is this happening just because I secretly KNOW that day 10 is a stopping point and I'm past it or is there actually a physical need to stop... .. Made it through yoga last night without knocking anyone over though - so that's a plus.
No reflections taken C Mack. Hopefully since you asked the question a few pages back, others may have chimed in. I'm still going through all the messages. For me I haven't really thought about it before in regards to ones weight and pink tongue. I would almost say it's not the case for me as I feel like I'm already around my ideal weight (unless I can physically make my abs appear but my stomach is flat)...a few pounds below it now...and my tongue's still fuzzy. It's never become pink in the eight MC's that I've done.

Sorry to hear you're having a weak day. I will admit I felt a bit lightheaded on my Day 11 as I was making my way to work. It's the first time I've gone past ten and personally I was curious whether I'd be able to or not. For me I do have 10 as the magical number so psychologically I may just be telling myself I'm done....aside from social obligations that come up that I want to be able to eat for. Also for me I get bored easily and I just get tired of the lemonade by the time Day 10 rolls by. 10 is actually a good number. Had the book said you need to do at minimum 14 days....I probably would've hesitated before even doing the first one.

With that said I'm definitely done with this cleanse. I'm ready to get back to the world of eating and of course continuing to eat more healthy and sensibly. Totally looking forward to that soup on Thursday.

End of day 9 of my first MC!!!!!

I did NOT anticipate these last few days to be so hard!!! Day 7,8, and 9 have proved to be increasingly more challenging. I think part of it has to do with the fact to the end is in sight. I have been doing a lot of menu planning and making grocery lists and just doing a lot of thinking about FOOD. I am hungry. My motivation has also been low. On the brighter side, and what's kept me going, I'm seeing a TON of results. I have definitely dropped a few pounds, and though that was not my intention in doing this cleanse, it's certainly a nice benefit! I also feel incredibly empowered that I took control of my eating, my diet, and my life. I have established the difference between WANT and NEED. Between HUNGER and CRAVINGS. That is huge for me. I also have a deeper appreciation for just being. Not having to DO something all the time. I come home and just relax. It's been really nice.

But boy oh boy am I ready to start eating again!! Slowly, carefully and mostly raw at first. I plan on doing lots of green smoothies and blended fruits and veggies. Some soups of course, because I've been FREEZING MY TUSH OFF!! I'm in Boston and the temps have been well below freezing and with my digestive system on hiatus these past few days I have nothing internal to heat me up!

Well fellow lemonheads, this blog is not the easiest to navigate and some of my questions were never answered, but it has been WONDERFUL having all of your support and reading what everyone else has been going through. Tomorrow is day 10 and my LAST day of lemons, cayenne and maple syrup!

    This time around anyways.....
